Meh… This is one of the many features of Unilocal I still haven’t quite figured out the actual need for. Why waste valuable brain-​storm hours and subsequent time spent developing a feature that results in being annoying (at best)?
I have bookmarked the joint, might not mean I will ever be able to review it. Also, I have written a tip (mostly for a reason).
I do understand the ultimate goal is to push for more reviews. But, maybe it should be linked to similar places than previous reviews. Or maybe, you should develop different tools to make this app/​site greater.

ing I wish they would tweet this feature. On the one hand It has reminded me to write a review that I might have forgotten to write about without it. On the other hand It reminds me to write reviews on places I haven’t (yet) visit.
When it is recommending spots I have checked into, its fine, good even.
When I have only bookmarked it or looked it up… leave me alone, LOL. I’m researching for things to do on an upcoming vacation. When I find something interesting I bookmark it. Now over half the suggestions on my list are for places I want to go, but have not yet been.

I need more 3 star reviews to make my review rating distribution look more balanced (thanks to dinobutt for that tip) so I am taking this opportunity to write one on this page. Furthermore it should be noted that I will updated this to a 4 star or 2 star as needed.

Side note–
I admit I play «just the tip» so my manhood is not insulted with «shorter than most». I just don’t have the passion from love/​hate to finish to your standards about all encounters.

This feature was not very well thought out by the Unilocalinati. If it was linked to the app and utilized checkins it might be more accurate. As it is now, it tells me to review places that I’ve only bookmarked or looked at. I have written maybe two posts from this prompt, they were when the stars aligned in such a way that my last bookmark or view was for the place I was going to write about next anyway. Surely coders could come up with something cooler to replace this useless reminder. Maybe something telling me how much time I’m misusing by looking at food photos or reviews of places I’ll probably never visit?

Okay, okay okay. I get the hint.
I have so many darn bookmarks rough and tough drafts. Tips and tricks, oh and pictures.
I’m so sorry, I get caught up in the moment. Well not really sorry lol.
So I will promise to my Unilocal chief screaming eagle. I will write my next review every leap year.

Ops, this is an update isn’t it?

It is great that all of my check-​ins are finally working for me in some way on the actual
website. Reminding me everyday that I have a serious addiction to Saints Alp Teahouse does not help me mentally at all.
Yes, thanks for reminding me that I have not posted a review yet for somewhere that I have checked in over a month ago. It is great to know that I should be at home writing instead of enjoying life and the company of other human beings.
However, «freshen up a review»? Give me a f***ing break already! Do I work for you? Do you own me? Well, Unilocal,you kind of do. My a** is owned…

Eh. I can’t complain. The website now remembers that I checked in somewhere… which is more than I can sometimes say for myself.
I’m probably more bothered by Unilocal telling me that I have drafts. I know I have drafts. And for whatever reason, just like the Sagrada Familia temple, those drafts likely won’t be completed for years, as I’d rather go ahead and write new reviews than finish reviews I started and swore I’d come back to.
Other than that… yeah, Unilocal is constantly inviting me to embarrassingly lavish free parties. In return, all I have to do is write a crappy review about some generic supermarket I checked in at 5 months ago out of boredom because I was stuck in line behind some old lady paying for $ 275 worth of groceries via check.
You got me, Unilocal — I’m highly vulnerable to guilt trips, and you know it.

But… but… I need to eat… no… NOOOO… not the whip again… yes mistress… Writing another review right now mistress… *sobs*

These reminders can be helpful for some people. For example — sometimes I forget to put on pants when I leave the apt and don’t realize it until I notice disapproving looks and leers from other strap-​hangers on the downtown 123 train.
So that’s what these notifications represent: disapproving looks and leers from Unilocal HQ. It never hurts to help.
