I got a horrible haircut a couple weeks ago (somewhere else) and finally reached the point where I couldn’t take it anymore. I came to Manhattan Barber Shop Unisex because it was nearby, but I was nervous because there are very few Unilocal reviews from women! Turned out my fears were unwarranted because I left less than half an hour later with all of my hair problems solved. Ladies, you can enter with confidence!

Had a great experience here. I recently cut my super long hair into a long bob, not realizing how super thick my hair is. I wanted to shave an undercut to thin it out. Quick, easy, cheap, and the service was friendly. Thank you!

The WORST haircut I’ve ever had!!!
I went there a week ago because he was rated good. So he receives me with an attitude and sends me to a chair. After explaining how I wanted my cut and telling him that I wanted the left side shorter and the right side long (i have a pixie cut that I’ve been trying to grow out and it had taken me at least two months to grow the right side) the first thing he does is SHAVE my right side!!! OMG! I told him I wanted a «cool» look and he shaves everything and makes me look like a little boy! Then another lady comes and he is like «I’m almost there with you» and he tells me that he’s done… He had just done a horrible job, didn’t ask me if I liked it, nothing, just sends me off and takes his next client.
AWEFUL!!! And the wooooorst client service!!!

Bronis is my man. Guy is so polite and pro in his craft. I more then highly recomende them to be your next stop. Try Bronis or George both are pros.

This place is my go to barber shop. Ive been using Bronis for about few years now and he is always on point.

I tried this place twice and then gave up. The reviews on Unilocal were strong so I gave it a try. I don’t want to call out the specific barber but when I was assigned to him, he was reading something that suggested he wanted to be in a completely different industry. I started to get a little nervous when I looked at his own haircut, which I greatly hoped he was not going to pass on to me. I then cut him short (no pun intended) when I really felt like things were going off track. The second time I went, I was pointed toward the same barber and quickly made up an excuse for why I had to leave. Maybe I just didn’t click with the barber, but this was not for me.

I came here to get the batteries replaced for my watch and chain fixed on one of them too. The owner was very detailed oriented and it was clear he knew what he was doing! He replaced the batteries and I left the chain to be fixed as it requires more time because it require some other bit. Will be back to get my other watches fixed!

Conveniently located next to a M15SBS stop and very affordable at 15 bucks. George was able to accommodate me as a walk-​in. Very satisfied.

Bronis did an excellent job cutting my hair. This is a very convenient location a few blocks away from the 86^th street line. With friendly and professional service, I will definitely frequent this barbershop!

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while now. My experience here was great! I have a regular place that I go to in Midtown, but having moved up to East Harlem, I decided it was time to find a new place. Needless to say, one will always be nervous when going in to get their haircut by someone they don’t know for the first time.
After explaining exactly what I wanted, the barber went to work and did a great job! When it was time to pay, George asked me how my visit went and gave me a coupon for a $ 10 cut, despite me already checking in and receiving the Unilocal discount for this haircut. Definitely glad I found this place and will be coming back.

My bf has been coming to George every 2 weeks for the past 5 years,. They’re like the best of friends and always seem to have something to talk about when they see each other.
It’s a comfortable place as I always have a seat when I wait, which is never a long time. He always tells his friends to come here, and even works our schedule around traveling here for a haircut. Bummer for me. Price is great at $ 15 and I heard that he even cuts women’s hair for $ 25. Good to know in the event of a worst case scenario.

Looking for a clean haircut that looks professional but edgy enough for a summer weekend in Brooklyn I’m an entrepreneur that works with people of all ages everyday I needed to find a good balance between a hair style that doesn’t distract my clients but i feel fresh enough for summer fun time ask for George I’ve been cutting my hair with him for a year and I haven’t looked back. George is the best, he knows what he is doing. He is quick and his prices are amazing for the city. This is the place for me and brother every time we need a haircut. Highly recommended

Barber shop right down the block from me which is perfect given its close proximity and I can run down to get a haircut whenever I need to. Open 7 days a week, 7pm everyday excluding Sundays (I think) and $ 15 for a men’s haircut. Credit cards also accepted. A women’s salon area is also available in the back of the store so if you come here with the misses, they have something for all. I believe there are three barbers on duty so if you have to wait, it shouldn’t be for too long. Ask for George, he’s been taking care of my haircuts for at least 3 years.

Not many barbers that can cut asian hair in the city. Yes, I’ve done my research and I think I’ve found my guy. Interestingly enough it’s the non asian barber that can cut asian hair the best. $ 15 for a cut and he uses scissors and a buzzer. I hate when places only use buzzers, places that shouldn’t actually be considered a barber shop. I haven’t tried the other two barbers (only the guy in the glasses) but the other two barbers seem to have a pretty dedicated following as I noticed lots of guys waiting for both. But I’m sticking with what I know because if it ain’t broke, why fix it. And my haircut does not need fixing.

I came uptown over a year ago and it’s time to tell. I’ve been to several shops, but keep coming back here. George’s shop is my choice for best on the UES! Friendly service along with a sharp haircut. I really enjoy my time in his shop every two weeks. Spa-​SEE-​ba!

I just moved to the Upper East Side. Manhattan Barber Shop is so close to where I live, so I decided to give it a shot. Thank God I tried this place, the stylist is very professional, friendly and I got the best cut in a long time.

With the departing of my regular barber who moved away over the summer I have tried a few different guys but they just didn’t seem to give me a good haircut. I finally got fed up with my old place and as I really needed a fresh cut I started to look around my hood. After seeing the glowing reviews here on Unilocal I gave Manhattan Barber Shop a shot. It’s close to where I live on the Upper East Side so it’s just a few minutes away.
So glad I tried this place for a haircut! George knows his stuff and I got the best cut in a long time. It’s a basic neighborhood shop that gives an old school cut and knows what they are doing. Buzz, scissor, razer cut — they do it all. Saw a woman and another guy working here, who also gave a good cut from what I observed, but I wanted George as he was highly recommended. Told him what I wanted, he made some recommendations, and performed with the skill of a surgeon.
Super nice guy too. I think I just found my new neighborhood barber. Hey, a good barber is hard to find!
Damn, this place even replaces watch batteries and does repairs. Plus, as they stay open until 7:30pm I can get a cut on the way home from work when needed now.
Friendly, professional, with reasonable prices. Never going back to my old barbershop after a cut here. Coming here from now on. My doo is looking sharp now!
