Came here on a local recommendation. Solid bar with their own beers. Not pretentious but not overly grungy either. Beers go head to head with majors in the area. Also it’s a pretty, historic-​looking area.

Love this place! Came here this evening and Chris was great! Some many beers on tap to choice from as well as bottled beers. There are pool tables, darts and fuse ball. Can’t wait to come back.

Cool, relaxed chill place. No gimmicks, just great beer. Away from the tourist traps this is a nice breath of fresh air. Tons of games and things to keep you entertained while drinking a pint or two. Keep it up!

Beer was okay, they didn’t have much selection. Bar area was very small and crowded. Our bartender didn’t seem to care or engage with us at all. Usually it’s nice to have a quiet night at a bar but it was just awkward. Not impressed.

On the lonely oregon coast is this delightful place to get inebriated. A softwood counter trims the wall and above, works of local artist cycle as frequently as the taps.
Newport Brewing is slowly claiming more of a presence & for good reason.
Wednesday is a good day to run into fishermen/​scientist alike, who cant pass up the $ 1 off happy hour.

Micro-​brew heaven. Simple yet clever menu, multiple games and plenty of room. I’ve never seen a band there but it looks like a perfect place for a fun show. The staff has always been friendly.

This place is such a gem! Great staff! They are more then happy to suggest a beer to fit your tastes and give you testers of various beers (which are all pretty yummy!). They had live music and a fun atmosphere! Great place!

while they have a surprisingly limited tap selection for a place specifically devoted to craft beer, all the selection are good, the staff is knowledgeable, and the vibe is mellow. they have darts, billiards, and shuffle board. they also have a great bottle selection

Great place, love coming after a good (or bad) surf. I have to admit many of the bars around Newport aren’t very inviting, but this one is awesome. Good prices, the staff feel like friends (though sometimes they’re so busy being friends with the patrons you wait a few minutes to be served. Reasonable priced bar food, my only complaint is it’s clear it’s not cooked but microwaved.

Stopped in for a drink and found Beir 1 to be pleasantly inviting. A good variety of beers on tap. We were there on a Monday night and were able to play shuffleboard, pool, and darts all for free while enjoying our beverages. The bartender was very friendly and made us feel welcomed.

For someone who is 26, this is the place to be. People with class, beer is brewed there and affordable. The service was excellent. The owners are awesome and very friendly. What i found odd was that wednesdays are apparently their busy time. If your younger and enjoy a crowd of the same age, come here. awesome place.

Truly…“where everybody knows your name and they’re glad you came” — your home away from home. Always a great selection on tap or in the cooler. Best Monte Cristo on the Oregon Coast. Hands down. Foos or you lose. Drop the cue pay your due. Some nights a zoo and other nights very chill. You’ve got to figure out which night’s for you. They’ve got two dart boards, two pool tables, the best foosball table on the coast and did I mention their homebrew supplies. I like this place!

Great beer selection, pool tables, fooseball, darts, and college football on the flat screens. What more is needed while at the coast to enjoy the afternoon. Bartender helpful for selecting micros (Rainier for the macro crowd) and they also have brewing supplies.

We took an overnight trip to Newport recently and our stop at Bier One was one of the best parts of the trip. It was not part of the original plans but after being disappointed that the Rogue locations offered the same beers that we get in Portland we needed a Plan B.
Great tap beer selection (including a brewery we had not heard of or had beer from before), a small but well thought out bottle selection, pool tables, darts, foosball, sidewalk patio and friendly staff made it a great place to hang out at… which we did for many hours.
Next time I’m in Newport or talk to someone who will be there, Bier One will be at the top of my recommendations for places to have great beer.

Obviously lots of people can give 5 stars to a beer joint, especially if it is the BEST one in town.
They have a nice variety of good beers here. We always stop in to fill a growler when in Newport (it’s a good excuse to grab a beer while we’re there). The staff is nice and the vibe is relaxed.

If I lived in Newport this would be my everyday beer spot. They have a great selection of excellent local beers, affordable prices, good specials, and nice bartenders. The space is really two big rooms. One with the bar and the store where they sell brewing items and bottles, the other with a pool table and more seating.
Definitely a great spot to swing by for a pint or hang out with the local crowd.
