History

Established in 2008.

Once upon a time, people in NYC were stuck in their homes and cafes working alone. Then, slowly, they started to band together to form communities and share space together. New Work City arose out of those early gatherings as the first successful effort to build a dedicated coworking space in Manhattan.

New Work City was built by and for people who share a set of values and needs that are a little different than that of the usual worker. We’re here to support each other as we pursue work we believe in and hope to make it easier for others to join us along the way.

We’re open to all who want to participate in and enrich our culture. While the main way we gather is by sharing workspace, the space is really just a delivery medium for the real thing we seek: real, healthy, human relationships.

Business Owner

Tony is the Mayor of New Work City. He likes helping people work for themselves and is probably making sure everyone’s having a good time right now. Tony organizes a variety of events ranging from workshops to happy hours to karaōke nights. Talk to him about any questions you might have about NWC!
