TQ spa plus Inc.

Do NOT go to this spa to get a manicure or pedicure for the following reasons:
1. HORRIBLY messed up nails. I had to tell them to remove paint from the skin near my toes, and to repaint in an area. My friend’s manicure was absolutely HORRENDOUS — nails were slightly streaky and looked OK when we left, but 30 minutes later it was incredibly streaky and horrible
2. We were rushed the entire time, since we walked in
3. Cuticle care was poor
4. Gave us options for top coat, which ended up being $ 1 extra for manicure, and another $ 1 for pedicure.

I went for spider vein lazer treatment 3 times.
The first time Irina did not show up and was very
apologetic. The second time was fine. The third time,
the equipment didn’t work so she had to reschedule.
And the last (the rescheduled third time) the lazer was
evidently dialed way too high and my chin was very badly
burned in 2 spots. She noticed a white spot but only
said «I don’t want to burn you» before she finished.
I really hope there is no scarring as a consequence.
I would absolutely not recommend and hope the
license to use this equipment is revoked.

Such an accommodating and great spot! My friends and I wanted to all get our massages at the same time and even though two of them had already scheduled theirs, Irina was so welcome to adding me in as well! My masseuse was amazing! One of the best massages I have had a while, and I go at least twice a month. Ask for Hera, like the goddess.

Irina did permanent makeup for my eyebrows with microblanding technique. The result is great-​natural, well defined eyebrows, just what I wanted.
The staff is very professional and aware of innovations in cosmetic industry, which is a huge plus.

Amazing! I had a facial with Irina yesterday and my face is glowing today. Not even wearing make up today just mascara. I also got the laser treatment yesterday (had it done before at another place) Irina went over each spot twice (never had that done before maybe thats why my hair isnt really all gone) Bought a package only going here from now on!

Victoria Does the most beautiful eyebrows. She uses threading and creates the most beautiful shape. I have been going to her for years and I would follow her to the end of the earth!!! She is always very professional very kind and very respectful. She knows what she is doing all you need to do is trust her and you will have gorgeous eyebrows!

Irina the owner, literally treated us like queens. She gave us both white wine, and were accommodating even though we were late. We had a private room for ourselves (we were two friends getting a couples massage) while we waited. Then we had our own masseuses who were so nice and listened to our needs. One of which was an aesthetician, and took care of black heads. We truly enjoyed ourselves, and felt personally taken care of. If you want a really honest and genuine experience that will leave you feeling relaxed from the tender love and care you must come to TQ Spa. They treat their clients so well. Gave us tea and chatted with us after. I’m very impressed that even though in Chelsea they are able to provide such a personal experience.

I’ve gone to TQ 4x so far for laser hair removal and I have to say that I used to dread it because I would always break out on my face from the other person that used to do it for me. My skin has never reacted terribly from any of my visits to TQ. I mostly see Irena, she’s very sweet and friendly. My best friend and her other friends have been going there forever and always refer people over. I will be sticking to TQ for my basically painless hair removal!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I bought a deal on groupon and I seriously regret not reading the reviews for mani pedi on Unilocal before. This is by far the worst mani pedi ever and just a waste of my time. I got a deal for 2 mani pedi for $ 45 on groupon. Came the first time and there was only one person working, Roxy. I had to wait 30 mins even making an appointment beforehand. This place is not suitable for mani pedi because there are no massage chairs and they don’t have the correct equipment. They brought a tub of water to do my pedi!!! Despite all this. Roxy is a sweet girl and did an amazing job on my mani pedi. She took the time to do them and put a lot of effort carefully making them nice. However, the nail polish seemed old. I paid extra money for quick dry and was there for 2 hours and my toes had still not dried!!! I had found out after getting home taking off my shoes that my toes were ruined.
I let it go, hoping the second time around it would be better. I even brought my own quick dry this time so my nails would not get ruined. The owner called me to reschedule my appointment. I had booked it for 11:30 and she changed it to 12 pm Bc whatever they had to do before me was going to take too long. Fine, I agreed to 12pm. I had told her about the incident that happened with the quick dry and told her I was upset. She said she was sorry and said she would tell whoever was working that day and make it up to me. I came on time and the girl working there seemed so confused. I waited another 30 minutes this time until I got My mani pedi and I was pretty upset because I had to be somewhere at 2pm. The girl who was doing my mani pedi came late. She walked in the door so confused, dropped her bags and didn’t even know what to do. She sat me down on the table ready to do my hands. I told her, «aren’t we suppose to do pedi first? it won’t dry on time» then she said, uh… ok. Just wait here. And got a tub of water to do my pedi first. I was so taken back by this. I also told the girl about the quick dry incident that happened last time and how her boss had called me To reschedule and said it would be taken care of. She told me her boss didn’t tell her anything, took another phone call and just ignores me. Sigh. I don’t know what to say anymore. It is what it is I guess. The girl who did my nails barely spoke any English. I kept telling her I needed to leave in 1 hour Bc I had other things to do that day and she kept reassuring me that she would be done in 1 hour. She did a great job on my nails but took over 1.5 hours and I was late to my next appointment. Definitely not recommended for mani pedi and won’t be back. This place is a joke.

I preface all of this by saying I rarely write reviews for poor service. In fact, the service has to be downright horrible for me to take the time to review.
The highlights:
I have been to various spas over the past 20 years and this was, by far, the worst.
Appointment times mean nothing because they take walk ins.
Total lack of professionalism: didn’t apologize for their mistake but blamed the masseuse for working too slowly.
The waiting room is two chairs backed up to the check in desk and cornered by a manicure table. Décor isn’t a big deal to me as long as the service is good, but I spent more time in that than I expected.
The employees talk and laugh so loudly, I can’t imagine anyone is actually able to enjoy a massage.
Our trip to TQ SPA:
We made a 2 pm appointment for a massage and arrived 10 minutes early per their instructions.
Keep this in mind: THEY TOLD US TO MAKE SURE WE WERE THERE EARLY.
When we walked in, we were told it would be a few minutes. We sat and waited. After 15 minutes, the woman said it would just be a few more minutes. We continued to wait. At 2:30, I asked how much longer it would be because we had other events scheduled that afternoon/​evening. She said they were just finishing up. At 2:45 we decided not to wait any longer.
They knew the room would be in use and still had us sit there for 50 minutes. If this was a halfway decent business, they would have apologized for double booking when we arrived (there was a couple who walked in two seconds after us and they were immediately brought into the massage room) and would have told us we would have to wait an hour. Instead, they said nothing and blamed it on the masseuse, «saying she just works slow.» My wife and I were taking a weekend trip to the city and we wanted to start it with a nice couples massage. Because of TQ Spa, our weekend getaway started off terribly. We’ll make the most of it despite their lack of professionalism, but I will never again even entertain the idea of going to TQ Spa.

After posting about my first, negative experience, the manager contacted me to apologize. She invited me to have a massage with another therapist and said she would refund my money if I didn’t enjoy it. I decided to take her up on her offer which turned out to be a great decision because my massage with Larissa was AMAZING. Seriously one of the best I’ve ever had. I plan to see her when my shoulders inevitably knot up again. If you like massages with deep pressure, soothing hands, and an awareness of your body’s needs, I highly recommend Larissa!

I came here to get my permanent make up done and they did a great job. The owner is extremely friendly and accommodating. They even offer wine and champagne (which is always a plus). Dr Thomas talked me through the whole procedure before we started. I asked her to show me the equipment and everything is sterile and disposable, so NO equipment is used twice.

Ok, so we’ve all had days that were simply, «murphy’s law“right? Well this past Saturday, Irina had one, lol which led to my not getting my mani/​pedi. In all fairness, stuff happens even when we try our best for them not to and they MORE than made up for the mishaps!!!
Now I’ve been sitting here relaxing, sipping tea and getting a much needed mani/​pedi.
Always give a second chance just like you’d want

Irina, the owner, is what makes this hidden gem of a spa sparkle. I went with a group for a last minute mani pedi for a date I had later that night. She fit me in right away. When I arrived, I received an old world kind of welcome. It reminds me of spas I’ve been to In Europe and Latin America where they care about personal attention to maximize your potential beauty instead dissecting your body parts to charge you the maximum for services. I will be returning for a facial next week which she promised to give me for the spa week price. Oh and complimentary wine, which is never a bad thing!

The manicure here was wayyy wayyy below average.
They are located in an office building. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a Russian woman who will ask you to pick from a very limited color selection. They did not have any OPI Polish.
An older Russian woman did my nails, while ‘the manager’ tried to sell me on other treatments. She tried to explain to me that Botox, chemical peels, and other enhancements would be in my best interest. I definitely did not like nor appreciate the vibe I got. Furthermore, for the pedicure you’ll be soaking your feet in a giant plastic tub that does not look to be very sanitary. The manicure did not last more than 3 days.
I was also told several times that the gratuity was not included.

Worst mani-​pedí ever. Literary on a scale of 1 to 10. Where 1 is the lowest and 10 the highest. It’s a 1 o no stars. Person Neli, didn’t really know what she was doing. The towel that she used was extremely dirty had black stains and dust.
My nails are not even aligned and forgot to cut 2 nails. I had to keep on reminding her to cut the cuticle.

Brought up in NYC my whole life, the experiences of Nail Salons become somewhat generic. TQ Spa is definitely as far away from that as possible!!! I guess the legendary Stella left her aura with the current representatives. For me, Larissa was exceptionally wonderful! It all began with a quick Groupon deal search for my girlfriend and right before a vacation. As true procrastinators, we waited till the day before to handle our last minute errands.
Knowing how nail salons are typically we thought this these mani pedi appointments would be just another boring two hours spent staring at walls and cosmetic machinery. Larissa to the rescue to say the least!!! TQ Spa is beyond intimate! Its by appointment only (and dont right away think thats a bad thing) I loved loved loved that I was there all by myself! Larissa is a true professional! She creates such a warm and welcoming environment! She made me feel so comfortable during my time there! Not to mention her constantly catering to your needs for how you want to maintain your nails and such is beyond amazing! Her skills are superb! Her European training is evident!
To try and sum things up, Stella has left her business in amazing hands. For me specifically, ASK ASK ASK FOR LARISSA!
YOU WILL NOT REGRET HER SERVICE!

Let me start off by saying you’d be crazy to pass this place up. What a gem!
I found TQ through a groupon I bought for 6 brazilian laser sessions. When I first arrived, I was apprehensive because it’s in an office building and the spa is a bit small. It doesn’t matter. What these girls do with limited space is incredible. I recently had my third session and every time I am surprised by the level of professionalism, and courtesy of the staff.
But let me tell you about today. My mom had bought me a groupon (what can I say,) for a full leg and underarm wax at a different spa. They cancelled on me last minute. Desperate for a wax before my Memorial Day weekend, I called my trusty friends at TQ spa. I called asking for an immediate appointment expecting disappointment and Irina got me in! The wax was quick, painless and professional.
In summary, the services are top of the line and the staff is professional, trustworthy, courteous and incredibly accommodating!
