Very casual ambiance. Decent prices and good happy hour specials. Food was just OK. The problem is that nobody seems to really do Mexican very well in this city. You have to find some hole in the wall to get a decent taco. I ordered the enchiladas and they were just like anything you will find at any other Mexican restaurant in this city. Flour tortilla wrapped meat with beans and rice, topped with some sauce and cheese. You won’t find great Mexican food here, but this is a reliable place to get a table for your buddies and enjoy some good happy hour drink specials with some small plates(guacamole was good and reasonably priced).

Delicious food, great margs, outdoor seating… this place is a hidden gem. I feel like not many people know about it. DJSWANKY brings the beats and keeps the party going from hip hop to reggae. Make sure and order your drinks from Tiff at the bar, she’s the best. One of my fav go to spots for HH and brunch.

Fun, energetic atmosphere, prompt service upon arrival, friendly staff, amazing margaritas… i ordered the shrimp taco entrée and i must say it was an excellent choice. savory yet a hint of spice they are by far the best shrimp tacos i’ve ever tasted!!. not to mention great prices for the city. Whether you are having an intimate dinner or a group get together with a couple of friends this is def the place to go!!!

I love this place because of exactly what it is: a party! a fun casual dining/bar experience in an area where frankly there isn’t much else in the way of a good time! Weekdays a dope happy hour($ 4 beers/$ 5frozenmargs/$ 3TEQUILASHOTS !!!) and a great atmosphere for a date OR groups. Gets packed but there’s ample seating so it’s never uncomfortable or overcrowded. long communal tables perfect for large parties. Weekend BRUNCH is fun as hell here! GREATDJ for brunch, everyone gets turnt up! Unpretentious, casual, a well-rounded good time, consistently. DEF a spot to hit if you live in peter coop or stuy town. Sports fans: they play big games on HUGE drop down screen and TVs surround the bar Taco fans: Mondays bottomless tacos(YASSSSS) and a margarita 28BUCKS!

was here for brunch with about 8 friends. they have a pretty solid deal: 5 frozen margs or sangria +entrée for about 30 bucks(tried to capture the size of the drinks below). The mushroom quesadillas I got were delicious, and came with guac and pickled onions on top(which is cool considering some places will charge you more for that). Seems like this is generally a bustling place during brunch hours(they even had a dj going), so if youre trying to have a quiet weekend morning meal this might be something to consider. For our group, though, this place was definitely what we were looking for. Will definitely stop in during weekday dinner hours to grab some tacos and see what its like then.

At a table of 8 during a very slow time for brunch and service is terrible. Waiters standing around, chips and drinks are all empty, taking a long time to get a refill.

Firstly, the DJ is terrible. I knew this before from walking by and being shocked that he was employed. However I figured someone potentially would have complained about him and he would be replaced. Mixing songs together that don’t go together and doing that stupid scratchy noise so often that any song is ruined. The frozen margaritas weren’t great. The mango was sent back and changed for a lime. The on the rocks margaritas were HORRIBLE. The waitress was super nice, but disappeared for 20 mins at a time. The mole enchilada was not good. We scraped off the mole. People here were so drunk at 8:30pm that a busser carried a woman out of the bathroom like a baby. I will most likely not return.

THISPLACEISHELLAFUN. I was so turnt from this brunch. I could not walk straight. You can either order entrée with your choice of drink orrrr you can pay i think $ 30? for 5 glasses of margarita with free entrée. It’s additional dollar charge for adding flavor to your drink but damn mango one is so worth it. I ordered con chorizo and it was delicious(or maybe i was too drunk, idk man) Anyways, I would definitely definitely DEFINITELY come back for more margaritas. Come here with fun group of friends who would turn up with you while eating!

Went here last month and had a nice meal, food was pretty good. What bothers me is that i got my credit card statement today and found and extra dollar was added to the tip. I know it is only a dollar, but i happened to have a copy of the receipt because it was a business dinner. This created the aggravation of showing my finance department why there is a discrepancy in my receipt and what i am being charge. Anyone with an expense account knows how annoying dealing with that is. More importantly, even adding a dollar is THEFT… so save your receipt.

Probably my favorite Mexican restaurant… The atmosphere is so fun for brunch on the weekends with a DJ playing. The Margs are great and the chicken quesadillas were a good portion size and tasted great. It’s a fun place to come with a big group of people in their early-mid 20’s. Good place for a birthday party brunch or dinner! I recommend this place to everyone as it is a great atmosphere and classic Mexican food.

Came here for a birthday dinner celebration with a group of friends. The wait was about 30 min which wasn’t bad. The bartender was really nice and offered us a shot of tequila on her being that we waited patiently. Finally we got our table and the sever seemed nice. We got our food and it wasn’t the greatest food. The shrimp fajitas were all peppers and onions with very few shrimp. Lightly seasoned. The sauce for the tortilla chips tasted ketchup like. Guacomole was bland. I don’t think I’ll be returning. Sorry.

Came her for a brunch on Sunday. Dj was good and for 30 bucks you get 5 strong margaritas and an entrée. We’re told there was a 90 min limit but we stayed for nearly 3 hours. Will deff be back

The food is pretty decent(nothing too spectacular). The drinks were really tasty, I chugged the coconut margarita. The atmosphere is chill-nothing too crazy– so if you’re looking for a calm Saturday/Sunday brunch with some drinks– this is the place to be.

Even though I live in the neighborhood, I’ve never been here, and now I know why! We stopped by on a Saturday evening and happened to catch the tail end of their weekend happy hour from 4−7PM. It was a nice surprise but other than that, there is nothing particularly appealing about this place. The happy hour menu is decent if you are trying to start the night early, but food wise it is mediocre. I got a chicken taco and a carne asada taco, and also tried a bit of my friend’s blood orange frozen margarita. He got a chicken quesadilla. The carne asada taco was much tastier than the chicken taco, which was dry and would have been really bland if I hadn’t squeezed lime juice all over it. They use the exact same chicken for my friend’s quesadilla as well… which really looked more like a chicken taco with cheese than a quesadilla. Just an FYI in case anyone is planning on ordering it! Plus, the portions were tiny. Even with the happy hour pricing, I don’t think we really got a good deal. The margarita was yummy and poured with a heavy hand; I probably would have enjoyed it more if I was out for the night! That being said, the entire atmosphere at Vamos! is less of a restaurant and more of a bar/venue, so keep that in mind if you are planning on dropping by!

GOHERE. I don’t know why everyone is bitching about the service, our waiter was the best & extremely attentive. We had a reservation this past Saturday at 12:45 for 3 people but brought 1 extra because my friend flew in for the weekend to surprise me, and they seated us right away. We were at the dinky table near the bar/kitchen/door so that was kind of annoying but once we had our first margarita we didn’t care! The DJ was playing perfectly loud music the entirety of our brunch & the rest of the drunchers were all equally enjoying themselves. There were plenty of people just standing at the bar drinking margaritas(which is were we went once we were done with our food– which was delicious!) and the vibe is awesome. Everyone was having a great time. The food is great, and the brunch deal offers 5 drinks(either frozen margs or sangria — hated the sangria) for $ 30 and then your food is included. Our bill for 4 brunch deals + guac was $ 130 or so, but when you think about all that you get it’s definitely worth it.

The best time at Vamos is when you’re drunk. Like really really drunk. And it’s super easy to do because their drinks are really really strong. I’ve been here for both brunch and dinner. Their bottomless deal is amazing! For $ 30, you get 5 drinks(either frozen margaritas or sangria) and an entrée! I got huevos rancheros and split the 5 drink special into 3 margaritas and 2 cups of sangria. I was a very good level of day-drunk for the next few hours. The entrée had a lot of food on the plate, and as far as I can remember, it was all pretty good! When I went for dinner, my friends and I split a frozen margarita pitcher and an assortment of apps & entrees — loaded nachos, quesadillas, and tacos. Everything was fantastic. The nachos were by far the best part of the meal. I do think the dinner menu is a bit overpriced — there are much cheaper Mexican options in the city. But the drinks here are worth it! Overall, the experience has always been great at Vamos. The waiters are friendly, the food is good, and the drinks are phenomenal. I will 100% be coming back!

Awesome brunch! The way this place works is that you buy 5 drinks and get your entrée«free,» which amounts to a bit under 30 per person. I had the huevos divorciados which I loved. Two poached eggs on English muffins, one with salsa verde and one with red salsa. Eggs were good, salsa was awesome and it comes with refried beans, rice, plantains, and corn like all the other brunch options. Drinks were also great for an NYC brunch. The frozen margaritas were strong for a frozen drink, though they don’t taste it, and not grossly sweet like frozen drinks can often be. We also got the red sangria and white sangria, which tasted like juice and christmas(maybe some sort of maple and cinnamon were added to the mix?) but also had a fair amount of alcohol. After using all our drink tickets, we definitely had that good level of brunch buzz you’re probably coming here for. The place is also fun, with dance music playing, but not blaring, and the right amount of space(not overcrowded or cramped) and not overly loud, yet still lively. Overall, one of the best drunch experiences I’ve had in New York. They take reservations, which is becoming annoyingly rare, there’s a very fun vibe without feeling forced or obnoxious, and a casual, yummy brunch that’s perfect for a large group of friends. Go vamos!

Went here for dinner and got the coconut margarita and enchiladas. The margarita was good and only $ 6 with the happy hour special(before 7pm). They normally only give the happy hour drink special at the bar though and not if you sit down at a table. The enchiladas were really good! They have fresh toppings and are more exciting than the average enchiladas you find. I asked them to make them vegetarian and they were very accommodating.

Oddly, this is probably the worst brunch I’ve had in NY. I know it sounds harsh, but I’m sorry its just true. It’s got a great vibe! The DJ was on point. It’s CHEAP. And the drinks are STRONG. But that’s where the good ends. I got the brunch burrito and it was just… bad. Smushy avocado, tasted like the eggs were from a carton… and the tortilla was not freshly made… I wouldn’t come here, honestly. The two stars are for the DJ and the strong slushy margs.
