This place has the best prices and delivers (rather quickly unlike some of the other shops in the area). Everyone is friendly and willing to help and they have dog treats for people who bring their pooches to wine shop :)

This place has great customer service! Was in the city for work and headed to a party. Grabbed some Dom and Veuve… and boom! Card denied. My banking institution who told me I’ll never have to worry about issues with my card outside of Hawai’i lied! The card thought it was identity theft.
The store clerk was SOOOOO patient and didn’t give me any hassles while I worked out the embarrassing situation! This place has class and a great selection to boot.

I love this place. They are very knowledgable and prices are good for the neighborhood.

Fixin’ for vino?
This little David of a store packs like a Goliath. Wall-​to-​wall wine and liquor ensure you will never go home empty-​handed – and you will impress your friends with amazing new alcohol. I was on a wine mission and delighted to find that I could get everything on my list:
1) Portuguese Vinho Verde
2) South African Pinotage
3) Italian Lambrusco
I’m difficult, so these three rather uncommon varietals are my current (perpetual?) obsession. It’s not unusual for me to go into a wine boutique and be told they don’t carry even one decent bottle of any type. The fact that I could tick all three off at Manhattan Plaza Winery is a testament to their selection. Also, they have awesome, friendly staff, who somehow find a way to help you without making you feel like they’ve broken the fourth wall (there’s a further «wallflower» pun in there somewhere, but I’m too tired to come up with it).

I looked this place up on Unilocal,knowing i had to find a bottle of whiskey for a friend’s birthday and didn’t want to pay crazy high manhattan prices for it.
When i walked in, the man behind the counter let me browse without bothering me. BUt after i stared at the bottles of whiskey with i apparently know nothing outside of single malt whiskies/​scotches, so the guy kindly asked if i needed help. being a doll he walked over and asked key questions to help me make a decision and within a minute or two, i had the bottle and was paying. he chose copper head, a rye whiskey made in VA that looked like a lovingly crafted bottle.
i gave the bottle to my friend and he was pretty excited to try it (too bad we’re at work).

They had Taittinger champagne for a reasonable price. The box was a little dusty so the cashier wiped it down for me. When I said it was a gift he wrapped it for me too, all without asking. In my view, they have a good selection and great service. Definitely not another run of the mill liquor store.

We’ve waited at the bus stop in front of this store many times after seeing plays in that neighborhood, but last night it was freezing and another bus wasn’t due for awhile. When we saw the sign for a wine tasting, we couldn’t resist. Although the store is rather small, they have a good selection and the prices of wine we looked at were quite reasonable. The interior is very attractive and welcoming. Also, the man in charge of the wine tasting (owner-​?) was very friendly and so was the nice guy at the cash register.

I’ve purchased here 30 times. We’re regulars. We’ve always been happy, however, the black guy that tries to work the floor. Who I thought was just a transient following me in is actually an employee. He elected to follow me and to comment on my bf’s interest in taking his time to select a bottle of wine from the shelves. This is how it went. I have more knowledge than my bf because I studied w/​the sommelier from chanterelle when I worked in restaurants, the bf is a novice. So he’s still finding his way. That being said the guy on the floor mistook my stance for waiting as his opportunity to begrudge us, i was standing by allowing my bf to choose what he thinks he would like and the guy working the floor had the audacity to approach me and to belittle him. Telling me, it’s evident he has no idea about wine based on him not knowing whats on our shleves. I’m sorry, but you cant be a bigger DICK than believing that someone other than the buyer for the store is GOING to know what’s on YOUR shelves and I have to commend my bf after telling him for not going back to the store an reeming him out it was without a doubt the most arrogant display of pompousness and a self serving diatrib that i’ve seen in a wine store in NYC.
Just dont by from these DRAB fools.

This place has a pretty great selection for it’s location and being kind of small. You can find just about anything. They are always really helpful if you need help finding something or need a suggestion.
Apparently they deliver, but I’ve yet to try out the service as I live embarrassingly close.
My least favorite thing is that if more than six people are in the store, it can be a little bit cramped.
Also, if you need to find the fun flavored vodkas, they are on the left when you walk in.
The boxed wine selection is not great (one, maybe two varieties per red/​white). And don’t be tempted into buying the alcoholic whipped cream. Go for whipped cream vodka instead.

Fast. Cheapish. Nice employees. Good selection. Overall easy.

It’s a bigger store than you’d expect, but a smaller store than it seems it should be to hold everything they have.

Large selection, decent prices. Was able to find champagne bottles for $ 6 each. Perfect for stocking up for a BYOB NYE party. Lots of wines of course, and liquors to choose from.

I wanted to send a case of wine over to a friend opening in a Broadway show and could not find ANY place in NY that was helpful at all. David, at Manhattan Plaza Winery, saved the day and immediately took care of it. I was so impressed.

This place has been around for so long — without change — that it has become the sort of Maiden Aunt of wine stores in Hells Kitchen. Frankly the last few years have not treated them kindly, they have been blown out of the water by the new competition in the nabe — no longer are they the only game in HK, but they persevere by grace of their friendly staff and bountiful assortment of liquors and wines at very affordable price points. I’m not sure the buyer of their wine and myself have the same «pallette» — many of their French wines don’t sing to me as they should — but it is nice to see a home grown neighborhood wine store that doesn’t try to rape the wallets of the locals and that stays open till 11pm for the after theatre crowd that is prevalent in these parts. I like this place because it never pretends to be too big for its britches — it is a local wine shop with a wide variety at good prices that allow them to make a profit and allows the customers to not feel they are paying for the real estate instead of the booze.

They have Pimm’s No 1 Cup AND Sofia Coppola champagne cans. At a good price.

When I use to work in the Garment District, we’d order from these guys for office cocktail parties.
They are quick, professional and inexpensive!
I’ve been in the shop. tiny. Just give them a buzz with your price limit and have them deliver instead!

Conveniently located right outside the port authority bus terminal, this little shop is always an easy stop on my way to a friend’s dinner party… even if that friend lives in Sheepshead Bay. Decent prices, decent selection, they have a lot of chilled stuff, and the bin ends are good for finding good deals. It is pretty small though, so it gets packed when there are like 4 people inside.
