Best Choice Delivery Moving & Storage

Couple of good reviews, but quite obviously they were written by the owner (Greg Ac osta) because we have just made a grave mistake in using this company
I will try keep this short, but just share the important details: Suffice to say, these are not actually movers, but they are contractors that have no trucks and deal with other movers to load, store and ship your goods. We moved from California to South Carolina, and the salesman, David Goldstein was very good, but we soon realized he is a very proficient, practiced liar, and sold us a bill of goods. Our furniture was 30 days late and the movers tried to charge us an extra $ 6000.00, but luckily, David was dumb enough to send us an invoice early in the move showing a zero balance. When the driver showed up to deliver our goods, the police were also there, and we had a local judge threaten the driver with jail unless he delivered our goods as promised. Please, please do not use this company… they are very practiced scammers. But with the assistance of the local sheriff, and a very understanding judge, we have our goods. These people, Greg Acosta, and David Goldstein, are the scum of the earth who have no compunction about holding peoples belongings to ransom. All I can hope is that they have to balls to respond to my post, contact me directly (you have my phone number) and sue me for libel. I look forward to our day in court.

I wouldn’t recommend Best Choice Delivery Moving & Storage to my worst enemy.
Here are a few of the things we went through:
— Come move day, the driver wanted to charge me 30−50% more due to unexpected inventory then what was noted. This is bullshit since David came to our apartment and did an in-​house estimate. He saw everything we intended to move and assured me the price would only change if «you add anything more than you showed me.»
— The driver threatened me into receiving a $ 400 tip and I quote, «If you treat us well, we will treat your stuff well. But if you don’t treat us well, you can expect your things to be treated like that.»
— The driver did not have wardrobe boxes which were promised and noted in the contract. My wedding dress, freshly dry cleaned dress shirts and suits were stuffed into boxes.
— The driver began emptying drawers and throwing my belongings into boxes because «they could break.» I was unaware that books, movies, and video games were breakables. These boxes are now MISSING.
— Upon delivery, the men asked my husband to help them unload boxes, refused to put anything in place and I saw boxes tumble and fall out of their truck. My $ 500 Breville food processor fell out of the box when they set it down.
— They also refused to reassemble anything.
— MISSING items: half of our bed, my brand new bike, our WEDDING ALBUM, boxes the movers packed themselves, and hundreds of baseball cards that have been in the family for decades. These are the same baseball cards that the driver INSISTED upon boxing himself so they would be «safe.» Interesting, eh?
I could go on, but I will spare you. Please, do not trust them with anything. They are liars, cowards and scum of the earth.

Wish i could give this place 0 stars! Stay away from this mover!!! It’s been at least 3 months since they picked up my goods. Now they wont return calls, nobody is answering the business phone. Gregory Acosta wont return calls or texts. They communicated very well once they got their money. I will now be reporting them and getting in touch with the police to report my goods stolen. Oh ya, they also used the excuse that they tried to get ahold of me but my phone wasnt working. Total BS so beware!
Update. Gregory acostas phone number no longer works a day after i left a message on voice mail and called him 10 – 15 times in a row. You know get a verizon message saying the number was changed or disconnected.
Please dont consider this mover!!!

I want to keep this brief because my fear is that a rant may not be read by someone who is seriously considering this outfit.
They will charge you for more than the estimate. They will hold your items hostage. They will tell you that if you tip them, they will treat your stuff better. This is a contractor situation — they do not have their own crew, despite what they tell you.
Every piece of our furniture was damaged, several items broken — so what.
But they lost my lifetime collection of baseball cards — binders of cards that they insisted on packing.
They lost my wife’s bike — a custom bike I bought her for her birthday.
They lost our Wedding Album.
I shouldn’t have to say any more. Don’t think about using them.

I’ll start off with the good so I can end on a rant.
The people who unpacked were nice. Ok… done with the good.
My experience with this company was terrible. They showed up a day late to pack. They told me it would take a day to pack, and it took them 3 days. I was quoted $ 8400 for the move, and on the second day of packing they told me it would be an additional $ 2000. After a day of arguing I got the $ 2000 down to $ 600. The movers were supposed to have my things at my new house on a Friday. They called me after 5pm on Friday to tell me they wouldn’t be there till Saturday, and they didn’t show up till 2pm on Sunday.
The customer service with this company is terrible as well as the communication. They broke a desk, 2 vases, dented my fridge multiple times, lost my 6ft, aluminum ladder, and my list my DeWalt cordless drill. I’ve tried twice to be compensated for these things and still have had no result.
Save yourself a huge headache and use anyone but this company.
I would not be at all surprised to find out the 2 five star reviews are employees.

WORST CHOICE I EVER MADE!!! INSANELY RIDICULOUS!!!
1. They didn’t show up on moving day, then David Goldstein lied and said they tried to confirm and I didn’t respond. .LIES, no one called me and left a message. Someone did call from an unknown number and when I called it back it was a credit agency. Furthermore I paid a deposit so I don’t understand how much more confirmation you need… When I called to find out where they were I couldn’t get anyone to take my calls. I had to badger David to get him to call me back.
2. When the movers did show up they were not prepared. I had to go to Home Depot myself and buy wardrobe boxes and supply packing material for things they were contracted to pack.
3. David never informed the drivers that there was a second pickup location at my office that was a few miles away. They acted very annoyed that they had to go to another location.
4. They gave me a guaranteed delivery date of two weeks after my move in date. When no one showed up after that date I couldn’t get anyone to take my calls. I had to trick Greg Acosta (the owner) into calling me back by calling from a different number and pretending to be a new customer. Again he lied and said he would have to check with his supervisor. I called him out and said I KNEW he was the owner at which point he went silent. THEY FINALLY SHOWED UP 30 DAYS PAST THE DELIVERY DATE!!!
5. They conveniently lost my $ 900 bicycle and solid oak headboard to my bed. Every box was smashed and they movers scuffed up the walls in every room. When I called to try and recover the costs David Goldstein informed me I would only be able to recoup 60 cents on the pound and made a snarky remark about me being to cheap to buy insurance. They promised to locate my missing items but haven’t returned my calls, emails or text for over two weeks.
THESE GUYS SUCK! I DON’T BELIEVE FOR ONE SECOND MY BIKE WAS MISPLACED. I’M SURE THEY DECIDED TO PROCURE IT FOR THEMSELVES. BUYER BEWARE! I’M SURE THE FIVE STAR REVIEWS ON HERE ARE FALSE!

I tried these guys out to move my stuff from North Hollywood to Glendale. They were very professional, very careful, and very affordable.
I highly recommend these guys. Great work.

I used this company last year when I moved and the crew showed up on time and they were friendly and energetic, and they hustled all day. They were careful and quick, everything arrived at our new place in perfect condition. They were extra careful at my new place and also old location. It was amazing to see them remove sliding doors in order to carefully move my new couches and they arrived at my new location in perfect condition.
I won’t even look for other movers again. They really could not be any better. But hopefully I don’t move anytime soon, but I highly recommend them.

Im of the strong opinion that the above reviews were written by the one and only owner and operator of this company Greg Acosta.
Mr Acosta, first appeared professional and a good company, but this was so far from the truth.
To explain as briefly as possible, i was moving from LA to NYC. I had 4 companies come and view my items for a quote– after much thought i decided to go with best choice delivery. WRONG CHOICE.
I wanted my items delivered by 2^nd july 2011. So i asked greg when he would like to pick up the items to ensure that would happen. I gave him all the time in the world to get organized and delivery my things.
He said he would pick them up on 23^rd june and be delivered on time within a three day window. I thought no problem.
He picked up my things, he seemed to pick up my things fine. As he left he handed me his business card and said if i ever wanted an update to call.
A week went by with no news and it was only 3 more days to delivery, so i called him. He let it slip that it hadn’t even left LA yet. I was initially understanding– but when you are on the phone with Greg, he is the type of fellow who will not let your speak and bombard you with excuses, that everything is ok and ill get my things.
So i wrote him an email explaining that i was concerned about my delivery and that i would expect compensation if it was late. this upset up. he found my email rude and never has he been spoken to that way. I would HAPPILY supply anyone that emailI however did not know the true situation.
I will jump ahead as i could explain the finer details but this will be way too long.
The delivery date came and went– and i started having problems reaching greg. He would not answer his phone or emails. He avoid me– and i did not know where my things were. Then the couple of times we got through to him, he gave me some excuses why it was late– and it was coming– but no lock in dates. nothing. THEN he went awol. 2 out of his 3 phones were disconnected. He has 3 address that he attaches to his business. We had to work out one of those is a storage company and called the storage company in LA to see if my things were hiding there.
ALL the time i left messages, very kind, then desperate, then begging. one i left while in tears. Again such a heartless person as he still never called back. I called police, got the better business bureau involved and the FMCSA. i also had to get a law clerk involved. Greg was not responding and i had NO idea where my things were and it was now 3 weeks late.
it was only once i made these inquires into his address and that storage company, that i got am email from a new unknown person called daniel, with a gmail account, saying he has my things and they will leave LA soon. All they while they claimed it left LA and had to return because of truck problems. i highly doubt thats true. Anyway– daniel would not tell me where my things were, his full name, his company, nor his contact number. SO Dodgy!
i again was fed a whole lot of lies and false promises on dates. i knew it was sitting in LA some where and by this point it was 40 days late and i needed some medication from one of the boxes. they would not allow me access, even though i begged.
finally it was delivered 50 days late.
there is NO exaggeration in this. yes its my side of the story, but i received no compensation. Not all my things showed up too. my book shelf was SMASHED! Greg acosta i believed has lost his interstate licence. but can still do local deliveries. He also starts to get a bad reputation then opens up shop under a new business name.
I would not recommend this company or this guy to move your things. He is a crook. Very rude and very unprofessional. I do not wish him well. And a respectful business owner can admit a mistake, and i can certainly understand a delay. But greg and his business did not communicate with me. instead they disappeared. didn’t answer my calls or emails, and left me in the dark, believing my items were stolen.

I really feel like I need to spread the word about Best Choice Delivery b/​c I cannot imagine a more pleasant/​smooth move. Yep, I said it, an easy MOVE. Here goes… I was lucky enough to cross paths with these guys when they were moving my neighbor. It was my lucky day b/​c I was moving the very next weekend and was already feeling weary about those other «hungry» movers I’d booked ;-) I decided to go with these guys b/​c they were working HARD when I saw them. So after a brief chat and quick look at my half packed apartment, Gary offered me a very fair flat-​rate (NO hidden fees — that’s how other movers will getcha, i.e., furniture wrapping, wardrobe boxes, double drive time, oh my).
On moving day, Oscar and Gary came prepared. This was a professional job — proper equipment, pads to wrap my couch, chairs, etc, at no extra charge. Sure, I was only moving 5 miles, but Ikea furniture doesn’t usually move well… and yet, not a single bruise in this move despite some narrow hallways and steep stairwells. They were even smart about how they staged/​organized everything so it was easier to unpack. I think we came in at about 3 hours to load, drive, unload, etc. SO WORTH IT. Happy customer :-)
