I have used SCV lock and key on multiple occasions for a variety of keys. They have never turned me down and are always very professional. I have been more than satisfied with this company every time i go and really appreciate how friendly they are. I highly recommend SCV lock an key.

SCV Lock and Key has always treated me and all my family members well. We have had our business and several houses rekeyed over the years, in all sorts of situations. Needing specialty keys, need quick service for one reason or the other, even needing to fix someone else’s mistake, and they have always been reliable, knowledgeable and fair.

I went over to Santa Clarita Lock & Key to have a key made up for my son so he could access our house while we were out of town. The gentleman there was couldn’t have been nicer, asking me how my weekend was. I have to confess that it was not the greatest. My brother had had a stroke and was just coming out of rehab. We were in the process of transitioning him to an assisted care facility. The gentleman there was so very thoughtful. He was the highlight of a very bad day. I would give them my business any time.

I called a few weeks ago to ask a question about the best way to fix my front door’s deadbolt. I spoke with Rick, who was very honest & straightforward about what to do. He told me my options & even recommended the one that would cost me less, even though the other option would’ve made the business more money. That tells me that SCV Lock & Key is trustworthy.
So I followed his instructions & brought in the equipment to be adjusted. Rick wasn’t there that day but the gentleman who was there was just as honest & straightforward. He had me out of there in 5 minutes time, with very few dollars cash out of my pocket, and my new deadbolt custom fit back to my original key. My Dad has been using this business since I was a kid as his go to locksmith & I know why. They are knowledgeable, honest & don’t try to rip you off. As far as I’m concerned, they have another life long customer.

I love this place! Hang out, get whatever you need, and I mean almost anything. Garage door openers, gate openers, combo locks, sliding glass locks, car keys, chipped car keys, I love this place! BTW, if you are lucky enough to get Rick, he is the nicest guy.

I normally would not write a review but in this case I’m gonna go the extra mile. The owner is rude and very disrespectful. I purchased a front door lock for a friends house and everything was fine. I then purchased a second lock from the internet and was in need of a re-​key.
When the owner found out I had purchased the second lock set from the internet, he called me out and told me that he didn’t want my business anymore. I only wish this had happened before I spent any money at this establishment. I now go out of my way to tell everyone I know about SCV Lock & key and not to use this business.

Rick and perry totally know everything about keys! I got a chipped truck key for my 2014 Silverado in less than five minutes!

bad customer service, took weeks for them to get their act together to make a key for my car. they would forget to order the key, and then order the wrong one. one day my key came in, they didn’t call me to let me know & sold it to someone else. they eventually made the key for me, but it was a major hassle. the people were nice enough, just ridiculously disorganized.

I just want to say this company is amazing. I’m from out of town and was in a bind, Rick is a really nice guy who seems like he would help anybody. So he called Cody up and they came and helped me get my rv on the road again. They saved our vacation. Our family appreciates everything they did for us. I recommend this company to anybody thank you kevin

I cannot say enough good things about the professionalism, dedication and amazing customer service that I had w/​Santa Clarita Lock and Key Service. There was a minor mix up on my mother’s part regarding the time of the appointment, which put her in a sticky predicament, but when I called SCV L&K, I expressed my concern to both Rick, and Perry (the owner). They went WAY ABOVE and BEYOND in making things right, even though they were not the ones at fault. They are true professionals. They listen, will do whatever they can to make things right, and are very calm (when, let’s face it, sometimes we customers can be a bit on the brash side), and they effectively communicate with their customers. While I’m in AZ and my mom is in CA, I’m VERY happy with SCV L&K, and would definitely recommend them. They truly care about their customers, and that’s more than you can say for most companies out there. They are looking out for you — not just looking to take your money!

I have been here a few times now and the staff make it easy by providing good advice, swift service and great prices. If you need a locksmith, you must go here.

The locksmith arrived on-​time and was able to re-​key the locks. His works seemed slow compared to other services I have used and he charged an hourly rate on top of the per key cost. With other services I have only been charged a flat rate per lock, so the hourly rate was a surprise.
I would shop around before using their service.

Incredibly awful service. They have made 3 trips to a business that is only months old for the locks they rekeyed. After over $ 1000 spent, they rekeyed one of the locks to where only one of the keys worked. They made the keys themselves and wouldn’t stand by how inconsistent they were. It took days to have them made then they expected me to pay for having them re-​made despite the fact that it was their mistake. Shameful.

They don’t even deserve one star!
I purchased all new Emtek interior door hardware for my home. The only one I needed assistance with was the master bedroom because it required a drilled hole for the single cylinder deadbolt, front/​back plate, side plate and leaver handle installed. I called to schedule the install and they could not grasp what my needs were. They sent out a man who inspected the box of hardware then was outside in his truck for over an hour. He came inside only to tell me he would have to come back tomorrow because he did not have the correct tools. We agreed on a time, I waited and waited, then I left leaving my sister-​in-​law at my house because I had a client. He finally showed hours later and did the worst hack job ever!
I immediately called the following day and was told by the man answering the phone, «oh I need to go see my shrink because of customers like you.» Of coarse not knowing his personally I was unsure of his sense of humor but he assured me they would send someone out to repair it. I tried explaining its more than a repair, it’s a replacement of my door jams! He told me, «oh that’s never going to happen.»
I personally visited their store front on two occasions to follow up on the empty promises of fixing the botched job. I am still waiting two months later. I will just dispute it with my credit card because I am so over it!
I just visited Newhall-​Valencia Lock & Key ironically I am not the only victim! Apparently they have repaired many other jobs from Santa Clarita Lock & Key Service. They came out right away and fixed the hack job these rude, dirty and unprofessional men did on my master bedroom door and hardware!!!

Had to ask them to come out a second time to repair a lock. They were reluctant to do so. I will use another locksmith.

I have been here a few times now, both for work and for personal. Every time, they have been able to complete the job, (copy of keys, reprogram key fob for car, etc) with professionalism and quality. They have guaranteed every job, and I will continue to use their services.
This is the go to locksmith for the Santa Clarita Valley! There’s probably not too many things that they can’t do!
