Ordered 2 draughts. One did not taste good, and we have had it before. The beer was ¾ full too. They would not exchange or refund. We cancelled dinner and left. They charged 6.25 for each draft beer. Customers should not be treated like that. I gave one star for me putting up with poor customer service.

Nice atmosphere, a little grungy, but likable, good server, not the best bar tender. Don’t know how the food was, but the Guinness was flat, hence the decreased rate, and the bar keep custom service.

My friends and I were in town this past weekend for a graduation. We went to this bar after being turned away(for reasons unknown) from the Norfolk taproom. It met our expectations, the beer was cold, the service friendly, and the price cheap.

Place was dirty, chairs were ripped and bar was old. I would be ok with the atmosphere but the staff was rude and the owner was the worst. I had a issue with my smithwicks beer(that I always drink) and it was watery and didn’t taste right. Instead of asking if I want something else or tasting it she continued to argue and said 100 people have had it tonight and it was fine. She made a scene in front of the entire bar and let me walk out angry.

What a fun place we stumbled upon. Fairly typical Irish bar with live«join in signing» entertainment most nights. It is pretty much a dive bar, so know what you’re walking in to and the service is crappy even though it was not jammed. Don’t think I would eat anything there, but it is fun to have a drink and enjoy the entertainment. Will stop in again for a pint when nearby for sure. Believe they are closed on Mondays.

We ended up here accidentally due to the place we intended on going being filled to capacity for the evening. Calling this place disgusting doesn’t even begin to come close. The bathrooms, tables, floor, and chairs were all dirty and in disrepair. The food was horrible. We should have just stopped eating it, but we were travelling and hungry. My corned beef and cabbage was deli meat corned beef(sliced for sandwiches) and microwaved within an inch of its life. French fries and fish alike were soaked in grease and soggy. The bartender didn’t know to pour out a stout. Honestly, I wanted to update all of my innoculations after dining at this grimy cesspool of ill repute. When you walk in and your senses scream that you are taking your life in your hands, please trust your instincts. There were just no redeeming qualities about this place.

If the fact that the owner isn’t Irish puts you off you are in the wrong place. The food is good, the people are nice and the drink is free flowing… If you’re looking for anything else it’s you that gets less than 4 stars. As someone who was on Riverdance for 5 years I can tell you Mo and Omalleys is as good as it gets.

It’s 7:08PM. Ordered 3 apps and an entrée at 6:10PM. Apps came at 6:55, still no entrée. Owner/bartender, when confronted with this information, said«I doubt it’s been an hour.» That gives you an idea of the service.

Awesome place. The bartender, and owner?, is very cool! I love her! I’ll visit this place again just to say hi to the lady. Great service, unique place and good drinks. I think the sticker in Arabic is hilarious! Also, I love the other stickers and nick knacks. For sure I’ll stop by just to visit this pub!

I may have overly high standards but when i go to a Irish Pub, order a Guiness with a shot whiskey I expect the beer to be poured the right way. Not here, the older lady straight up poured that thing like a miller light and put it in front of me. Since im not a jerk i politely paid for it, choked it down and left. That hipster bar accross the street is better anyways. IDK why but this place was PACKED too. made no sense to me.

This woman is destroying Granby Street. It was not even busy yet and there were 3 ladies standing around while 1 server dealt with a customer who was discussing a non-itemized tab and paying taxes. We got to wait(starving) for the 1 server for quite awhile while the others –including the owner who is the short haired bartender — stood by. The owner is a foreigner(not Irish) who seems very shady. Stay away until someone else is in charge! p. s. I get that they don’t want to serve food but they could at least go look at how the rest of the block runs their businesses.

Sad really. I used to go here years ago and I loved it. I was a regular. It stinks of cigarettes and it is empty. Weekday Musical acts don’t play if bar is empty… I suspect bar is empty because weekday musical acts don’t play if the bar is empty. Sad I won’t be back.

We stopped into Mo and O’Malleys after the bayou boogaloo festival. We sat at the bar, two bartenders on duty were a short female, gray hair, long braid, and an older woman with a German accent. At one point, one of the people in our party ordered a glass of wine. It was terrible, so after one sip she asked the gray haired woman if she could exchange it for something else. The bartender said no problem, and we got a strongbow cider instead. At the end of the night when we asked for our check, they just gave us a receipt with the total, nothing itemized. I asked to see the itemized one, and discovered he wine had been charged anyway. We pointed it out to the bartender, and she said«yes, you ordered it». We noted that she had agreed to exchange it for another drink, because the wine was terrible, and even took the full glass of wine back. She said, «that’s our policy, you ordered it, you have to pay for it», refused to take it off. The place was pretty dirty, 3 of their draft beers were not even available, and drinks were on the expensive side for a dive bar vibe. There are plenty of other options on Granby street, I’d give this place a wide berth.

Alright, I like this place because it’s a dumpy little irish bar. They have great musicians that come in and sing irish songs all night long. What’s wrong with that? So the carpet is funky, and the tables are wobbly and crooked, the bathrooms aren’t exactly spotless, and they keep half of the bar«closed» because they aren’t busy enough to open the whole area. But you know, this is usually our last stop when we are downtown enjoying other bars. So maybe by the time we arrive here, we are too far gone to realize how awful the place is. It doesn’t matter to me though, I like it here and the drinking is fun!

My kind of dive. Yes, it’s a dive, and that’s perfectly ok. Why? Well for one, because you don’t eat at a dive you just drink there. You’re certainly not going to bring your mother here… It is a good place to party though and well worth stopping in for a beer or two while you’re walking this end of Granby St.

Ugh– gross. Not exactly a huge fan of this place. I came here for an ugly christmas sweater bar golf event and this was one of the bars we had to attend. I spent an hour too long here. Ugly décor(bras, gross underwear, and the walls lined with dollar bills… I’m assuming it’s their back up money for when this place goes under). Old, cranky bartenders, and the place is just dirty. I had a 7&7 and an Irish car bomb. The drink was strong and I’ll admit it was good. The Irish car bomb… well…you can’t really mess that up, can you? Not one of my favorite places.

Ugh… I hate doing this but geez… I thought this place was a dump. Dirty tables. Tables that didn’t even stand evenly. Graffiti all over the bathroom walls(I didn’t feel that the writings on the wall were meant to give the place character). The waitress serving my friend was even rude at one point. He was in the middle of a conversation and she rudely yelled hello twice to get his attention. Unless it were a group event I wouldn’t go back there.

I’ve only been to Mo and O’Malley’s once, and I do plan to go back even though there were a few issues. My husband and I went in last Friday evening around 630. The place was absolutely packed – there was a large group of veterans in town for an event as well as the Granby Street Experience festival. This place looks old and quaint and has a real pub feeling. That’s definitely a plus – it’s not stylized in any way that I could see. It really has that authentic, hole-in-the wall pub feel. There were cobwebs in the windows(albeit small ones). The ceilings and walls are painted kelly green and there’s a tiny stage. Graffiti-ed dollar bills are plastered all over the walls. Made for interesting reading as we waited for our food! I didn’t see any TVs but my back was facing the bar… if they have TVs, this would be the kind of place you could probably watch soccer matches and feel like you’re in the UK. I ordered a Smithwick(draft…kind of watered down tasting) and fish and chips. My husband had the fish and chips as well. It was pretty good, actually. The food was hot and fresh. The fries were crispy without being too greasy or overcooked. My first impression of the fish was that it was from a freezer(it was shaped like that fish you get in the school cafeteria, you know what I mean?). Anyway, it didn’t taste as if it had come from a freezer, so I was happy about that. There was coleslaw as an accompaniment(pretty tasty) and a nice tartar sauce.(I like vinegar on my fish but our waitress was slammed, so I just let it go this time.) For the affordable price of the food, I was satisfied. Because the place was so packed and they only had one cook, it took nearly an hour to get our food. The waitress was very nice and accommodating – I felt pretty sorry for her as I’m sure she was getting the blame for it. We were actually getting ready to cancel our order when she suddenly appeared with our food. Considering that there was a festival on that evening and with it the likelihood of more business, I would have thought they’d plan to serve a higher volume of people. I’ll try it again and see what happens!

I’ve been here only one time, and based on that one evening I should come here more often. A girlfriend of mine and I decided to stop by and meet up some friends after we saw a movie at nearby MacArthur Center. Upon walking in I felt like this was the most rustic, cozy, and welcoming bar in the area. We were treated to a live act, a soloist who’s a pretty good guitarist and singer. He belted out tunes new and old and I enjoyed his request hour. Since I’ve only been here once I don’t want to toot its horn until I’ve had a chance to hang out there again. But based solely on that one evening I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would recommend it to anyone that’s craving an Irish bar experience. JV

Not a terrible place for knocking a few back, but the mixed drinks are not very strong and the service is kinda shoddy. The bartender also served me a drink that had 2FRUITFLIES in it! I don’t know how she didn’t see them… they were clearly visible black specks floating on top of the ice. I brought it to her attention and she apologized profusely & quickly made me another drink. Eeps. Let me drop a little knowledge on you guys real quick: «Mo» is the tall, dark haired, no-nonsense GERMAN woman; and«O’Malley» is someone she made up. You can’t trust a German who owns an Irish Pub!
