Eating Bento Box: The Japanese Way

Bento (bentō) is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento holds rice, fish or meat, with pickled or cooked vegetables, usually in a box-shaped container. Bento boxes are readily available in many places throughout Japan, including convenience stores, bento shops (bentō-ya), railway stations, and department stores.

In ancient times in Japan, people might have transported lunches in natural materials such as leaves or bamboo. Later, some began interweaving strips of bamboo or willow to create boxes called bento.

History

Established in 2013.

We are new in UES. We have the same new with Tanoshi Sushi, but we are serving totally different kind of Japanese Food (Bento). We just want to make top quality Bento Box in NYC to show what Bento should be.
