Nick’s Quick Fix

We had a broken valve underneath our bathroom sink that needed fixing and a faucet that needed to be replaced. I called Nick and he was prompt, professional, and gave us a fair estimate for his labor. He arrived when he said he would and was courteous and got the job done quickly. We are so glad we found a handyman in the area that we can call on. We will call him again and would recommend him to anyone who needs work done.

Unlike most handymen, Nick does the following:
1) Responds promptly to voicemails /​texts
2) States a price for the work after asking relevant questions
3) Does not take the job if he if is not confident of the results
4) Shows up on time
5) Does the work and tests it thoroughly before leaving
6) Provides written invoices promptly
If you don’t understand why this is 5 star service you likely haven’t tried hiring a handyman in the Bay Area.
I asked Nick to switch out a ceiling fan with a new fixture. It took about 2 hours of work and cost $ 120. If you want somebody to do it real cheap with no assurances or receipts you can always swing by Home Depot and take your chances, but I like supporting actual businesses.

I don’t know if I caught him on an off day. He quoted $ 70 for fixing a clogged toilet bowl on the phone. When he got to my place, he said it’ll be a 100. We agreed on $ 70 ( Unilocal has a deal listed $ 50 for $ 60 for this business). He fixed the clog in no time, which is great. I did not have change to pay him, I only had 20s. So he offered to tighten the toilet seat for $ 10. I asked him if he could do the rest of the toilet seats as well. At this point he should have mentioned that it would cost more. Once he was done he says it was $ 10 for each toilet seat. That is a ripoff! Also, he should have made it clear that he would charge $ 10 per seat before doing the job.
As I said earlier, I may have caught him on an off day (given the other glowing reviews he has). But, he sure tried to nickel and dime me, and that is not very professional.

Nick is a great guy to deal with! Very friendly and professional at the same time. A broken flush in one of the toilet and a broken seat in the other toilet. Nick came and fixed it with ease. Also as an added bonus looked into the heater which was having some problems starting up. I am amazed by the amazing range of skills Nick possess. Very prompt in picking the phone and responding too! Cant ask for anything better!

Nick installed a couple heavy mirrors and completed other minor tasks around my house. I could not be happier with the work he did. Before he left, he asked if everything was satisfactory and if there were any other issues he could look at around the house, which is greatly appreciated. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to friends.

Nick installed saferack overhead storage in garage for us. He browsed through the manual and accomplished the task. His services are reasonably priced. I would use his services again.

Very thorough! Prompt with calls and text communication.
He was called in for a few hours — to install a window awning, security door and replace a couple of faucets. However, he identified other critical plumbing issues and accomodated them.
We will call him for future projects.

Jackpot! I feel like I won the lottery– better than being in the grocery store and walking right up to the checkstand with no line!!! When does this happen– like never! But oh it did– sent a text to Nick, said: need ceiling fan taken down new one put up, how much. Now it is Sunday evening and low and behold I get a phone call– it’s Nick himself! We have a brief exchange, he gives me the price– which I immediately felt was fair. He asks so when do I want this done? Yea I said it… I said like now? But then I said well ASAP– he said now works– bam– texted him my addy– shortly there after he shows up, dressed in an identifiable «Nick’s Quick fix work shirt, carried a tool box with everything he needed. Bonus**** he is personable, cool, positive, upbeat and very friendly! What more can a single mom ask for? Fair and honest gentleman! Oh and by the way he is licensed and bonded! Ima get my list ready!

Our old water heater recently broke down and we needed to find someone to install it ASAP as it was leaking much water. Searched for a local Handyman in Newark, Fremont and Union City area and Nick came up with great reviews. He came to our home, gave us a quote and off to work he went. He did not cut any corners which I respect. He understands the value of quality work. He also guarantees his work!

We had a leaking toilet situation. With this water shortage /​drought problem we all are facing, I was anxious to find a Handyman who could come right away and fix this problem. Through the website, I found Nick, whom I’ve never met or heard before and decided to call him. Luckily he was not too far from where I was and was available within 3 hrs. After a few questions, he came over with all the parts that were needed and got that toilet working again in such a short time. And, charged me reasonably! I hired Nick to hang artwork and drapery rods for a job I am working on in Northern California. I live in Southern California and hired him over the phone.
