Phylis Lynd specializes in vocal technique that provides a lifetime of healthy vocal use. She was trained under a Philharmonic scholarship with a Masters’s degree in voice from Manhattan School of Music. For thirty years, she performed on radio, TV and in concerts, as well as in international clubs that welcome repertoire in various languages. Currently, she is on the vocal teacher referral list of NYU Medical Center Voice Pathology Department, and Mount Sinai Voice Disorder Center.
Phyllis is a voice teacher who specializes in teaching beginners as well as advanced students who need help with a more efficient technique. Phyllis Lynd offers private voice lessons, and small vocal classes.
History
Established in 1985.
Phyllis Lynd’s performing carreer consisted of a regular radio show, «the Phyllis Lynd Show» on WGYN FM in New York. During her active performing years, Phyllis did guest performances on radio in Montréal, Ottowa, San Juan and Miami after having performed at concerts and clubs in those cities. She also appeared as a guest artist on CBS-TV in New York and BBC-TV in London.
After giving up travelling for performing, Phyllis took an assignment teaching voice at Hunter College, where she taught for eight years. She was a member of the admissions committee of the High School of Music and Art for aspiring vocal students for 10 years. Currently, she teaches small classes as well as individual lessons in her private studio.
