I didn’t have any problem with the office but Dr. Shah was, for me, a total disaster. I explained him about my recurrent UTI, hoping to get to the clue of it and he told me that he had no idea. That’s it. In that moment I wish I had walked away and suggested him to pretend I wasn’t there. This experience went to my deductibles and I had to pay $ 420+80(urinocolture) for NOTHING. I will never go to see him again, for sure.

I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to have Dr. Shah as my physician. With his excellent thorough exam and his prognosis changed my quality of life. I have been to other urologists in the past with a quick 5 min exam and told to do exercises and be on my way without any relief of issues at hand.
I was at the time distressed in planning a major vacation and with Dr. Shah expert diagnosis, my vacation was remarkable without any undue duress with my health issue. He spends quality time with you asking precise questions and is thorough. His manner puts you at ease in discussing the symptoms enabling him to make a prognosis.
Yes there are issues with staff but well worth being patient to have Dr. Shah as your physician. As I left messages with his service and staff that I needed to speak with him concerning my medication without a call back. Dr. did not receive any of my messages. Luckily I resolved the issue but in mentioning my delimena at my appointment, Dr. Shah gave me his email address to direct any inquiries I should have.
Thank you Dr. Shah for your excellent care, I am truly grateful.

This was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had in a doctor’s office. Let me list everything that happened:
1. Call for an appointment. They tell me I can’t get in for TWO months. I wait. Go to appointment. Wait, what appointment? Yeaaaa, apparently they magically had all of my contact information (although I’d never been there in my life) but they didn’t have an appointment on file.
2. They called me three THREE times to ask if I have insurance in 2 days. This tells me that they do not communicate at all in the office.
3. Finally saw the doctor and he’s nice enough. He tells me to call back if my medication at a different dosage is cheaper at the pharmacy and he would call it in for me. It was. And WOW. I talked to them three times on the phone and went into the office TWO times to get it changed.
4. When I went into the office for the second time trying to get it changed, I went to the first desk. The women was on the office phone talking to someone in her family about her plans after work and what kind of transportation she was going to use. She finaly acknowledges me and says «Step down one, sweetie.» I’m not your sweetie. I go to the next woman in line and she completely and blatantly ignores me while she looks at her computer. A full 2 minutes goes by and I finally see the boss. Thank GOD, cause that’s the only way I’ve gotten any service from these wenches.
5. And finally. The icing on the cake. Sweet! I can get my script now. Walk to the pharmacy like a boss, only to get there and it isn’t filled yet. «We don’t have all of your info.» Huh? I’ve gotten scripts filled here before. Give my phone number… yes, I’m in the system. The freaking pharmacist has to ask me questions to verify my identity because the doctor’s office gave him the wrong birthday. Like, really wrong. Wrong month, day, and year. Unbelievable.

this is a review of the doctor shah’s office. i wont be able to review the actual dr because i was not able to see the delicate genius himself.
after waiting 5 weeks for an appointment i spent over an hour in the waiting room of the delicate genius’s office (and i arrived 15 minutes before scheduled appt time).
after that time, i was brought into a separate reception area were I was instructed to pay the $ 30 co-​pay prior to my meeting with the genius. I agreed and expected I would be taken into the genius’s office shortly after payment. Nope. The super delicate genius still had 3 more patients in front of me!
Let me get this straight. These jerks expected me to wait nearly 2 hours to see this guy and expect payment up front to boot. As if after my appointment Im going to run out of the office without paying. Right, because they don’t have any of my information. Its just a complete smack in the face of the patient. And thankfully, Im not very sick. But can you imagine treating actual sick patients like this?
Find a different dick doc. No matter how good this guy may or may not be, you DO NOT want to put up with his office.

Ok, I get it. It’s hard to find a good doctor in New York City. Dr. Shah’s urology office is a colossal disaster from start to finish, though, and is no doubt leading the race to the bottom.
Highlights of my many experiences there:
— A woman at the reception desk once verified my identity by putting a chart in front of me and asking if it was my handwriting on the medical forms
— My maintenance prescription, which requires no real monitoring, won’t be refilled unless I take off a half day of work, trek up to Union Square, and sit in their office for at least 2 hours every 6 months. Of that time, no more than 5 minutes is with Dr. Shah.
— The staff — whose behavior more resembles that of a group of high school sophomores rather than a medical office — each time I get on the phone, tells me that I «no-​showed» for an appointment last year, citing this (incorrect) blemish on my file when I ask why prescriptions weren’t called in or why I never received a phone call back
Dr. Shah himself seems like a nice enough guy, but I’ve barely met him and can really only base my review on the rest of the staff I’ve interacted with.
