Awesome barbershop. My son and I will continue to go. We always feel welcomed and have a good time.

Got a great haircut and the barbers were nice. Good environment for men to relax & get cleaned up. Thanks guys

Quick and easy shave, polite, and clean environment. All the customers seem to be known and regulars, i’m visiting from Chicago and staying at Marriott next door. I wouldn’t pass them up if you need a touch up!
I disagree with previous reviewers that said it was an uncomfortable environment, although I wasn’t there the days they went to this barber, my experience was anything but uncomfortable. I’m a black male and was acknowledged and welcomed when I walked in the door.

By the point in the conversation when the customer says, «Why can’t black people do anything without the governments help?», I think he should have already been asked to shut the fuck up or leave. Instead, everyone chuckled and I was really uncomfortable and silent for the remainder of the haircut… which was also bad.

This is a wonderful, classic barber shop. Shorty’s has been an important part of this community for many, many years. This is no beauty parlor — it’s a barber shop complete with barber pole, the Cubs game on the TV, and barbers talking about their recent fishing trips or where to get the best fried chicken.
While they welcome walk-​ins, you may have to wait a bit, though there are magazines to read and toys for the kiddies. Reservations are recommended for those on a schedule. I always call ahead.
I’ve been getting my haircut there for years, and though I tend to wait for it to get too long before getting it cut, my favorite barber at Shorty’s immediately recognizes my voice as soon as I call for a reservation and calls me by name. He remembers how I like my hair cut and asks me about some of my favorite activities.
I get great hair cuts and feel right at home. It’s like hanging out with old friends.

The conversation is usually much better than the $ 13 haircut.
