We had Smart Closet Solutions redo our bedroom and linen closets. The process was simple: Ben came and measured, emailed a blueprint, returned (at my request) to tweak the design, and then the construction was scheduled. The only problem was the wait — this is a busy company (because they are so good) and the holidays interfered as well, so we had to wait a couple of weeks. However, when Ben and an associate came to do the work, they were finished with both closets within four hours! Although I was told that I had lost some hanging space in order to build cubbies and shelves, I did not find this to be a problem — all of our clothes and shoes now fit neatly into our closet. And it looks beautiful — I open it up several times a day just to stare at how organized I have suddenly become! Similarly with the linen closet — there is so much more organized space in there that I can now find anything I need. We are so happy with this work and we will highly recommend this company to anyone who wants to simplify and harmonize their storage needs!

Very, very pleased with SCS from start to finish. Ben clearly takes pride in ownership and doing a great job to make sure his customers are happy. SCS was very responsive to my initial inquiry, through the quote to final installation; all done within a month of my first call. Absolutely great service, quality and overall experience! Ben was a pleasure to work with, he is very knowledgeable and will steer you in the right direction. Smart closet solutions is a family run custom closet company that really gets the job done right. I had two and half closets that really needed organizing. I wanted to support a local business, but not at the expense of quality. Smart closet definitely fit the bill. Ben came by and took all the measurements and listened to what I needed. he made some smart suggestions. Within two weeks, they were back installing my closets. Great service. Quality product. The systems aren’t 100% customizable (they use standardized parts), but the installation team does a great job of making the solution conform to the idiosyncrasies of your space. We’ve had a closet installed in both our previous and current co-​ops, as well as a bookshelf. They’re easy to work with, professional, and very courteous. That said, they’re also very busy (no doubt because of the many referrals they must get), so there can be a wait of a few weeks. But the wait is worth it.

As part of a gut renovation of our Union Square apartment, we decided to build custom closets for our three kids’ closets. We were all set to go with California Closets, but some of our web research pointed us to Smart Closet Solutions — they suggested that we would get better service from a family-​run business. We couldn’t be happier — the estimate was accurate and clear and the closets are great and high quality. Perhaps the most important part of the experience was the high touch service that we got from Ben, the owner of the business. He personally came out for the estimate, and oversaw the installation. He made sure we were happy with every aspect of the project. When we discovered a small imperfection in the wood, he personally came out the day after the job to repair it to our satisfaction. It gives us great peace of mind to know that this job is backed by a person and a business with honesty and integrity. We don’t have first-​hand experience with the big national brands, but i’d be surprised if they have anywhere near the level of customer service as Smart Closet Solutions.

Smart Closet Solutions turned my wasted-​space front closet into a wonderful pantry, extending the size of my small kitchen. I lcan’t begin to tell you how much I love my new closets! The front closet/​pantry has already made my kitchen feel twice as big as it is, and I’m not even finished arranging it. The lazy susans are incredibly helpful, and I may end up asking them to install another one or two in the future. Everything is so sturdy and solid. My bedroom closet is amazingly easy to organize now, and I have new places to keep things (in the small center shelves) that previously just cluttered up my life.
The whole company was a delight to deal with. Highly recommend!

Smart Custom Closets was a very easy vendor to deal with. After setting up an in house consultation, Ben came by and measured up the closet, offered suggestions on how to best use the space and gave us an idea of the budget for the project. A few days later, a formalized quote was sent over for us to approve. Once approved, we scheduled installation for 1 week later.
Ben and a helper came on time and knocked out a fast, clean and professional installation of the closet. When they packed up, there was no mess or fuss and the closet looked great. The price was right and the schedule was met. Oh and they take Paypal! Nice!
Will do business with them again.
