YURY’s PIANO is a local piano dealer, restoration and repair shop that also offers full piano-tuning services in the greater Boston area. Our services are distinguished by excellence in complete piano restoration — whether we’re working with a modern Yamaha or a turn-of-the-century Steinway, it’ll sound as good as new. We also offer piano tuning services in homes, schools and other places around Boston at affordable prices.
Yury offers 13 years of European experience as well as almost 30 years of experience in the United States.

I graduated from Music College and Conservatory as a pianist.
I worked with the Philharmonic as an accompanist. Pianos there were very worn and had to be repaired before each performance. Soon, I had completely transformed myself into a piano rebuilder to earn a living.
Working as a piano tuner at the Moscow Conservatory I gained invaluable experience in «troubleshooting». I learned how to quickly repair a sticking key, or how to change a broken string in the three minutes that were left before a performance.
In Russia, we could not replace worn or broken parts because spare parts were not available. Here, I have the option to repair a part or to replace it. Replacing is easier, but often a piano with the original parts sounds better. When properly repaired, the original parts can give new life to an old instrument.
This is what I like doing the best, reviving these old hopelessly destroyed instruments.
