Dr Wong is truly an exceptional doctor. He has been my ob/​gyn for over ten years and just recently delivered my son. I couldn’t ask for more in a doctor. He is extremely caring and thoughtful and always takes the time to explain everything and answer all the questions I have. When it came time to deliver my son he was incredible! Being a first time mom of course I was nervous about delivery but he guided me through everything with his calming and professional presence. I actually went into labor three hours from the hospital but made the trip back just so that he would be the one to deliver Max. I am eternally grateful to him for all he did for us and even if I move out of the city, will always trek back to his office to continue under his care! And his staff is wonderful and kind and I love how everything is online and easily managed electronically. Ten stars for the best doctor I could imagine to see me through 9 months of pregnancy through the big day!

After months of half-​heartedly looking for a new gynecologist, I finally found Dr. Wong through Unilocal and I’m glad I did. Dr. Wong is extremely knowledgeable, warm, and attentive. He takes time to address my concerns and explains everything thoroughly, even with a touch of humor. If you have any concerns about going to a male gynecologist, you have absolutely nothing to worry about with Dr. Wong. And if it’s any comfort, there has always been a female nurse in the room during my visits.

Dr. Raymond Wong is the best OBGYN I have ever encountered. I found his contact by reading the other Unilocal reviews and thought, how can anyone have almost all outstanding feedback? After I met with him the first time, and everytime since then, I realized it’s because he really is awesome. He’s super nice, very patient, answers all your questions realistically and in depth, and is very knowledgeable. He has a rotating staff of nurses to assist with checking blood pressure, weight, and urine tests/​drawing blood (if applicable), but they have all been friendly. The office is also nice and clean, and newly remodeled. Lastly, I have only waited past my appointment time once out of the 10 times I have been, which is very impressive. Definitely recommend Dr. Wong!!!

Dr. Wong is, hands down, the best OBGYN doctor I’ve been to. He never makes you feel rushed during an appointment, he’s kind and helpful when answering questions, and he’s incredibly knowledgeable in his field. He’s non-​judgmental and respectful, which is comforting when dealing with the ups and downs of pregnancy.
He delivered my first daughter when we were still living in the city and I couldn’t imagine having anyone else deliver my second child even though we had moved to Westchester, so I commuted to the city for my appointments and delivery just to keep him as my doctor. He stayed at the hospital and nearby throughout my entire labor and I’ll always be grateful for his personalized and thoughtful care.
He’s one of a kind!

Dr. Wong’s office location has changed since my last review and they were taken over by another hospital but the new set up is very nice and I like that I can get results online. Although, Dr. Wong being so great at giving great service will still call me to give me results (or at least when they are good!) and I appreciate that! Dr. Wong is 5 Star all the way!

I’m really surprised by some of these bad reviews. It honestly doesn’t even seem like the same Dr. Wong! Dr. Wong is a great doctor, he’s caring and kind and funny. He oversaw my pregnancy and delivered my baby boy last year, and the whole experience with him was fantastic.
Most especially, when I was in the hospital, after a long labor and ready to push in the wee hours of the morning — I couldn’t even believe it — Dr. Wong was there. He was there through the whole thing, including my eventual c-​section. It’s honestly so nice to have your own doctor stick by you for so many hours. He always gave me my options, but never tried to steer me in any particular direction. He has the patience of a saint, and whenever I tell other moms about it, they are always amazed by that.
After the baby was born and I was in the hospital for a few days, Dr. Wong visited me frequently to check on me — early in the morning and late some nights.
I’d give him 10 stars if I could. He is awesome.

I went to Dr. Wong based on the stellar reviews here. He gave me bad news (that part obviously isn’t his fault) — then asked me to step INTO THE HALLWAY to discuss it. I stood there crying, listening to the list of terrible options in full public view, while his staff changed over the exam room and ushered another woman into it.
When I walked past the exam room again on my way out, he was holding a consultation with his next appointment. In the hallway. This apparently is standard practice.
Even under the best of circumstances, this kind of treatment isn’t OK. In fact, I’m pretty sure it violates federal privacy law. I know for damn sure it violates a laundry list of moral and ethical norms, and it made an already traumatic experience far worse.
I would never send someone I cared about to this practice.

I’ve been with Dr. Wong for about 5 years. I just can’t say enough awesome things about him and that office. What finally prompted me to write the review is:
He called my office to discuss test results. I was away at conferences and not really able to speak. My co-​worker relayed that info, and gave him the date I was returning. He called me THE DAY I CAME BACK. Amazing. The very fact that this was noted and remembered is priceless.
I’ve never had a more attentive, friendlier physician. He hand-​writes notes to explain things. He manages to make jokes — funny ones — and that’s not easy, given the … «circumstances» of these visits.
And, I never have to wait more than 10 minutes. Usually I can count on being in and out within a half hour, but feel like I got all the attention I deserve and all the info I need.
To the gal who complained about him not knowing about implants, he’s an OBGYN, not a plastic surgeon. This guy’s perfect score is well deserved.

He is THE BEST OB/​GYN in town. I don’t know why he would get low ratings from others. They probably saw a different Dr. Wong as there is another Dr. Wong in the department. I would give Dr. R Wong 6 starts if Unilocal allows. I was a patient of him from 2007 – 2011. Both of my children were born under his care. He was always pleasant and professional. I had a couple miscarriages before and in between my pregnancies. He was loving and caring. I had a fear of miscarriage during the first trimester of both of my pregnancies. Dr. Wong was always there to support me. His surgical skill was awesome. He also did an awesome job on my son’s circumcision. His office has moved to a new location on 156 William Street in 2011 and the location is equipped with electronic medical records for more efficient record keeping. If you are in the area and need a good OB/​GYN, Dr. Raymond Wong is definitely THE doctor to choose.

I don’t normally write reviews for my doctors, mostly because they fall somewhere in the middle. However, I’ll make an exception for Raymond Wong… because he is an exceptional doctor. The major thing that sets Dr. Wong apart is that he listens. Like, real listening — indicated by appropriate answers/​followup questions. He’s always so knowledgeable about current research but also realistic. He doesn’t jump to medical intervention as the answer to everything. I always leave my appointments feeling calm, with all of my questions answered. He never makes me feel like I’m being talked down to or scolded. I’m extremely confident in his ability as a doctor.
The office environment isn’t anything fancy, but it runs smoothly. He’s always seen me on time (I usually make morning appts.) His front desk staff is cordial and the phone operators who do scheduling have always been really great (they’ll search for availability and wait for you to fumble through your phone’s calendar ;) Dr. Wong’s assistants are fabulous and make you feel comfortable from the weight/​blood pressure in the very beginning of each appointment.
I feel lucky to have found Dr. Wong (A good friend referred me to him…)

Dr. Wong is very nice but good luck trying to get through to the office. I’ve run out of my prescription and have been trying for days to get a refill. Left messages and no one returns my call. Every time you call you get some centralized phone center who then patches you through to his office which goes straight through to an answering machine that no one seems to check.

This doctor was awful. I honestly feel so duped by the perfect Unilocal score. In general perfect Unilocal scores are suspicious.
The only positive experience was the minimal wait time (however the waiting area left a lot to be desired). I was rushed to make an appointment as I have been having sharp pains in my breast and wanted to ensure this wasn’t anything more serious than gas. The doctor informed me that «he doesn’t really know breasts as none of his patients have implants.»
The doctor was extremely rushed, condescending and casually mentioned «Oh, you have fibroids.» I did not disclose such on any paperwork and its not the type of diagnosis you just toss out there.
I have since made an appointment to see someone else. I will not be returning.

Friendly, gentle, patient, all around awesome GYN. After swearing off male GYN’s forever I decided to give one another try after reading the great Unilocal reviews and I’m glad I did. Also he takes 1199 insurance which is awesome.

I love Dr. Wong. He is so nice and funny! I went to countless docs to solve a persistent yeast infection and he was the only one who acted like he actually cared and did something to finally help me. I recently went to have an IUD inserted and he was really great about it, covered all the bases and made himself completely available if I had questions. Also love that he personally returns phone calls and follow ups to annual exams.
PS: The only star I left off was due to the less-​than-​stellar conditions at New York Downtown Hospital and their reception staff there. Yuck. Hot mess.

Saw him for the first time today– I think I’m in love.
Doc Wong is the friendliest, most considerate gyno I’ve ever had! (I move around a lot) And he GETS it. He personally makes calls to report test results (not the nurse, not the PA) and he called me 3x to find me– each time the message said, don’t worry about calling back, I’ll try again later. I know it’s silly, but those small things really, really count. He explains everything («even at the risk of you Googling it») and there’s never any awkwardness. SUCH a great experience, the whole way around. If I’m still in NYC when it happens, he’s 100% delivering my kids.
Seriously, look no further!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE DR RAYMOND WONG!!! Top of the bunch! I have been a patient of his since about 05′ Dr. Wong was the first GYN to define and treat my cervical dysplasia. Always gentle, thorough and on time. Dr. Wong is the only GYN that I entrusted to care for my daughter — she thought it was creepy that she should see my GYN. After her first visit — he is a keeper! She even says — I love Dr. Wong Mommy (Corny little bean — lol).

Excellent Doctor!
I was apprehensive about seeing Dr. Wong, but the doctors referred to me by Dr. Sonenblick, my primary physician, had horrible ratings. Dr. Wong, who was also at Downtown Hospital had amazing ratings, so I chose to try him instead. And I am so glad I made that choice! Dr. Wong is absolutely amazing! He was knowledgeable, thorough, and caring!
Highly recommended for all women!

Really?! you need more convincing??? 5 stars all across the board! Dr. Raymond Wong generally cares for his patients and is very easy to talk to especially when you have concerns. He’s the only person I would let near me with those cold clamps, haha. My bf hates me having a male GYN, but I can’t give up Dr. Wong, great/​attentive doctors are rare to find!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Wong for several years and he really is one of a kind. Some doctors can be condescending, and I get that. I hate it, but I get it. They spent a crazy amount of time in med school and doing a residency, and they get patients coming in with self-​diagnoses from the Internet and their second cousin, who works in a laundromat and isn’t a doctor, but had the exact same symptoms they had. That’s got to be annoying. Dr. Wong isn’t like that, though. The man has endless patience. He’s always been willing to fit me in for a last minute appointment, and I do appreciate that he returns phone calls personally.
Thankfully, I’m without many complaints/​issues in the area of Dr. Wong’s specialty, so my appointments with him aren’t long ordeals, yet you don’t get a wham-​bam-​thank you ma’am feeling from him. He’s been patient and caring when I’ve not been feeling well or have been worried about something, so I’ve no doubt that if I were in a situation where I needed extra attention, I know he’d provide that.
He gets extra credit for liking the Cowboy Junkies and Tift Merritt.
However, I can’t give the full five because NYU Downtown Hospital and the reception desk at his practice are the hottest of hot messes. Placing a call with them to make an appointment or leave the doctor a message is an exercise in tolerance and self-​restraint. While I know Dr. Wong doesn’t really have control over this, it is part of making an appointment with him, so consider yourself warned.

I completely agree with Barbara K… Dr. Raymond Wong is the absolutely BEST OBGYN DR EVER!!!
I’ve been his patient since I was 18 and he has always and still maintain his professionalism. Dr. Wong is kind, considerate, and informative. Best of all, he will tell you exactly what he’s doing because he knows how uncomfortable this experience can be for some females.
I highly, Highly, HIGHLY recommend Dr. Wong for any females. Let’s just say, if I were to pick a doctor to deliver my first born baby, I would pick no one other then the AMAZING Dr. Wong himself!!!
