I’ve been a resident of the East Cillage for over 30 years. Michael gives the same if not a better haircut as any of the shops that have popped up in the East Village over the past few years that cost double or more than the $ 12 he charges. If you haven’t tried him, definitely go there. I’m sure you’ll be more than satisfied, and you’ll become a «regular».

Quick in and out. No hassle. I always get my hair done how I want it by Michael. Great guy. Excellent price. You really can’t get better without being hassled in the area. I’m happy to where I’ve been back five consecutive times.

I love this place. I took a chance on it when I was briefly subletting in the EVillage and have been coming back since. I’m a queer lady who has a very boyish haircut and was pretty worried about going to a NY barber by myself. Michael has his resident hairdresser(the one lady working in the shop) cut my hair, but she does a great job, all for $ 15!

Michael is the man. I’ve been going here for 4 years now and even though I’ve only had a couple other barbers in my life, he’s been the best. He will always accommodate me if I come around closing time and sometimes he even offers up some vodka or scotch if he likes you. Oh yeah I forgot to mention: $ 10!!! Can’t be beat. I hope to live in this neighborhood forever just so I can keep looking fresh to death!

I’ve been going to Michael for a few years. He’s good, close, and cheap. Most importantly my haircut is just the way I like it.

Great guy, cheap prices, adequate cut. Michael and his son are always packed, his commentary is highly entertaining, and if you ever walk past his window with an attractive girl he will interrogate you about her for the next 10 cuts, in a good way(he loves blondes). The cut itself is nothing to write home about but it gets the job done. If your looking for the latest and greatest in style, this ain’t your spot. If you want shorter hair and a chuckle then mikes your guy. For someone w/a receeding hairline and limited style like myself it seems to work out just fine!

Although I can’t attest to the quality of service provided to ladies, I can say this barber shop is as good a value as any. How Michael’s stays afloat charging $ 10/cut in Manhattan is beyond me. I’ve never been disappointed with my haircut leaving the little East Village shop, and my time spent there has always been enjoyable. Michael’s a kind, humble man and he’s always fun to talk to. Having moved here from Uzbekistan he has some great stories. He’s dedicated to his shop and customers, never taking a day off, and last night he stayed open late just to see me and even later to see another customer who came in a bit later than I did.
