He has been honing his craft as a masterful board certified plastic surgeon over the past 14 years in cosmetic operations such as rhinoplasty, face and neck lift, breast augmentation, breast lift, abdominoplasty, and liposuction. He also performs reconstructive surgery for children and adults and knows how to create great scars for complex problems. It takes a skillful, experienced and artistic board certified plastic surgeon to restore, reshape and create a harmonious balance of your face and body. Dr. Tae Ho Kim is a board certified plastic surgeon in Manhattan, NY, and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He serves the communities of the West Village, Greenwich Village, East Village, Soho, Tribeca, Chelsea, and all of Manhattan as well as Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Long Island, Staten Island, and Westchester.

As one of only 8300 board certified plastic surgeons in the USA, he has 15 years of experience in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Kim opened his office in 2014 in the historic West Village of Manhattan, after practicing in Los Angeles and Westchester, NY.

As a top doctor of New York selected by Castle Connolly and US News and World Report, Dr. Kim’s philosophy is to offer honest surgical and non-​surgical solutions, such as Botox and Sculptra, in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Tae Ho Kim is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has been in academic and private practice for 15 years in Los Angeles and New York. He graduated from Cornell University with honors and earned his medical degree at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His experience in Tissue Engineering at Harvard University solidified his general surgery training and his understanding of bio-​materials has led to an intricate algorithm for Botox and facial fillers. He is a trainer for Restylane SILK and Sculptra.

After his Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Under the mentorship of Dr. John Reinisch, a true master and pioneer in plastic surgery, Dr. Kim learned the artful ways to create harmony and balance of the face and body for children and adults, which he continues to practice today.

I live and work in the neighborhood, and whenever I can, choose to do business with those that do as well.
Dr. Kim runs a small practice just blocks from my own business and home. Dagny, his assistant, was my first contact with his practice. She was attentive, professional, and totally flexible as to my schedule and needs. She did not seem to mind at all about my rescheduling the appointment a few times, and she answered my preliminary questions with alacrity and made an extra effort to reassure me that Dr. Kim would be the consummate professional that he is.
My procedure involved removing excess skin from massive weight loss back in 2007. It was done in Dr. Kim’s office, with no general anesthesia which, over two surgeries, would have been in the $ 20,000 range alone because we would have had to conduct the surgeries in a hospital and incur all the costs inherent with that.
Dr. Kim is as affable and informative a doctor as I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with; at no time whatsoever was there the sense of being hurried and more importantly, overcharged. In fact, for the $$$ rating here on Unilocal,I’m going to have to disagree. Dr. Kim’s price for my work came in dramatically lower than the other surgeons I considered.
From start to finish, the surgery and follow up appointments were conducted with absolute professionalism. I was given Dr. Kim’s direct cell phone line if «[you] need to call at any time, for any reason” — directives from the doctor himself.
Also, his skill in suturing left me with a scar that will be nearly gone when it is done healing. I know this because I have other scars that resemble it, but none were left with the look of Dr. Kim’s work.
In short, I cannot recommend this practice enough. Feel free to message me privately with any other questions.

My visit to West Village Plastic Surgery was, hands down, one of the best experiences I’ve had with a physician.
Dr. Kim is incredibly kind, helpful and knowledgeable. He’s an expert in his field and spent plenty of time talking me through my options. I never felt rushed and I know Dr. Kim truly cared about reaching my desired results in the most effective way.
I came in with one idea in mind, and Dr. Kim advised against it but told me what the correct procedure would be. He did it the same day and I was in and out within 45 minutes.
So happy with the outcome and would recommend Dr. Kim to anyone. So glad I found him.

My twin girls were born in 2013. One of them was born with Syndactyly, a birth defect where the fingers are webbed. Three fingers on each hand were fused together since birth. After visiting doctor after doctor to find a pediatric plastic surgeon that was qualified and trusted, we found Dr Kim. He became the obvious choice for us. He came highly recommended and is a world re-​known pediatric surgeon. Panic set in during our first visit when we learned that he did not accept our insurance. Those fears were short lived, he promised to work with us and our insurance. Dr Kim performed a total of four surgeries on my daughter over the course of a year. He went out of his way to alleviate any fears; physically, emotionally and financially that my family had. All four surgeries went better than expected and my daughter is now caught up with her twin in all aspects of life, including banging on a piano lol. My wife and I owe a great debt that we know we will probably never be able to repay to Dr Kim (figuratively), he gave our daughter the opportunity to have a normal childhood.

Dr. Kim and his staff, Sophie and Tessa, are super nice, very professional, and work very quickly. I booked an appt. by email, filled out the paperwork on an iPad, saw Dr. Kim, and was in and out in 15 minutes. Dr. Kim has a good sense of humor and good bedside manner. Highly recommend!

I am so happy I found Dr. Kim and can highly recommend him for those that are looking for good but natural results. I have had my share of fillers in the past and nothing seemed to stick or work until I found Dr. Kim. He recommend Sculptra and I was skeptical to be honest but he explained the process in full detail, was not pushy and managed my expectations. I have had my second session and could not be more pleased. The result is a natural and fresh looking appearance and I for sure can see that my cheeks are nicely filled out but in a very natural way (mostly because it is your own collagen that builds over time with this procedure) You do have to have patience with Sculptra as it works over time and dr. Kim was very clear about that. I feel like I am getting back to how I used to look when I was younger and not a different unnatural look. Just a better me! Dr Kim is extremely skillful which I believe is a must when dealing with injectables. It all comes down to the expertise of the injector and Dr. Kim is an expert. He is also wonderful with Botox too. I also have to mention his wonderful assistant Sophie who is highly efficient and very, very sweet. You really feel welcome in their practice and there is a warm and homely ambiance. I am so happy I found Dr Kim and Sophie and can highly recommend them for your anti aging needs.

Dr. Kim is experienced, knowledgeable, and skillful. He takes his time to really evaluate your face, gives his honest opinion about which procedures will best enhance your looks, and steers you away from any that won’t. I could not be happier with the procedures and the work that he has done for me.

I had had reconstruction of my nose after a swimming accident in 1998. Although the surgery back then was a success, I wasn’t completely satisfied with the appearance. Two years ago, I started seeing surgeons about refining the nose, which I assumed would be a simple procedure. None of the doctors I spoke with felt that they’d be able to correct the appearance without risking my ability to breathe properly.
Then I met Dr. Kim. He explained, clearly and concisely, how what I thought was a simple refinement was actually a bit more complicated, but that the results that I wanted could be achieved.
It’s been a year and a half since my surgery with Dr. Kim. The results were better than I had hoped. And it did not affect my ability to breathe. The look is so natural that friends who were unaware of the surgery would look at me and simply say that I looked good, not that I looked different.
Making referrals to Dr. Kim, which I’ve done, is easy. All I have to do is point to my nose. Dr. Kim is a great person, and a wonderful surgeon.

I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Tae. He was so knowledgeable and sane and clearly an expert surgeon! He explained everything clearly, accurately and in a way that made me really know what to expect. I’m nervous about having things done and I get claustrophobic at the slightest procedure. But, Dr. Tae’s way /​warmth made me feel incredibly relaxed and in the best hands. Good docs are so hard to find. And the fact that his philosophy is «the natural look» seems especially rare AND SO NEEDED. I would run to West Village Plastic Surgery before doing a cosmetic procedure with anyone else. I hope you like him as much as I did.

I coach professional actors. I recommend if they need anything done with their face that
they go to a plastic surgeon (not a dermatologist, but one who knows the anatomy
below the surface) and that plastic surgeon would be Dr. Tae Ho Kim.
He has done spectacular work — especially with Botox and Sculptra. You see the natural
face and expression, but the problem that was distracting has been eliminated. It is crucial in our business — especially in New York, versus LA — that actors look real and are able to express. They also want to look their best at whatever age they are. He evaluates the entire face as a whole — not simply fixing a problem area. He understands natural beauty and how the face works as a whole to be its best.
He also happens to be a true joy to interact with. A gem of a human being.
