Legend Kung Fu Academy is a traditional Kung Fu school located in Newark, California. Founded by Kung Fu master, Shifu Zheng Li, our school has produced many award-​winning participants in various Wushu competitions. It has been a fun place for our children to build physical and mental strength while developing their self-​discipline and self-​confidence!

Our school offers a progressive program to give students the incentive to advance towards the ultimate black belt.

All classes are taught by Shifu Zheng Li, along with other experienced coaches.

History

Established in 2010.

Legend Kung Fu Academy was founded by Wushu master, Zheng Li, along with his wife Shifu Zhou in Newark in 2010. Having won multiple world championship titles at most prestigious world Wushu tournaments, Shifu Li chose to explore his career as a professional Kung Fu coach in the Bay Area in 2008. Thanks to the continuous support from his loyal followers, Shifu Li established Legend Kung Fu Academy in 2010, hoping to spread the authentic Chinese martial arts to those willing to learn and those looking to empower themselves.

With concerted efforts by both our students and instructors, Legend Kung Fu Academy Wushu team has claimed many gold and silver medals at various Wushu competitions in the U.S. Three of our students had the honor to represent the United States at the 3rd World Junior Wushu Championship in Singapore In 2010!

To serve our growing student body, we have moved to this new location with all brand new updated facilities in July 2012!

All my 3 kids love it. The instructors make the activities fun for the kids. Some of the students in this school win many medals in local, national and international Wushu championship.

My son is 7. He’s been coming here for about 4 months. We attended Wu is Santa Clara for 1 – 2 years. The Shi Fu’s and coaches here are very good instructors and encourage the children while still being demanding enough to have them learn discipline and respect.
My son enjoys the classes. This is better exercise than most other sports. I don’t see this as a smaller workout area that other real Wu Shu in the area. It is clean and professional.

Shifu and staff very professional, warm, lot of patience and love to kids. The place is bright, clean and spacious. My two boys were improved physically, mentally, and in discipline.

Sifu Li and Sifu Qin (the owners) are very good coaches. They are great at teaching Kung Fu.
I would like to give this place a 5-​stars, but there are things that prevent it:
1. Studio is slightly smaller. Kids are unable to practice their forms properly because there is not enough space. Often time, it gets really crowded.
2. Sifu Li and Sifu Qin allows their daughter to run around and imitate during class. First of all, it’s not professional, secondly, this creates a dangerous situation for both the student and their daughter when they stumble/​crash to one another. Thirdly, I found her presence in the training studio very disruptive for students.
3. Sometimes, Sifu talks to the parents while the student practice their forms. If Sifu is busy talking that means he/​she is not paying attention to the student. I would suggest Sifu to talk to parents when he/​she is not teaching so the student get all attention they deserved.

Shifu Li and Shifu Zhou are so dedicated to teaching young kids! Their classes are fun and effective. My son started to take Kungfu classes at Legend since he was 4 years old. In addition to regular classes, he also participates in the Wushu team training.
Legend KungFu is like a big family, both kids and parents make friends here. Legend organizes a lot of kungfu performances throughout the local communities, which is a very good way to help their students to build confidence and team spirits.

My son started following Sifu Li and Sifu Zhou since his kindergarten year. He has made tremendous progress since then. I was surprised how well they taught young kids. My son loves the coaches, the lessons and his team mates. Many kids have been with them for many years. Even parents became friends.
I have started taking adult Tai Chi lessons. Enjoy it :-)
Highly recommended for all ages.

My 12 year old son loves his lessons. He’s been learning Kung Fu for about 3 years. Sifu Li and the coaches are very good at maintaining and keeping the interest in the classes. the kids have a lot of fun and get a great workout.
If I did not have knee problems, I would try out the adult classes for myself as well.
Highly recommended — your kid (or you) will like it…

Legend Kung Fu just keeps getting better and better. All the kids absolutely love Sifu Li and the coaches. They’re all having so much fun while getting their exercises and learning kung fu. Even though my son’s classes is done for the day, he loves to stay to watch the older kids do their routines and play with the other younger kids, and we ended up staying till their closing time, which I prefer over watching tv or playing ipod touch and computer games at home. We’re staying with Legend Kung Fu for a very, very long time!
Parents should bring their kids there to check it out themselves.
