Jojutlas Mexican Grill

It is more like a three star place but the fact that you can bring your own beer gives it that 4^th star. The food was good. I have actually eaten here a few times before I wrote this review just not too sure but I do like it service is great.

We got carry out here last night. At first I thought the price was a little high, but then when I tasted it and saw the portions, I realized it’s really a great deal. Mexican Lasagna, Grilled Chicken Salad, Tacos; they were all very good. Everything seems fresh, and tastes homemade. I wish they had retried beans, but even w/​out there is plenty to enjoy!

We love this restaurant! We’ve eaten here about 2 dozen times and have never had a bad meal. Highly recommend the fish tacos, burger, and skinny bowl.

Finally, good Mexican food in the Akron area. The guacamole has just the right amount of spice. You can build your tacos anyway you like them. The Mexican lasagna has a great combination of sauce, tortillas, cheese and salsa.

Next time you’re in the mood for Chipotle or Moe’s, do yourself a favor and skip the corporate shop and check this place out. Friendly atmosphere, super fresh ingredients, and delicious options across the menu. Very well done!

Visiting from CA and stopped in. Definitely the best customer service we have experienced since being in Ohio. My husband had the nachos and I had 3 tacos; one chicken, one beef, one pork. Very tasty!

Their chicken chimichangas are the best in Ohio! Authentic tasting and fresh, everything on the menu is delicious. Their twist item of Mexican lasagna is brilliant in execution and taste. Great owner and staff. Highly recommend!

Second trip just as good as the first! Food was excellent, staff was perfect, experience was top notch! Make the trip, be adventurous with your choices. They have endless combinations and options!

We ate here for the first time after seeing a picture of their tacos posted on Facebook. If you’ve never eaten here before definitely look up the menu first, it’s very overwhelming the options to choose from when ordering.
The staff was very helpful and friendly, I ordered the Chimichanga’s which were supposed to be a best seller… to me they were bland, and they actually forgot them with my order so i’m not sure if they tried to rush and bring them out after I reminded them, but the dough was not crispy, it was chewy and under done, so that could have been part of the problem. I did like the mexican rice and queso they came on top of.
My boyfriend got the shrimp tacos, which I tried and those were fantastic, the slaw was fresh and crispy, the seasoning on the tacos had a little bite to it but not too much, I would definitely order those again.
Overall it’s a bit pricey, but the ingredients are fresh, I will give this a second try.

Thinking of hitting up Chipotle? Don’t! Come to this place! It is my new number one for quick Mexican! Everything is so unbelievably fresh and tasty. I do not like cilantro, I do not like beans, I do not like tomatoes, but I had all three on the Mexican salad and loaded nachos I got here and loved them! I’d take a picture of the beautiful presentation, but I ate it all!

This review is based off of a takeout order my BF surprised me with. (He must of known I was hungry). Haha well anyways, he came home with fish tacos and some quesadilla looking thing. The fish tacos were for me since I LOVE seafood, and I liked them! They were very good! Now the quesadilla thing wasn’t all that imo.
Reason being for the 4 out of 5 is because I didn’t get to dine in and actually see the menu and order something for myself. Although, if I were to go back I’d probably consider those fish tacos again. In conclusion, my tummy is happy with what it received.

Have been here twice now as it’s just down the street. We actually decided to try it because we didn’t want to wait in a huge line for Chipotle. This is a decent substitute with a few more options. Staff was very friendly each time we’ve been there.
It wasn’t over the top great food, but good for a quick lunch or dinner. Restaurant was clean.

I’m starting a new way to do reviews. A restaurant will get up to one star for cleanliness, up to one star for friendliness of the staff, up to one star for fair price, up to two stars for the quality of the food.
The restaurant and sitting areas were clean, the staff was very friendly, and the food was decent. I think the price is a little too high and the food wasn’t great, it was just okay. So based on this, I give them 3-​Stars.
I ordered a burrito bowl without rice, but add guacamole. The guacamole looked a bit old and was turning brown, and it wasn’t the tastiest I’ve ever had. Average. The chicken had a weird stale taste to it, but I don’t think it was old, because it was moist, I think it’s the spice combination they used. Below average. The black beans were good, lettuce crisp and fresh.
Honestly, I’d rather eat at Chipotle for my burrito bowls. They’re less expensive and so much tastier.
Full Disclosure: I’m from AZ and lived in CA and I’m picky about my Mexican food.

Service is very thoughtful. Food is tasty and very fresh. Cooks use gloves to handle food and bring food out to you. Overall very good experience at Jojutlas!

Great place. Good food. Much better than chipotle. Everything is fresh. Employees are pretty helpful with ordering. Organic chicken available if you are into that but if not everything is still good.

This place is amazing. I just wish I had some closer to Cuyahoga falls. Lol. The staff is all very friendly and fast. Very clean from top to bottom. Food is genuine unique and well made. They have light food and some amazing heavy meals. All around love this place and glad to go out of my way to go back.

People working here are very nice but I didn’t like the food. I ordered the chicken chimichanga with side of black beans. The black beans were extremely bitter. I think they had a lot of garlic in them and perhaps it was the garlic that was bitter (which can happen if you overcook it). The chimichanga was luke warm and also had a bitter taste to it although not as bitter as the black beans.
I like to support independently owned businesses which is why I tried this place but if I decide to have fast casual Mexican in the future, I’d choose chipotle over this place.

I have yet to be disappointed at Jojutlas. Today was the first time on a Friday so I decided to try the Fish tacos. They were excellent and so were the black beans on the side.
I normally get the burrito bowl and I can highly recommend this also. You are asked what you would like in the bowl so it’s hard to get something you don’t love. If you go with the beef burrito bowl, I recommend the medium sauce as the meat itself has a good kick.

Not very impressed here the food was very mediocre. I had a burrito and they were out of steak… The queso also tasted watered down… The service was great but again no wow factor with the food. It seemed like a wanna be chipotle.

Last time I was here I noticed they really don’t have many options on the menu. I tend to like this strategy for most restaurants — dominate a few things rather than do many things half-​assed. Well, on this small menu I noticed they had a burger, which seems a bit odd and out of place, but one of the employees raved on how good it was. So, I took a leap of faith and tried it… and it was great. It just wasn’t some simple burger either. It was full of spice and flavor, it was also made with corn which brought some natural sweetness. It was topped with their pico de gallo which complemented well and I also added the guac. I asked them to cook it medium-​rare, fully expected somewhere between medium well and well. Nope, perfectly cooked to my surprise. The burger was also accompanied with fresh cut fries which were as good if not better than many local burger joints. Now let me say, the burger is a bit sloppy — its one of those you don’t want to put down unless you have an unlimited supply of napkins.
Again, the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. It also seems you go there once and you basically get chips and salsa free any visit after via a card they give you — which the hot salsa was very good. Nice spice, but good overall flavor and super fresh.
Let me say my wife got the burrito bowl with chicken both times and there is really nothing special about it. I think you are cheating yourself by getting this because they have so many great things on the menu otherwise (i.e. the burger, the chimichangas, and anything with that delicious pork).
I could easily see this being a go-​to takeout place for me. Regardless if I am in the mood for mexican food or not.
