The Time New York Hotel

The room is too small and the restroom is terribly small. The toilet is leaking like crazy and the water nearly fills out the room’s floor. Not a pleasant place to stay if you care about space.

Having lived in the USA for five years we were leaving and this is the hotel we chose to spend our last night in. The room was beautifully decorated and very modern. They had thought of your every technological need and most importantly it was cheap.
Considering it was NYC the room was pretty spacious and comfortably housed our 4 large suitcases and hand luggage.
The view from the room was pretty terrible but we weren’t in the room for long and the road wasn’t all that noisy, just general New York noises.
The staff at the hotel were friendly. When we asked for things such as ice or weighing scales they were brought up to the room promptly. Then on leaving the concierge organised our taxi to JFK which worked out well. We have stayed in 4 or 5 hotels in NYC before but iv got to say that this was one was one of my favourites. It’s centrally located, clean and comfortable with a touch of luxury that makes you feel like you’ve had a treat.

I just stayed here for my boyfriends birthday weekend. It was absolutely perfect! The staff is amazing! Josh helped us to our room and gave us a tour… The rooms are so modern (the tv is in the mirror!!). The rooms were also very very clean and spacious for a Nyc hotel. We also met another hotel employee, Griffin who was very friendly and even brought us a complimentary bottle of wine for my boyfriends birthday! Overall this is a great hotel and we will definitely be back!

What can I say the customer services is amazing!!! the rooms are gorgeous and Miguel the lobby ambassador was wonderful. There were 6 of us and we need 3 rooms on the same floor the front desk receptionist made the accommodations with no extra charge!!! The next day at check-​out everyone was helpful. Miguel held our bags at the hotel so that we could continue sight-​seeing in Time square when it was time for us to collect them he brought them to us and packed our car!!! For this being my first time in New York the Time Hotel made the experience a very memorable one and I am definitely going back and would recommend that you stay there as well!!! Loved it!!!

Seasoned travelers. We flew up to NYC for a couple nights to catch a couple shows. Though the rooms are small, we weren’t there to spend time in the room except to sleep… and sleep well we did. The beds (and pillows) were AWESOME. Our room was quiet. Black out shades rule. The staff was accommodating. Location IDEAL. PRICE was super. Definitely will return.

This hotel was super cute and in an awesome location. The room was newly renovated and seemed like a bargain for booking it day of on a Saturday for $ 200 /​night. I would give this hotel 5-​stars, but I had one major issue with the room — the doors were not sound proof and I was constantly awoken by the slamming of doors from people in other hotel rooms. It was so loud, it sounded like someone was coming into my room. My friend complained about this as well. I am a light sleeper who goes out late and expects to sleep in until noon, so that was a big issue for me. Wish it didn’t have that issue, otherwise it would be my go to hotel.

Pros: staff is very helpful and friendly, wifi is free, very conveniently placed, clean rooms with a helpful button you can press to show that you need the room serviced. You can get free access to the local Equinox Fitness club in Rockefellar Center.
Cons: The design of the rooms is borderline hazardous. All stone tile and glass. The only wooden door is the one leading to the hallway outside. In the middle of the night, my husband walked into the clear glass partition between the bedroom and the bath and nearly gave himself a concussion. The sliding glass doors to our closet kept getting stuck and then wham, I’d get my finger caught in between plates and would be bruised the entire time. The design doesn’t account for a toilet hanger, so that means the roll has to be placed on the nearby sink (which is usually wet). Also, why aren’t there glasses in the bathroom for when you brush your teeth?
The designer they chose for this place certainly wasn’t concerned with utility or safety, just style — which is circa 1985 Cold Art Museum.

WARNING: LONG ASS REVIEW
I opened the door to my hotel room and it only opened about 75 percent of the way. «That’s weird!» I thought. But as I entered I realized it was because the room was so frigging tiny that a small desk was slightly blocking it from the other side. As I entered I had to maneuver my rolling suitcase at an angle because the bed was about one foot from the door. I actually started laughing because it was ridiculous. The room was literally a small bed and this tiny desk that blocked the door.
I move onto the bathroom (I am still laughing at this point btw.) The bathroom has tiled floors that have some cracks in them and the shower curtain is like a white heavy tarp-​thing that is too long for the bath and folds up at the bottom of the shower and so there is very little actually floor that isn’t covered by the folded up tarp thing. Also, when you get in the shower, the tarp blocks out most of the light so you get to wash in the dark. Goths would LOVE this place!
The room itself doesn’t look that bad on the surface, as you can probably tell from their photos but it’s like if Forever 21 was a hotel. Probably OK for a few months and then everything starts unraveling. The wifi was spotty even though it cost $ 20 a day and to top it off I was there during a heat wave and the AC was broken– which I only realized around 1am. When I tried to phone room service I realized the phone didn’t work, so I went downstairs to find someone and the whole guest services podiums had disappeared. It was like Harry Potter styles. POOF. It was gone. I had no way of contacting anyone. I had a conference to attend that day and I suffered from intense dehydration from sleeping in a sauna. That same day I checked out and discovered they have a curtain that covers up the guest services area after hours. I complained about my experience but the guy just shrugged and literally said to me,“Wow. That sucks.“
On the upside I got a good deal on this place and it’s smack dab in the middle of Times Square.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel! Rooms are very modern with a cool layout. Hotel is hip. However, my only issue was how I could hear my neighbors and I could also hear whenever someone closed their door.

I stayed the first night in a regular room, it was so modern, clean and cool. The hotel just has that «wow!» factor — great deal for the price.
The second night my friend came to stay with me and we upgraded to a suite. it was gorgeous, with great views of Times Square and Hudson river. Very roomy and again so cool & modern.
I have stayed in other lower price hotels in Times Square that make you want to kill yourself. The Time is great!

We were treated as if we were old friends. Arriving early to check in, Howard, at the Front Desk was quickly ready to accommodate us. When I said we’d be happy to come back (we had a matinée performance to see) we were quickly upgraded to a larger room on the top floor facing the front of the building.
The room was comfortable and in terms of size, completely in line with other mid-​town NYC hotels we have stayed in. Clean. Comfortable. Roomy enough.
The staff was never anything less than friendly, going out of their way to make sure everything we needed was taken care of.
The location couldn’t be better if you’re going to any Broadway or Off-​Broadway play.
Yes, the building is under construction but there was no inconvenience other than having to take the elevator to the second floor to check in.
I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again and I would recommend The Time to my friends.

If you are coming to NYC then look no further than The Time Hotel !
I am such a fussy little snob when it comes to hotels and this one ticks every single box.
The hotel has been renovated and is simply stunning, the staff are so amazing and everything is brand new!
The bar is super sleek and a great way to end your day, do not look any further The Time is it .

The location is great but that’s about it. The hotel is under construction and it’s very dusty and noisy. The rooms are very tiny and if you are claustrophobic then this place is not for you.
Cleaning crew often forgets to replace the shampoo/​conditioners, dust is not moped up.
Not many services in the hotel so you are basically paying for a bed a block away from Timesquare.
Best advice, if you just want a bed, save your money and look at other places. Too pricy for what it offers.

So far the service really poor! The hotel is still under construction. Arriving early in the morning, you are invited to «relax» in the lounge with loud music and TV on loud! The staff are «unable» to mute the TV or lower the music. Construction going on around you. Not much relaxing. Let’s see how the rooms are.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Very modern, relaxing feel. Love the extra security at the door and lobby on 2^nd floor too. Made me feel very safe and at home. Highly recommend!

My familiy and I stayed for six nights at The Time Hotels. Even though they were redoing the hotel, we felt welcome and were taken good care of. It was no noise, but the elevators was working hard for both guests and workers. We had to wait long to get down from the 10^th floor in the morning…
The room was delicious designed and It was clean and delicate. We slept very well in the lovely bed.

Is the worst hotel I ever stayed in my life.
They are literally under construction and the noisy is terrible at 7am.
The staff are terrible, nobody want to work there, nobody knows how to solve a problem, they are des organized and impolite. If I were you, I’ll Berber stay in this place! Good location, but, what for? I just love NYC and this place is not for this city. My husband and I had a lot of problems with this hotel and the manager even came to talk to us. Shame!!! Another thing, I was «arrested» at the reception. I don’t know why my husband’s credit card doesn’t work (we were using this card since we arrived), but of course, at this hotel the card was declined, so I needed to stay at the reception while my husband went to the bank! Nightmare!
My husband went to the bank and did nothing, he came back to the hotel and the card worked!

1 star for the staff (they deserve 5 stars but the hotel was so gross it negates the nice and helpful staff)
Stayed 6÷8−6÷9. DO NOT STAY IN A ROOM BELOW THE 6^th floor. They are renovating and anything under the 6^th floor is not finished and is not suitable to be booked. The renovations started ON OUR FLOOR (3^rd floor) AT 8AM. This kind of ruins a restful morning.
The mattress was smaller than the box spring and was old gross and lumpy. The sheets were pilled and worn. The bathroom was gross. Make sure you see your room before you check in or specify that you want a renovated room. There is convenient parking across the street. $ 30 for 24 hours which is pretty good for NYC.
Beware of the TIME HOTEL.

I stayed at The Time Hotel for three nights in early January 2015. I stayed in a «Superior Queen» room.
My room was OK sized (for New York City). The bed was a little mushy, but it slept OK. The bathroom was small, but I really didn’t care.
Two gripes. First, the entire hotel, including my room, is a bit run down. It was clean enough, but the whole place could use an update. Second, the heater in my room was hit-​or-​miss. The thermostat on the wall was disconnected and included a message to use the controls on the AC/​heater unit. I did, but the control didn’t always work. Sometimes the thing blasted hot air, but other times it wouldn’t produce any warmth at all.
I’ve stayed at several hotels in New York City and understand there’s a great variety, and ultimately it boils down to where you want to stay and how much you’re willing to spend. When I visit NYC I don’t intend to spend a lot of time in my room. For my purpose, The Time Hotel is OK — and the super-​low rate I paid ($ 107) made my stay fine.

I hadnt stayed here in awhile, but was again pleasantly surprised by this boutique hotel, checked in this am 7÷10÷14. This hotel is super comfortable, modern and in a great location near Time Square and the Theatre District.
Be prepared for a small, but very cozy room, perfect for 1 or intimate for 2. I love it! The bed is so comfortable! You can’t beat it for the price, great NY find. Going to make this a staple especially for weekend trips in NYC. I’ll post pictures too, so you can get a sense for size and scope.
I see the other reviews and yes there’s a little wear on the main credenza, but it’s normal wear. I found my room very clean and neat.
P. S. they get extra points for fantastic customer service, I checked in at 2:30 am, I promptly checked in, porter brought my bags with me to the room in about 15 mins.

partial view, much better wall mounted tv, mini-​bar, nice. (4-​star)
Concierge got tix for final game of US Open. Go Serena! (4-​star)
Walking distance to everywhere — Times Square, 5^th Avenue,
(retail mecca), Restaurant Row, Central Park, et al. (5-​star)
Inc Lounge offers ½ off all martinis 7−11pm daily. (4-​star)

Wir hatten das Time Hotel für einen spontanen Kurztrip nach New York gefunden und gebucht. Das Hotel liegt nur einen Block vom Times Square entfernt und genau zwischen zwei verschiedenen U-​Bahn-​Stationen. Wir kamen mit dem AirTrain und der Linie A vom JFK Airport an. Das hat problemlos funktioniert und etwa eine Stunde gedauert.
Ken am Empfang war super nett und die Reservierung über
hat wunderbar geklappt. Im EG des Hotels gibt es ein Restaurant das für den Roomservice zuständig ist und in dem man wenn man möchte Frühstücken kann. Dabei erhalten Hotelgäste 10% Rabatt. Wir sind allerdings jeden Morgen in eines der vielen Diner in der Nähe gegangen.
Das Zimmer entsprach absolut unseren Erwartungen. Alles war sauber und modern eingerichtet. Das Bett war sehr groß aber etwas kurz! Für unsere Koffer hat der Schrank (der mehr ein Abteil mit Vorhang war) gerreicht. Ein Safe genauso vorhanden wie ein Bose Wecker und ein riesen Flat-​TV.
Das Bad war auch kompakt aber alles hat funktioniert und war völlig ausreichend. Ein kleiner Fön war auch vorhanden. Das Waschbecken hatte zwar einen Sprung aber wer sich nicht an der Ästhetik stört.
Vom Zimmer hört man natürlich den New Yorker Verkehr etwas aber für ein ruhiges Wochenende könnte man auch nach Ohio.
Das Personal war immer höflich und hilfsbereit.
Der Preis war absolut im Rahmen für diese Lage und diese Ausstattung.
Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen.
