I’ve been interested in homes since I was a small child. Growing up in Cincinnati my grandmother would take me to Homearama every year and I would study the floor plans and draw my own on grid paper. Not long after turning eighteen I remodeled a 3-​room 1880’s home that my Dad owned. From that point forward I don’t think I’ve lived in a home I didn’t leave my mark on. I would rent a home for a year and spend most of the time working on it. Recently I’ve given new life to a home built in 1885 in the city of Newport, KY, which is where I currently live. I spent time in the United States Army and was lucky enough to be able to attend Northern Kentucky University because of that. I graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English with minors in video and photography. I was led to Home Inspecting and found that it gives me the opportunity to combine my skills and offer them to the public while being able to do the things I love every day.

This was our second inspection with Chad. We worked with him about a month ago for a possible home purchase and based on Chad’s findings, we decided not to purchase the home. We are so thankful for his expertise and honest feedback — it saved us from buying a home with numerous problems that we neither had the time or money to deal with. We found another home that was in much better shape and Chad’s inspection confirmed that this was a good purchase with minimal work needed. We are so glad we found him!

Chad completed two thorough inspections for me and was always great with timely communication and information. The the first inspection alerted me to serious issues with the home preventing me from making a huge mistake. The second house was much better. He educated me on things to look out for, issues that may arise in the future, and improvements that would add value over time. His report was detailed, informative, and to me by the next day. Seller agreed to almost every repair that was recommended due to the evidence presented. Highly recommend Chad and Slab To Slate!

I had a wonderful experience with Chad during my recent home inspection. He was very thorough and I feel he found many problems an average inspector would have missed. He is very knowledgeable and is great at educating potential home buyers of the potential hazards that may arise from specific problems. His prices are comparable to other inspectors and his inspections last around 4 hours. I will be a lifetime customer. I would highly recommend Chad for home inspections based on my recent experience with him. He was timely in his response to my inquiry and setting up the appointment was easy. His inspection was extremely thorough and he identified multiple issues, including a major electrical issue that ended up being a dealbreaker on that property. He was friendly and professional and provided a detailed summary of his findings, complete with photos, within 24 hours. We also had the radon and termite testing performed (I believe he sub-​contracts other companies for these services, but I had no complaints about either). I will definitely use his services again and would highly recommend him.

Chad was AWESOME! He arrived on time (before me) and was very thorough. The inspection took about 4 hours, maybe a little less. He explained everything very simply to me since I am a first time home buyer with almost no experience when it comes to maintenance and repairs. Surprisingly we chatted the entire time and he was very friendly & professional. His prices were extremely fair and I believe the cheapest. I did the whole home inspection, bug & termite, and tested for radon. All 3 services are worth it! Although there wasn’t any bugs, the radon was through the roof. I even followed up with him about a window question and he was able to point me in the right direction, that got me what I deserved in closing. I definitely recommend him to everyone!
