zero stars if possible. DO NOT do business with Lux Auto Plus. I have just had the absolute worst customer service experience of my life.

I will not give Lux Auto any of my business!
I drove 2 hours one way– with a pocket full of cash for a down payment after talking to an employee about buying an Audi A4– I had a 430pm appointment–
I finally arrive at 4:15pm– there’s no one in the showroom… I stood there for 5 minutes looking at the cars before walking down the hall to some back room where everyone was sitting.
Some guy sitting on his a$$ asks if he can help me!
I said I was here to talk to chris about buying an audi– I walk out to the showroom– chris comes out 30 seconds later. He has no clue who I am or who I talked to the day before.
I tell him I’m looking at buying the audi a4 I saw on craigslist– he says they sold it a few days ago!!! I explained that I just drove 2 hours one way to see this car and that I had an appointment (I live in Nh!!!)
He then continues to try and sell me the BMW on the floor– saying they are pretty much the same car! — The BMW was more money, less MPG and no navigation– far from being the same car. He didn’t look very happy when I said I was all set with the BMW–
I wasted an entire afternoon and $ 20 in gas– and the best part is– THE Audi IS STILL LISTED ON CRAIGSLIST!!!
I’m all set with Lux Auto! Stay away from these scammers. They are the typical lazy «say anything to get you there» sleazeball dealer!

I seldom write a negative review of any business, but this warrants it to hopefully protect someone else down the line… I saw an ad for a Chevy Trailblazer on Craiglist and stopped in to test drive it, as it fit into what I was looking for and in the price range I wanted to stay within.
The SUV was a nice vehicle and drove well, but the check engine light was on… When I returned from the test drive, I mentioned this to the salesman and he said to me, they aren’t fixinf it or doing anything to it. He said they wholesale them to the public and this is their way around Mass. Law… Well, I just got off the Phone with the Office of Consumer Affiars and they said that this dealership is NOT allowed to do this… Rather deceptive practice if you ask me. Also, the salesman was going to have someone hook a computer up to the car and let me know why that light was on… I never heard back from them.

Exactly what you would expect in a sleazy car salesmen was so quick too take my Deposit without giving me a receipt that after not being able to work out a deal they refused to return my money. Place is terrible avoid you might as well burn your money.

Stopped in to test drive an Audi here. Nathan (sales) was polite and professional. Pulled the car out and let me take it for a test drive. 20 seconds in I could hear a loud thumping from the tires. The sound was impossible to miss upon even a cursory drive. I don’t find it a coincidence that when I hopped in for the test drive, the vehicle had the windows down, the sunroof open, and the music cranked.
Anyways, figured it needed new tires and kept up my drive to get back to the dealership. Halfway back (this was maybe a 15 minute drive in total) and the check engine light comes on.
Yeesh.
So– I get back to the dealership and walk in, informing Nathan of the issues I heard with the car. He seemed surprised and went to discuss it with his business/​finance manager (Michael).
Michael comes out and… he’s exactly the kind of guy you think of when someone says «used car salesman». Very hesitant, a lot of avoiding eye contact, a lot of half-​truths, etc.
Michael begins to tell me about how much more they do than other dealerships to check their cars, etc and that everything they sell is «certified». When I inquired as to whether or not that certification came from the manufacturer, he told me no and that they did their own certification that was MORE comprehensive than the Audi dealer.
Mmm hmm…
We continue our discussions and eventually I got him to admit that the «Certification» was nothing more than a glorified service contract available from any car dealer (and, in other words, it’s not «certified» until you pay a bunch of money on top of the car costs). In addition, he insisted that the car I had driven had been thoroughly inspected prior to my driving it– even going so far as to insinuate something that I did on my 15 minute drive through suburban Newton may have caused the check engine light. Sure Michael– blame the customer!
At this point I had no desire to stay at the dealership one more minute. In a last-​ditch effort, Michael asked if «we fix this car today –is it the one that you want to buy?»
This kind of dishonesty and sleaziness is usually reserved for your small, fly-​by-​night dealerships but these guys are actually owned/​affiliated with Herb Chambers. And– that says a lot.
Chambers is the largest volume dealer in Massachusetts and you can’t push a ton of volume slowly. These guys get cars in from trades or auction and they hire young, hungry guys to aggressively sell vehicles (just look for the tasteless Breitlings adorning the wrists of the sales force on the floor– they clearly don’t know any better!). We could get into all the reasons for this (dealer floor plans etc) but needless to say, they need to push cars as fast as they possibly can and they’d rather sell a few lemons and deal with them later than make sure the car is decent from the get-​go.
The «full inspection» part of the process that they claim happens before they sell a car doesn’t actually happen until you, the customer, place your down-payment…why would they sink money into a car they don’t know if they could sell?! So now– you’ve got a dealership that hasn’t been honest with you and has an incentive to make the highest margin possible on each car responsible for spending the money to ensure that the vehicle you’re getting is reliable? I think not. They put just enough effort in that the vehicle makes it past the 60 day lemon law requirements in MA and then you’re on your own.
Stay away from these guys. Their neighbors at Newton Auto Group or Herb Connolly are no where near as flashy, but they tone down the BS to a dull roar.

A friend and I were about to travel to Chestnut Hill, when said friend informed me that he had «won» $ 3,000 from a ginormous mailing he received from this auto dealer. The fraud klaxon alert sound was going off in my head. My friend reasoned that even if we get nothing out of it, we can see how a salesperson reacts to stonewalling. I relented, as this place wasn’t too far from Chestnut Hill…
There’s not much of a sign to this spot and it’s a bit hard to find. The salesman we had to endure was your typical used car salesman: relentless, overly aggressive, and lacking in listening skills. He attempted in every way to get my friend to purchase a car. The salesman hardly discussed the contest and why my friend was not receiving $ 3,000. After his futile attempts were all exhausted, the salesman just relented and checked to see what he won. But I thought it was $ 3,000…
The salesman returned to give my friend 3 coins. Yup, $ 3 in coins. My friend and I left the showroom chuckling at how flustered the salesman looked after being stonewalled. Needless to say, don’t come here; not even for «$ 3,000».

These people sent this extremely over-​sized sweepstakes ‘flyer’ with some kind of match & win game gimmick. It so smacked of a ruse I would never consider doing business with them. After reading these reviews I’d say I am making the right decision.

That is the worst palce I have ever been! They have 6 days event with chance to win $ 30 000. Huge pamphlet came on the mail and you can pul the tabs and win. We «won» $ 3000. When we went at the dealership a guy started asking us questions about our car. the payments, the millage, they even checked it out… and by that time not even one word for the «win». He said we will check later if you have won. They tried to get our car and give us more expensive one to pay for 3 – 5 years more. Never felt so lied and uncomfortable. After one hour of torture we wanted to leave and never even checked the imaginary win!!!
After this experience I would never go back there!!!

Car buying is stressful! Especially a used one. I strolled over to this place to test drive and buy a Mazda 3. Dealt with Micheal (manager I believe) and sales guys Kiko. Car was nice, but I left the place feeling insulted. When I quoted my price to them, they wanted to know where I came up with my price, rather than start the negotiating. everyone knows there is some leeway on a car, the customer low balls, the dealer high balls, you play the game and reach a figure. I quoted my source and then told them that’s my offer and got up to leave because I was tired of the back and forth that Kiko did every 2 seconds to the managers office. If you don’t have the authority to negotiate, then freaking don’t kid. Anyways, Mike finally comes out when I stick to my price, shaves a $ 1000 off the dealer price and insists that I sign the papers. I said thank you, that I’ll think about it and got up to left and that’s when he pissed me off with «what?! you got a lot of time on your hands?!»
Really? Throwing sarcastic comments doesn’t win over the customers.

If you want to experience what car buying must have been like 20 years ago… stop by Lux Auto Plus. It is almost comical the silly game that the sales person played in terms of the number of times having to go back and forth with the manager. And the lines thrown in like «we want you to be part of the family» and «you are a neighbor and we want to work with you for years» apparently are not quite as genuine as one might have hoped. Being questioned as to why I wanted to stay with my financing option and why I did not want the bogus «certified extended coverage» was bad enough but the lack of integrity is what got me to walk out. We agreed on a price and I explicitly mentioned to the sales person that buying through USAA car service would take an additional $ 275 off the final negotiated price. When it came time to sign the price sheet the $ 275 was no where to be found and the manger sheepishly uttered…“I thought that was already in the price.” The sales person could only say…“oh…sorry”. So, rather than deal with these aspiring scam artists any further… I walked out. I would suggest that you never walk in.

I’ve been to a lot of dealerships and have to say I was incredibly impressed with the professionalism and dedication of the entire staff at Lux. First of all they have an amazingly convenient location, right off of the Pike and close to 128 and considering they’re a «city» dealership they actually have parking both on street and in a nice little lot adjacent to the dealership. While not the largest or fanciest place I’ve ever been to it is certainly clean, nice and professional which makes sense considering I read that it used to be a Ferrari Maserati dealership previously.
The staff is amazing from David Goldberg who spoke to me on the phone and was not only friendly but very informative and the epitome of a straight shooter to the sales person Nathan who was very patient and willing to let me drive multiple vehicles and explain all of the features and benefits to the Finance Director Michael who not only got me an amazing deal on financing but was able to get me full coverage for the vehicle I wanted including not just full warranty coverage but even coverage for the tires and rims, the interior/​exterior of the car, roadside assistance and more. I even met the owner who sits right in the dealership and thanked me personally.
All in all a great experience and I can’t recommend them enough.

I was pregnant and looking for a bigger car for my family, so I came across of their web site and realize they were next door to me. I was so happy because I found the car that I want to right next to me … Ohhhh man what a mistake. I regret ever penny I gave to those people. I should have read these reviews before I made my final decision, but unfortunately I didn’t. At first the guy their Nick was very nice until I signed the papers. First problem appeared when they had to order a new side mirror that was broken, apparently that was the only issue the car had.
I’m a sales person for over 10 years so I know the tricks when something goes wrong. They kept the car for over a week saying that Toyota sent the wrong part and they had to return and reorder the right one, that was ok, I pretend I understood.
That was just the begging of my nightmare. I took the car to my mechanic and he made a list of everything that was wrong with the car and I gave the list to Nick and he said they will take care of everything, I feel so silly that I believed on them, but I thought we had good sales people on this world, like me I have to say.
The car went back to them several times until they said everything was fixed and the warranty was over, of course. He was always giving me the same excuse ohhh «we order the part from Toyota but they sent the wrong one and we have to wait for the right one» … What a lie! The parts was never original from Toyota, they probably bought at the junk yard. When I confronted him about a list of everything that was done on the car he took a month to give to me, and remember I live not even a block away from them. I was proud of myself because I was giving a local business my trust, but I was wrong. I have so much to say that I could write a book here, lol.
My final words about these people is: «THEY ARE BULL SHIT ARTISTS».
Stay away from them, they don’t care about you. They only want your money. I’m stuck with a piece junk. Don’t trust them. I hope I could spread these words for every single person who walks in that place, but I can’t. Very unsatisfied with the service.

Can I give less than one star?
My complaint is identical to the others I see. My daughter purchased a Honda Civic here. The price was so-​so but she was in a hurry and I went along. They gave us the rap about 30 day warranty and fixing all issues.
The one obvious thing we had them fix was the addition of a hood release cable. Well, we are perhaps 120 days post-​purchase and the hood release cable they put in has already failed.
Worse, right around 30 days the exhaust system began to fail. Upon examination it turned out that they had placed hose clamps over the heat shields for the front exhaust pipe to temporarily hide a crack in the pipe and the growing exhaust noise. just enough of a repair to get the car off of the lot, knowing that it would probably last 30 days and then leave you stuck with a big repair bill.
Also, back to the purchase process, they tell you one price but then at closing try to stick you with a whole litany of ridiculous fees and charges.
This is clearly a deeply dishonest operation. AVOID!!!

my poor friend got screwed by them these crooks they promise fixed the car she keep going back with the same problem a week after she purchase the car but they keep bull shit her and dint fixed the car right!!! i told her take them to court!!! buyer be aware…

Having done my research on a Lexus RX, I found a deal offered by Lux Auto Plus for one with only 44,000 Miles and in my price range. A really good deal. Immediately I email the dealer through
to inquire about the car. I get a response minutes later which is great, saying «The car you inquired about is still available» from a guy named Nick.
I check the website in the morning and it states they open up at 9:00 AM. I head over there in the morning and walk into an empty showroom with no one in sight.
I’m a little weary but I walk over to Dunkin’ Donuts for a coffee before coming back to the still empty showroom. I’m standing there for a few minutes until I hear a flushing toilet and eventually a young man around my age walks out. This is Nick. Nick indicates to me they open at 10:00 AM but he gets in early. I can see that now thank you.
So I ask him about the car I inquired about and he tells me that car sold over the weekend. It was Wednesday, and he told me it was still available. He offered to show me the other two he had in stock that each had 30,000 more miles on them and were higher priced.
Either he lied (poorly) and attempted to try the old bait and switch, or he’s completely useless.
I rarely write a bad review as I just try to reward good businesses but I’m not going to be treated that way. I turned around and walked right out and took my business elsewhere.

BUYER BEWARE!!!
I purchased a CLEAN pre-​owned Lexus from Greg, the owner. The first time I filled the gas I had the fluids checked and the TRANSMISSION FLUID was low. It has been low ever since and I have to fill the transmission fluid up every 3 gas fill ups!
After monthly telephone calls to no avail, and their refusing to respond to the Consumer Office, Greg put my call on hold… and left me there. He also did not respond to their calls.
I got screwed with this car and they knew if they just would waste time my time would run out to be reimbursed. They know what they are doing!!!
Do NOT give these crooks your business!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!

I came in looking to buy a car I had seen online. When I walked in, I was instantly overpowered with the smell of paint fumes. A technician was painting and detailing the car inside of the show room, when asked why, he said because it was «cold outside». I told him I had asthma and paint fumes bothered me, and he shrugged and kept working. We had to wait 15 minutes for anyone to even notice us as not staff was around on a Saturday afternoon. When we finally did get someone’s attention, we test drove the car I came in to see. It was filthy; dust and dirt and contents of the previous owner were inside the car. It was clear no one had bothered to clean it at all before test driving it. I came back after and had to leave; the paint fumes were making me dizzy. I will never go back there again. One of the most unprofessional experiences I have ever encountered.

First off I read the comeback for the unsatisfied customer that commented and there was not one thing it had to say about that customer… odd?
On to my own experience, I went in to purchase a vehicle with my husband with cash in hand along with a trade. I sat with a young man named Nick. The original vehicle we were looking for had been out for 1 solid week with the owner so we were not able to purchase that vehicle. They had another vehicle similar on the lot that we were happy with so we test drove it and loved it! Now we sit down with Nick who really can’t make any deals on his own (EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING) and begin to go back and forth with the numbers. With only one other man on site it was somewhat comical how they were talking amongst themselves. We settled on a deal that I wasn’t thrilled about but none the less we were gonna buy this car UNTIL… Nick first messed up on the sales tax, when he over charged us quite a bit (probably to make up for the money they needed to get back for this deal). Then as I sat there Nick began to look uo the cost of our extended warranty, holding the binder close to his lap so no one could see. When I stood up to stretch he almost hid it from me by holding it even closer! Not sure why until I heard the cost for a 3 year comprehensive warranty — $ 2,600.00! This is almost laughable! Considering a 5 year same policy is under $ 2,000.00 really guys? That was when I took my tired child and walked out! No thanks — UNPROFESSIONAL, UNTRUSTWORTHY OVER ALL BAD GUYS!

BEWARE AND STAY AWAY
I bought a used 03′ Honda Accord from these guys. They said there were no issues with the car and it has a clean CarFax. They also gave me a free CarFax report, it did looked clean. After a few weeks when I took it for a general service, the guy at the service center told me that it looks like there was a major accident on the car and the entire left side of the card has been re-​painted. Also the suspension and doors were changed. When I decided to sell it, one of the potential buyer ran the VIN on AutoCheck and it returned a major accident and 1 minor accident. Strangely the CarFax does not report those. I had to sell it at a very low price than I thought I would get.
Bottom line, they will do anything that it takes to sell a lemon to you. STAY AWAY. There are plenty of car dealers out there who are honest and ethical.
