Mister Softie is a must every time I am in NYC. My fav is the cherry dipped vanilla cone. Never tried anything like it not sure if it’s the mystique of being in NYC or if it really is that good! Can’t wait to have one this Spring.

NYC is an ice cream city for me, I have ice cream multiple times during the day when I come back on vacation… and Mister Softie is a must-stop for me… I always try to find the truck that’s sits close to the Apple store on the SE side of Central Park. My go-to flavor? Vanilla dipped in chocolate with sprinkles, mmmmm

Mister Softie is nearly everywhere in the Big Apple on mobile vendors. In fact every day from April through September at 4pm a truck pulls next door of my neighbor’s house on my block receiving few business. Whenever I requested the Good Humor strawberry bar, the ice cream man almost always have none in stock as there is never a «out of stock» sign for clients to prepare for a second choice. In addition, ice cream from any Mister Softie trucks are never served cold or frozen as by the time received in clients’ hands the ice cream is half-way melted. Personally, I prefer my ice cream to be frozen solid as I take my sweet time enjoy melting in my mouth.

Hot dog & Mr. Softie vendors NEVER post price lists to let you know what you’re getting yourself into Buying dawgs & ice cream is supposed to be FUN. Street vendors ought to be required to post their prices in return for using public property. The hot dog guys, too… no bad surprises, confrontations, alterations. Why am I the first person to rate Mister Softie… really now?! I haven’t lived in Manhattan for 8 years, and I still miss it. It’s a NYC thing. Who do you run to on a scorchingly hot and humid city day, when the heat coming up off the assphalt at midnight is almost as oppressive as the sun beating down on your head at noon? Tired of that condensation coming off every window-unit air conditioner that you pass beneath while walking down the sidewalk? Then walk on over to that little white truck parked at the corner and grab yourself a cone… maybe even a double… dipped in chocolate or cherry. If it has been a really bad day, treat yourself to some chocolate or rainbow sprinkles on top. Really now, people… show some luv for our friendly frozen treat vendors. MISTERSOFTIEROCKS!
