Ordered take out and the rice came wrapped in a ball of cling wrap. To add insult, it was undercooked. I went into their restaurant next day to complain– they looked at me with disdain and to «get rid of me» took my number down and said someone would call me. Needless to say, one week later, no one has called. Do not order out from here.

Hmm… The interior is nice… Cute servers, all male it seems. I ordered their Thai iced tea and their Lemongrass Pork. Tea had a lot of ice(not worth the price) and my pork was more bone than meat. The ambiance is great, dim lighting and chill vibes. Nothing exceptional, but if I do go again, it’ll most likely be for drinks and not for their food. 3 stars.

I love this place. The ambiance is beautiful and chic and the staff is very attentive and accommodating. The food is absolutely delish. I really recommend the Pineapple Fried Rice, served in, you guessed it, an actual pineapple. I also like the Avocado Massaman Curry. The prices are great. The lunch special is wonderful because you get an appetizer with your entrée for a low price. Dinner is not costly either, though Vi{V} certainly doesn’t skimp on taste. I try to take all of my friends here, and so far they’ve agreed that Vi{V} is a place you just want to keep coming back to!

Love their lunch menu. I live next door, when i work from home i usually order from here. Cheap and great food. I’d been here few times for dinner and drinks too. They usually have happy hour in weekdays until 8PM(Love their Lychee martini and Mojito). Great place, ambiance and service :)

I came here on Saturday night for friend’s birthday(7 people with reservation). The place was busy and we didn’t get seat because 2 of friends ran late but we are totally understood. Hostess came out with very nice blouse and smiling. She gave us good recommendation about food and drink here. After waiting 15 – 20 minutes, we are seated. Thank you for finding the table to us. I ordered Duck tamarind as an entrée and I was pleasantly surprised by the portion and displayed. It’s an excellent dish. I got so full afterwards. On top of the food and decoration, the service was excellent and stood out to me since we walked in to the restaurant. Staffs were so kind and courteous. If you’re looking to host a group of party 6 or more. V{iv} is a must to come. This place is very busy, make sure to make reservation ahead of time. And be ONTIME. We will definitely come back again.

This is a review for a Seamless lunch order. I ordered the Pad Thai Lunch with Mixed Veggies and the Hat-Yai Rice Soup. I like that the lunch special is cheaper and perfectly proportioned for lunch. I expected veggies to be the more typical things like broccoli, but I got more variety including napa cabbage and bok choy. This would have been a nice pleasant surprise if the cabbage and bok choy weren’t over cooked and just utterly limp and overcooked. The whole Pad Thai dish was pretty soggy(not sure if that was because of the condensation from my delivery order…), but at least the flavor was pretty decent. I have to sing praises for the Hat-Yai Rice Soup. I am a lover of soups and this one has a very clean chicken broth flavor and heavy(but perfectly proportioned) ginger flavor. True to their description, it is like a thai version of chicken noodle soup and definitely warmed my soul on a cold winter day.

We ordered the $ 27 Red Snapper Lad Prik through Seamless(Grub Hub) and the description said«Hot and spicy. Deep fried whole Red Snapper topped with house style spicy & sweet chili sauce, garnished with vegetables.» When the fish came, it was literally a deep fried fish wrapped in foil with the chili sauce on the side. No garnish. No vegetables. See photos. When we called the restaurant about the missing vegetables, the lady who picked up would only offer a 15% discount and gave some ridiculous excuses saying delivery doesn’t include vegetables. We argued that the website clearly states this and nowhere does it make any disclaimers for delivery, then she offered to deliver some vegetables on the side and said it would take«5 – 10 minutes»(Do veggies not need to be cooked/heated, then packaged, and coordinated for delivery?). We felt the fish would be cold by that point and the dish wouldn’t be what it should be. We had already waited an hour and were hungry. Then she changed her story and told us the vegetables were in the sauce. There were tiny red chili flakes in the sauce. Seriously? After these ridiculous explanations instead of admitting they made a mistake, we asked for a refund for this part of our order and she said the best she could do was 15%. I called back because I felt 15% wasn’t adequate because what we got wasn’t even close to what was advertised. After a bunch of hostile back and forth including the lady rudely accusing us of trying to get a «free» fish, she said she would refund the entire order. I told her I wasn’t asking for that — only for this one dish to be refunded because it wasn’t right. Then I asked for her name. She refused to tell me and hung up. I called back and told her I want the name of the person I spoke with or the manager because, quite frankly, I didn’t trust her. She repeated she would refund the fish/order and then said she was the manager and refused to give me her name and hung up again! Later I called Seamless to tell them what happened because I certainly didn’t trust her at that point. The Seamless rep called the restaurant and called me back to tell me he spoke to the same lady and she changed her story again and would only offer 15% and they can’t enforce anything. They also sent me a $ 5 coupon to use on their site and recommended that I write a negative review. I called the lady back and told her she had agreed to a refund for the dish. She said she called the owner and he would only allow a 15% refund. And it would be out of her pocket if she refunded the entire dish. Really unprofessional and unscrupulous. Don’t tell a customer you will do something and then basically lie. She did finally give me her name, but I will not list it here. She also gave me a sob story about customers who call pretending their orders are wrong asking for refunds. That doesn’t excuse the restaurant when they clearly made a mistake, nor does it excuse her unprofessional behavior. She did offer a 15% discount for a future order, although we have no intention of brining out business there ever again. We live in Hell’s Kitchen(obviously from our delivery address) and get Thai food frequently. It’s our first time trying this place out. It’s a shame really, but with so many other Thai restaurants around, Pure, Wondee Siam, @Nine, Pam’s… we definitely won’t try V{IV} again and don’t recommend it to others. The food was nothing special and mediocre at best.

Lunch special for 8 dollars is a pretty good deal except the starters are tiny, which is understandable. The 8 dollar desserts, however, are portioned too small to be worth it, even though I would say that the fried ice cream is pretty tasty. The décor was very pretty. What annoyed me the most was how ridiculously long it took to get the bill after our table, which was right next to a bunch of workers at the counter, was cleared.

The staff and the ambiance are great but there isn’t any wow factor in the food. The flavors are very light in regards to real authentic Thai food. I had the tamarind duck which was too chewy for my preference. However, the drinks here are quite delicious and they were very generous with the alcohol.

Good food at a quick pace! A fave spot of mine in HK. Inexpensive, great menu with friendly staff that are attentive. My go-to dish here is the Sriracha Noodles which has a good amount of spice and will certainly fill you up. Also love to split an order of the calamari when dining with friends. Their happy hour during the week is a good deal, $ 5 wines, beers, cocktails… I also see from other reviews that they do an all night HH on Mondays/Tuesdays which is a great deal and offers a bit of savings when bar hopping on weeknights! Clean space with clean restrooms, great food, quick and friendly service. Casual dress, I fee comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt. Great, fun interior. The music can be a bit loud and the lights a bit dim… so I wouldn’t take my grandparents here, but a fun vibe for a young crowd. I’m a fan!

Great Sunday happy hour special till 9pm and it includes margaritas and martinis of any flavor they offer. The staff is overall pretty friendly although there is a language barrier. The thai food was definitely one of the best spots you can find in Manhattan. The décor is unique, upscale, and mesmerizing– it gave a great vibe similar to a club or lounge. I recommend grabbing the beef ribs for appetizer and the chicken avocado curry for entrée. I will be back one day if I’m in Hell’s Kitchen craving thai food!

Happy hour is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays. All other days, it is until 8. You can get $ 5 martinis(pineapple, peach, lychee, or apple), $ 5 beer, or $ 5 wine. Stick to the wine(or beer). I tried a pineapple martini and there wasn’t much alcohol in it. At least it wasn’t overly sweet though. For my entrée, I had the sriracha noodles. It’s pretty similar to pad see ew, only they make it with sriracha sauce. It’s not just any sriracha though. They use it as a base and mix it with other flavors. It’s slightly less spicy than drunken man noodles, which is perfect for me. It comes with chicken and shrimp and the chicken was not dry at all. It was a nice surprise since most noodle dishes that I order from Thai places tend to have rubbery chicken. But not V(IV)! Another thing I really liked about this place was that it looked like a trendy night club(minus the loud annoying EDM music and creepy guys eyeing you). Plus you can actually hear what your friends are saying and have a normal conversation without shouting! I’ll definitely be back to try some of their other dishes(and for happy hour of course)!

I was looking forward to trying out VIV for the first time. While the décor is cute, I was not impressed with my food, especially for the price that I paid. I understand that it is in Manhattan but I still think $ 14 for a place of fried rice is a bit much. I wanted to order what I usually order in Thai restaurants, which is the Pad Kee Mao. But the waiter suggested the Tom Yum fried rice because I can pretty much get Pad Kee Mao at any other Thai restaurants. He made a good point. Not many Thai places carry Tom Yum fried rice on their menus. So I went with his suggestion and ordered the Tom Yum fried rice. At first bite, I was a bit confused by the taste. My taste buds did not recognize a trace of Tom Yum in the dish. I could not figure out what the taste was exactly, but it sure did not impress me in the first few bites. I asked my friends what they thought of their meals. One who ordered the Pineapple fried rice said that she liked it but she did not finish it. Maybe she was trying to be nice since I was the one who picked the restaurant. Another friend had the volcano chicken, which is considered an «attraction» on the menu. He thought it was good but did not rave about it. Someone else got the curry and she seemed to have savored every last bite but she said she was just hungry. She didn’t comment much on the quality of the food so it’s hard to say. It’s safe to say that for a city with Thai restaurants growing like mushrooms, you can definitely find somewhere else to get your Thai fix at a cheaper cost as well. Hey, at least I gave it a try.

Agree with the reviews that the atmosphere is trendy. However, if the food doesn’t wow you it doesn’t leave much reason to come back. The food is fine here and I’d recommend trying it out. There’s nothing in particular I can rave about that makes this place unique, but I would recommend the crab rangoon, especially if you’re lactose intolerant. Best of luck.

This place is definitely one of my top Thai places to get my grub on! Service: excellent, everyone is so nice and friendly here. Ambiance: romantic, definitely dinner date worthy! The décor was very classy and the dim lighting provided a lounge like tone. The only thing that bothered me was that the spacing was tight, but what NYC restaurant isn’t? Sriracha noodles: — If you love your Srisacha, you will love this dish! Yeah, you can say, «I could just add it myself,» but for this dish, it wouldn’t be the same. They blend the sriracha in their own sauce base, giving it the hint of spice and the flavor with its own unique taste. Pineapple fried rice: — An array of flavors both sweat and salty that gives this dish its pineapple taste. — They are generous with the meat and the rice is cooked to perfection. — The best part of the dish, is that they serve it in a pineapple! GREAT Presentation! Overall: I would love to come again. Worth the price, worth my time, and worth every bite!

I love leaving a restaurant with my belly full and a Wet Pussy(Pun intended). VIV was everything I hoped for in a Thai cuisine dining experience. Smooth Ambiance. Good cocktails. Exceptional service and flavorful impeccable cuisine. I was thinking Room service but my instincts lead my feet to VIV. I recalled the Happy Hour prices being unmatched. I walked in, the hosts led me to my dinner date. I inquired about happy hour and opted for the Lychee Margarita. My Margarita was STRONG at $ 5. I started to feel the effect suddenly. I studied the menu with a plethora of options. Decided on the appetizer«Masaba» A Thai version of Trinidadian Roti. Crisp. Flavorful and the red curry was rich in spice. If anyone knows me well, they know i loooovvvee Curry. I ordered the highly acclaimed Avocado Massaman Curry. The flavors and texture were quite a pleasurable explosion on the palette. Smooth and creamy avocado, rich red curry broth. Seasoned chicken. Peanuts and basil. My friend had the Volcano Chicken. The quality of the food here is unmatched for the LOW prices. You’re getting a quality meal for a steal. The presentation of our food was impeccable. The volcano was presented in real flames. Garnished to perfection. The staff was polite and friendly. One of the managers, Champoon, I believe was very kind. For moving our seat over to accommodate a larger group, she gave us free shots of Wet Pussy. A grapefruit flavored liquor. My only con here is that the ambiance is not as breath taking as the retaurant a few blocks radius Room Service. The theme of the black light and large dragon should be consistently carried throughout the dining room and that disappointed. Otherwise, I love the faux crocodile chairs, leather seating and bar.

I’ve been here for dinner where Viv becomes as confusing as any other Thai place in Hells Kitchen, but for lunch $ 10.95 for duck curry with appetizer(calamari, spring roll, chicken shrimp dumpling, chicken lemongrass soup) is a stellar moment in Manhattan. In case spicy pineapple /lychee duck in red curry is not appetizing enough for you ½ price happy hour begins early. Three martini lunch anyone?

V{IV} is one of the office-favorite Thai restaurants, and I finally decided to check it out. Instead of the usual Pad Thai and Pad See Ew that I get from Thai places, another item — Seafood Avocado Papaya Salad — caught my eyes so I decided to order that. The delivery was prompt, although the water from the papaya soaked up the container and spilled a bit. The salad contained generous portion of shredded green papaya tossed with tomatoes, string beans, and peanuts in Thai spicy lime dressing. I was very impressed with amount and variety of seafood — shrimp, calamari, and mussels — as well as the freshness of everything! The papaya salad was so refreshing, and the creaminess of the avocado surprisingly paired really well with the seafood. The lime dressing added a nice touch to the concoction. I can’t wait to try my regular Thai entrees at V{IV} the next time I order!
