I don’t know what these other people are complaining about I go there 3 times a week and the food is great!!! I had the pastrami which came with pickle and coleslaw and it was delicious. The chicken gumbo soup is also great

I went there today after going to the Mendy’s on 34th St for many years and was very disappointed. The soup was the same but they gave me a half sandwich of very fatty corned beef. They did not have very much to choose from. I would not return.

Wow this place is a total ripoff. Went here to get something different. Got the matzoh ball soup and half pastrami. It was very little portions and not that good for $ 13. Didn’t check the reviews and regret it. Don’t know how they stay in business.

Wish I could give zero stars. Way too salty. Weird oils. No possible way of eating remotely healthy here. A company I work for sometimes orders from here. I don’t know why. I always give it a chance, I take two bites of a sandwich, gag, then throw it all out. Such a waste. Do notttt recommend.

When I moved into Murray HIll I thought maybe this would be my Kosher Deli — but after one trip in I never returned. The food was only so-so, it didn’t feel very clean, and everyone in there was RUDE. I haven’t been back since. There is too much competition in NYC to forget to be friendly to your customers.

By far one of the worst Jewish Delis I have visited in my life. My sandwich tastes like shoe leather and the meat had a funny smell. The good thing about my meal was the chips and the cream soda. Which could have been bought anywhere.

I rarely bother to review restaurants on Unilocal, but today I had to. I felt ethically compelled by the need to warn strangers away from a bad mistake. For six dollars, I got a deeply insulting chicken noodle soup, probably the worst I have ever had. A greasy clear yellow broth which may or may not have contained chicken, and some egg noodles, and that was it. The line was short, now I know why. If I weren’t dehydrated, I would not have consumed this. I’m giving up on the noodles. There were plenty of them, but they had no flavor at all. The guy next to me was eating a sandwich and soup from Mindys and said the sandwich was okay, so perhaps that actually is the saving grace. I guess they don’t make the meat or the bread, they just assemble it. But don’t eat anything they actually cook, if you have a choice. There are 20 other restaurants around you, look around, choose something else.

it’s really pricey for really mediocre food and service. the matzoh ball soup is bland and clearly its not made with any intent on being anything other. there’s much better deli’s in the area that you can get josher food that’s actually delicious and worth the price.

I ordered the«goulash.» The large menu on the wall said $ 10.95. The lady charged me $ 11.95… not a huge deal, but when I pointed out the error, I got more than my dollar in attitude back. I was going to let it go, but after rudely being told this was«Impossible»(it clearly wasn’t), I wanted my money back. The young lady attempted to get the attention of the manager for a few minutes, and when he wouldn’t get off the phone, she made the decision to hand my dollar back with a few grunts of disapproval. On a side note — I would not call what I ate«goulash.» I will not be heading back to Mendy’s…

Bleh! Food is terrible! Sandwich has no condiments. Each bite was punishment. Pickle had a funky taste. The only rewarding part of the meal was the potato salad.

The entire menu is sub par on ever level. Just avoid this lunch spot like the plague. Save your cash and get a real Jewish deli sandwich at Sarge’s or someplace similar!

Foul, rank, disgusting. Pickles that were so old and shriveled they were dry inside. Inedible tasteless coleslaw. and as for the«fresh» turkey and the pastrami — a convenience store has better quality meats!!!

It was almost 12 noon and I had a meeting in 10 minutes that I knew would last at least 90 minutes. My stomach was already growling so I needed a quick bite to hold me over. I headed downstairs to the food court and saw Mendys Kosher deli was selling their kosher hotdogs for $ 1.99… went in, ordered one well-done with ketchup and sauerkraut. It tasted ok, nothing special… but 30 minutes later nausea started to settle in and it continued for the rest of the afternoon despite all the selzer i drank and Tums i chewed. A little while after i got home, i threw up about 3 times. I did eventually feel better after the next morning but a 99% chance, i got food poisoning from this hot dog. So i went back to Mendy’s to voice my complaint; i admit they did seem concerned, but I’m definitely not returning. It should be noted they also have a «Grade Pending» sign in their window that’s been hanging for the past couple months.
