Moumita is an attorney who cares about you! Not only does Moumita try to find solutions for every client, she believes in giving back to the community and provides pro bono services to the New York City Bankruptcy Assistance Project and Sanctuary for Families.

Ms. Rahman brings with her a unique perspective and understanding as a second-​generation immigrant and is firmly committed to building strong community values.

She is licensed to practice law in New York State and admitted to the United States District Courts of the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. She is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Although we did not retain Moumita for our case given personal circumstances, she was very helpful during our initial interactions with her. She seemed extremely willing to help and did not care simply about getting her payment. She was happy to answer as many questions as we had despite not having been paid a legal fee yet. Moreover, she is extremely knowledgeable about immigration issues and has reasonable legal fees. Given my brief experience with her, I would highly recommend her services.

I would like to recommend Ms. Rahman very highly for her unbiased, honest approach to providing immigration legal services. Anyone who has looked for professional help in getting a green card immediately realizes this field is full of lawyers out to take advantage of people. They all seem sleazy and very pushy. We hired Moumita last year after meeting with her the first time. Right away we felt comfortable and confident that my husband would be in good hands with Moumita as his immigration attorney, and we were right. From the very beginning she was reassuring and always quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. I was a nervous wreck, worried that my husband might not end up getting his green card for whatever reason. I always felt better after speaking with her. The whole process took about 8 months from the date we filed, just as she said it would. She always kept us up-​to-​date. About a week before our green card interview, she prepared us on what to expect, what to bring and how to properly address the officer (don’t speak unless spoken to, keep our answers brief and to the point, etc). She came to the interview with us and waited the entire time (it was a longer than normal wait, a couple of hours). During the wait, we got to know her a bit more. She’s a very down to earth and warm person. It was great to have her by our side during the interview. The interview went well and a couple of weeks later my husband received his green card! From the very beginning to the very end, Moumita was AWESOME. We really couldn’t have chosen a better attorney. Her fee was very reasonable. She is a gem, and we will be going back to her when it comes time to start the process for my husband’s citizenship. In fact, we already have an appointment set! It is a few years down the road, but we intend to keep it! We HIGHLY recommend Moumita. She’s the best!

Let me first start off by saying I do not remember the last time I wrote a review (…have I ever?) But I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Rahman when I filed bankruptcy last year and felt compelled to share my experience with other New Yorkers who are in need of excellent legal support.
I contacted Ms. Rahman after reading other reviews here on Unilocal when I became overwhelmed with credit card and other debt. I spoke to many, many other lawyers before thankfully contacting her. I remember anxiously calling Ms. Rahman, all right, I was panicked, and speaking to an empathetic and composed professional who made me feel at ease. She was able to guide me through the confusing process and was there with me the entire way, from beginning to end.
Despite my own feelings about the situation I found myself in, Ms. Rahman’s non-​judgmental, supportive approach was greatly appreciated. I felt that she truly cared about me as a client, and treated me with respect.
Her office was very convenient to get to and she was able to work around my busy work schedule to meet.
Although I do not live in the tri-​state area anymore, I plan on continuing to utilize her legal services after she made a terrifying process into something painless and easy to get through. Thanks so much Moumita! Truly an excellent attorney!

I usually write reviews for restaurants, but I had a good experience with this firm so I am writing a review. I didn’t end up retaining Ms. Rahman’s services, so I won’t give the full five stars until I do. However, I called the firm regarding a legal issue and Ms. Rahman was able to answer my questions and point me in the right direction. She was prompt in returning my call and made me feel at ease. NYC is full of attorneys and I was feeling a bit overwhelmed in who to call. Turns out I didn’t need an attorney for my particular issue, but I would definitely give this firm a call if I had another issue come up.

I was introduced to Moumita through a friend of mine, and boy am I thankful for being introduced to her!
I talked to about 20 lawyers before I had a chance to discuss what I needed with her. Most of the lawyers were skeezy and I could tell they were just going to nickel and dime me. Not Moumita though! I needed a contract written between me and some of my clients and I discussed all the little details. She gave me a flat rate to get the job done which I appreciated.
