On October 1st October Zibetto Espresso Bar opened on 42nd street right by the corner of 5th avenue.
The scaffolding outside makes it a little hard to see right now so you’ll really have to know about it. Otherwise you might miss a real coffee gem in midtown.
Even though we have only been open for a short time we are extremely proud of already having made an 8th place in Harper´s Bazaar list of the «10 chicest coffee shops in New York». Their motivation read; «The all-white espresso bar puts a modern spin on the Italian’s favorite coffee drink. The atmosphere and setup channels a real Italian espresso bar on the streets of Italy. Perfect for a relaxing espresso cappuccino or coffee». We couldn’t have put it better ourselves…
At Zibetto we take pride in serving the best cup of Italian coffee to be found. We choose the absolute best beans from Brazil, Columbia, Indonesia and India, and add our own delicate flavors during the roasting process which takes place in Bologna in Italy.
History
Established in 2006.
At Zibetto we do things our way. Or the Italian way that is. When we opened our doors in 2006 our sole ambition was to bring a genuine part of Italian culture to New York. In Italy coffee is so much more than just a cup of coffee. It’s passion. It’s perfection. It’s a ritual in everyday life.
For some Zibetto is like coming home, for others like going abroad. The thing is that when you step into a Zibetto Espresso Bar you could just as well have entered any small café from Trieste to Milano. The people may not be the same here, but the atmosphere is. And no matter if it’s your first visit or your thousandth cup, you will always feel welcome al banco (at our bar).
