Newton Fire and Flood

Like many New England homeowners, we experienced significant damage in our home due to ice dams. We attempted to get several contractors to assess and remediate the damage but could get no action from them. Our contractor working on other home projects recommended Newton Fire and Flood. Within two days we had them onsite, determining what needed to be done and within another week their tem was here starting the remediation. They coordinated their efforts with time that we would be out of town to best accomodate our needs. Their tem was professional, efficient, courteous and responsive to all our concerns and anxieties. We have no reservation recommending them for whatever project you may need completed.

We had a major flood in the basement of our brand new home. Obviously we were extremely traumatized. Newton Fire and Flood was right there to help us and made the process very easy for us. I researched various Flood restoration places before calling Newton Fire Flood.
Unilocal was very useful in the process of picking Newton Fire and Flood. The company got good reviews on Unilocal,especially since they said the owner gets involved directly. I called and sure enough the owner called me back before 7 AM ! Philip is the owner. Unilocal was right! The owner was hands-​on involved from beginning to end. He knew of the flood even before I told him.
They do the exact same thing that the large companies do. They all have the exact same equipment, same fees and charges, they are all capable. The difference here is that Phillip, the owner is there, and will stand behind his work. He said it takes them one day to do this and he can have a crew at our house by the same morning that I called. (since the damage in my home was substantial, it took them 3 days but the insurance covered everything) They have spcl commercial dryers, and dehumidifiers. they take a million photos. The faster you dry it, the less mold there is. «The sheetrock gets wet, wicks right up like a sponge. We cut 2 feet around the baseboard and remove the wet insulation. Then in a few days a contractor can put up new sheetrock. Or we can do it — we are a full service company. We can do anything and everything»

This company is great! They repaired the damage done by ice damming which occurred last winter, including alleviating the mold that had grown inside the wall and ceiling. They did a perfect job of repairing and reconstruction of the damaged areas including replacing the crown molding on the window. They dealt directly with the insurance company too.
They always answered my questions, were polite and very pleasant. i would highly recommend Newton Fire and Flood.

I’ve had these guys do work at my house for several projects, first after our basement flooded unexpectedly, and for several other projects afterwards. The workers are hard-​working and reliable. The owner is very attentive and responsive and ensures his customers are satisfied with their work. After a recent snow storm, I called to see if they could clear our roof, and they came out within 24 hours. When I asked them to do a little additional cleanup around the area they dumped the snow from the roof, they didn’t hesitate to help, even though it was beyond the scope of their original work. I have these guys on speed-​dial.

Overall we are very happy with this company. Quick estimate after our basement flooded, quick service, prices (after bargaining) in line with the other providers. The reason that we are taking a star off, is that the first time the workers showed up, their results were sloppy — they left a patch of wet carpet under a dryer, and old carpet was piled up uncovered under the rain in the backyard. After a call to the owner they came back the next day and did a very thorough job, even disposing of the old carpet, even though it was not part of the agreed price. So inspect the results before the workers leave and do not be shy about pointing out any rough spots, but they do their job quickly and efficiently.

Great service. Great owner was always on top of the project. Everything was taken care of really fast. The quality of the work is great. You will be happy you pick this company.
