We’ve been meaning to come here for a year and today we decided to check it out! Wish we hadn’t taken so long ! We are from the Western United States and that was the first Ribeye we’ve had that reminded us of cattle country raised beef! Delicious rib eye steaks and excellent customer service at a reasonable price. We picked this place over Peter Luger in Brooklyn! Don’t waste anymore time, come check it out.

Meh. We waited over an hour for our food to come out, and it wasn’t even that busy. Granted there was a huge party of like 20 people there, but otherwise there weren’t any other tables occupied. The atmosphere was Columbian diner meets Don Coquis. The skirt steaks were all«very well done» even though we ordered medium rare. The tip was included in our bill, but they didn’t give us an itemized receipt, so we wouldn’t have noticed this and would have double tipped if we hadn’t requested an itemized receipt. There were a few pros of the place though: free shots were offered twice, and the dishes were pretty decent sized, especially the bandeja paisa. The steak was still tasty even though it was over-cooked. Great tostones with guac. Overall it was a mediocre experience and I definitely would not return.

I been in other Colombian restaurants before, but this one is a very lousy one. To begin with there is not customer services the staff don’t know what they doing. The food did not taste like real Colombian food. After the person take you order, you don’t see them untill is time to pay. It was my first time and my last time I don’t think that I will coming back to this place. So such shame. Beautiful place

Four stars for the fast and very nice service. I echo the other reviewer in that this isn’t a vegetarian-friendly spot. The complimentary bread was unexpected and excellent. It was loud but I was dining by myself, so that was fine with me. It seemed to be one of the few restaurants in this area, so it is definitely worth supporting with your dining dollars.

The service was terrible. It was a friday night around 8pm, and there were only about 3 tables. 2 waiters but service was slow, and the attention was very poor. The place claims to be a Colombian restaurant, but the only Colombian dish in the entire menu was a Bandeja Paisa. The dish was served with the least amount of beans I’ve seen in my entire life. I’d like to consider myself an active foodie… Eating out is a true passion of mine, and so it’s safe to say I have a good idea what to expect when I order a particular dish. The meat was juicy but incredibly small, as well as everything else on the plate. Im the sort of person that gets full really easily. Let’s just say I left hungry. Yes, the place is beautiful but I wouldn’t go back to be overcharged for a dish that leaves me craving more food. Don’t bother coming here… I had high expectations, but they’ve let me down.

I’ve been here twice and they have been a great experience. The food is so delicious and staff are courteous and friendly. The atmosphere is also a plus. You can’t go wrong eating here. The first time I came I had the rib eye which was amazing. Also was tasting what everyone else was eating like the paella. Everything I tried was great. Hope it stays for a long time.

I work all over New York City and I was sad to see that East Elmhurst seemed to lack quality restaurants. Medallo will exceed your expectations. The lunch special is very affordable. $ 7.75 will get you an appetite sized entrée, and soup! And the food is good quality. I only have two complaints. First, it’s a little slow. I ordered 3 lunch specials for my co-workers and it took a little under 30 minutes. But you can’t rush quality, right? Second, EVERYTHING has meat in it. To my surprise, even the lentil soup has meat. So while my co-workers enjoyed the food very much, there is nothing for me to eat there. Still, I trust my friends’ judgment, so if they say the food is very good, it must be! Also, the service is excellent. Everyone is very nice. Last but not least, the atmosphere is one of the best I’ve ever seen. It’s definitely the fanciest restaurant in East Elmhurst. Give this place a try. I hope they start offering at least one vegetarian option soon. They should in fact give up on meat entirely.
