The phone service is atrocious. On hold forever to get told I can see a doctor sometime never. They say my call is important– so important I’m on hold for 25 minutes! They never have an available appointment anytime soon. Its a good thing I don’t have a real ailment or I would die before I see a doctor.

Awful service… my mother went twice already and they didn’t want to help her. The first time a lady said she had to bring some documents to apply and gave her an appointment. Today was her appointment and a very rude lady told her the papers she brought were garbage and she had to come back again with more stuff. the lady was so racist and rude. My mom has work permit, so she’s legal in this country. Such descrimination just because she’s not a citizen or resident. 0 starts review.

I’ve been going there for 9 years and the service and clinic system is so great now. I was always happy to have most of my doctors at one center with easy parking but now I have no reason to bring my magazines to read because they’re so timely. Even when I arrived late the other day they didn’t make me wait. The staff is pleasantly professional, the location is clean and they have all the medical results available online. Dr. Peeks, the head of the clinic, is great. The other doctors I’ve met are too. I also love that they have an insurance office on site. I have so many friends who also consider VCH their medical home. Sometimes I bump into them while I’m there :)

Women’s health clinic poor customer service! Make appointments for clients when you show up they say they shouldn’t have given you that appointment. Not even very nice about their own mistakes. Make you feel like it’s your fault they fucked up.

Within 5 minutes of my appointment, Dr Chapa said he doesn’t want to be my doctor! I practically had to beg to have blood tests down for me! This whole institution has no idea what they are doing.

Okay, first of all– it’s a clinic. Expect the people to be overworked, and expect delays. It’s not that they don’t care, it’s just that they are overwhelmed. They also have to deal with patients who expect the same level of service you’d get at a Beverly Hills private practice. Hey, guys; like I said: It’s a clinic. I’ve seen too many selfish, rude and demanding people giving the staff a hard time. Lighten up. You’re probably here because you can’t afford to be somewhere else so just be grateful you have this place to go to. I’m convinced that they are doing the best that can be done given the number of people they have to see, and usually they do a very good job.
Don’t worry about being seen by a nurse practitioner– the doctors are being run ragged and NPs are probably better at dealing with people anyway. They are very well trained and you can usually trust them more than the average doctor in any location, clinic or otherwise.

Every time I call to make an appointment I’m on hold for like 30 minutes. They used to take walk ins but now they tell me that they don’t anymore which is really annoying since getting an appointment takes months. The only part of this clinic that I think is good is the optometry department because there glasses are super cheap. The rest of the clinic needs a lot of work

I had a bad experience with a nurse practitioner here. She basically made me cry after my last visit there. Also the Optometry service is very poor. I had a fiber on my glasses and told them to fix it. They sent it back to the lab and the lab just shaved it off with visible shave marks left on my glasses. I didn’t want to ask them to fix it again, so I decided to just let it be and go to a different place in the future. The only person I really liked here was the nutritionist. But, my experience with the NP was enough to make me leave this clinic and never come back.

We called last week to see about getting help with medication until we get insurance in January, and they told us we could come in on Saturday from 8 – 12 and sign up for membership.
My husband took the day off work and I woke up early so we could go today (a Saturday). When we arrived we were notified that they don’t do this on Saturdays, only Mon-​Fri 8 – 2. We verified with them twice that we could come in on Saturdays. No wonder this place got awful reviews.

I went in for physical to get a refill of a maintenance drug I take for high cholesterol. It was crowded and took a while to get seen, but they saw me about 10 minutes after my appointment slot (I got there 45 minutes early as requested) so I wasn’t too put off by that. I didn’t get to see an actual MD, I saw a Nurse Practitioner. Fine, whatever, I just really needed my refill. She was nice and thorough. The two stars instead of one are actually because of her and the people who took my blood (they were also very nice and efficient.) I spoke to the nurse about where to send my prescription he said that was fine. Before I left I asked at the front desk how long it would take for my prescription to go to the pharmacy. They told me an hour and a half. Great, I had some errands to run. I got to the pharmacy about 4 hours later. THEY HAD NOT YET RECEIVED THE PRESCRIPTION. I call the clinic and the operator puts me through to the «Prescriber» and it goes straight to voicemail. I leave a message and am annoyed that I trekked to the pharmacy for nothing. I wait until about 4:30 and call again in hopes of reaching the «Prescriber» before she left work for the day. Again, voicemail and another message left. I called the clinic again and asked the operator if there was anyone else I could speak to — the answer was NO. Ugh. The next day I call my pharmacy before noon to see if the prescription arrived — NOPE. I call the clinic and once again I am speaking to the «Prescriber“s answering machine. I call back to talk to the operator who says, well the «Prescriber» was out a day this week and is just now getting to her voicemails. Well, thank God, my prescription isn’t for anything life threatening if I miss a day. But, this is ridiculous, seriously you need to get this «Prescriber» lady more help because she clearly is not able to handle all the prescriptions going out. I’M STILL WAITING ON MY PRESCRIPTION!!!

They wont answer the phone. Period. Seriously, a medical clinic that won’t answer the phone.
I’ve complained but they don’t care at all.
I like my doctor, but hate their unprofessional attitude in administration. Seriously, do they have ANY management?
Nothing quite like leaving work early because I have to drive back because the pharmacy cant get a live person on a Friday to answer the phone. If this were a normal drs office theyd be out of business.

This place is really unprofessional. I don’t know why many of you say it is. 2 times the doctor said she’ll send the prescriptions ove to the pharmacy but didn’t so I had to go to my pharmacy call them back and nobody picked up the phone. The recorded operator kept on saying «well answer ur call in the order it was received» but no one picked up the phone for 2 hours I was on hold. So I had to go back to the clinic n actually talk to somebody to get the dr send over the prescription again.

Scammers. The employee named Carla at the Valley Community Clinic Optometry Dept. tried to sell me new frames by saying they had no screw to replace on the missing one on the frames I brought in… I went to another optometrist, (Les Miller at Optomeyes in Santa Monica), and he put in another screw right away. So very nice. Then the Valley Community Clinic Optometry Dept. employee said that for me to get bifocals I would need to pay for a new exam. This was not true. I already had a prescription.
They said that it would take 2 – 3 weeks for the refund– It took over 3 weeks. When I received the refund, they had taken $ 15 from the total. This is illegal. When contacted by the Better Business Bureau, they made no attempt to return the $ 15 overcharge.
They say that their services are based on the ability to pay if the person has proof. Their price was $ 40 higher than the new optometrist in West Hollywood. The Valley Community Clinic Optometry Dept. employees have seen proof of customers’ income and they have so-​called «qualified» them… So their cheating is deliberate. BEWARE of Valley Community Clinic Optometry Dept.‘s Clinic. The employees at this clinic are committing fraud every day of the week. Not to be trusted. Rating 0

I’ve been here with our two kids (2 and 7) several times over the last year and I’ve been very pleased with the service and professionalism this pediatric clinic provides.
If you live in the area and you need to find a doctor that accepts Medi-​Cal (or many other insurance and programs), this place has you covered.
Our children have seen two doctors here, who were both wonderful: Dr. Chawn Watkins and Dr. Christina K. Jones. They were terrific with the boys, pleasant, professional, helpful and communicative. The nurses and/​or physicians’ assistants were nice and seemed to enjoy their work. The front desk clerks are nice enough (sometimes it’s hit or miss), but a little less proactive and enthusiastic about helping or answering questions. We just had a good experience with Monica at the front desk and Gabby, the nurse who administered a shot for our 2-​year-​old and made him feel as comfortable and happy as possible.
I highly suggest that you call to make an appointment, even if your situation is more urgent care related. When I called because our son was complaining of an ear ache a couple months ago, they had us come by an hour or so later (when they were less busy) and he was seen within 15 minutes of our arrival. If you don’t plan ahead, I can see how you might have to wait a while.
The pediatric clinic gets busy before and after school hours, so if you have a younger child, I recommend coming between 8 AM and 2 PM.
They also do TB tests here, which are quick, inexpensive and don’t require an appointment. For $ 10, you can show up anytime before 2 PM, get the test, come back in a few days and pick up the results. This also applies to adults in the general medical clinic.
I’ve been told by one desk clerk that Fridays are their least busiest days, but I haven’t had to wait very long when I come in the morning.

I gree with the two previous Unilocalers. I love VCC I’ve been going here for years for my OBGYN needs. The place is clean and the nurses are professional and knowledgeable. However the girls at the front desk, at the women’s clinic, would rather engage in personal conversations rather than help patients or answer the phones and this of course makes your wait time longer. They need to go back to UEI or whatever Medical Assisting school they went to and take a course in professionalism. But hey it’s a free clinic so what can you expect?

I love this place. It almost feels like they saved my life! That is how strongly I feel about this place. I really appreciate the doctor I had here.
Unfortunately, he has since moved on. My doctor here was Dr. Ericson, and he was super knowledgeable, and also had the ability to make me feel really calm. I have had doctors at other places including well known hospitals when I had insurance, and he ranks really high.
You don’t always have doctors that can combine knowledge with a nice bedside manner. The clinic is really clean and modern. I feel like the people in charge, in higher up positions really make an effort to make this place feel good. They really care about the clinic.
The hardest thing about this clinic is getting in as a patient. They don’t always have openings, and it took a while. I finally got in under unexpected circumstances.
It is best to make an appointment ahead of time. However, when I was really sick, and not well, they saw me, providing there was space.
I feel really fortunate to be apart of this community. Most everyone is helpful, and willing to work with you based on income.

They are not the best in the valley that is for sure. But eh, if u have medical then its an ok place to go. The Medical assitants say u may have to wait 2 to 3 hrs and they sit around and gossip, they take forever to see you and answer ur calls. they must be really busy. I do like my Dr though. Dr. Jannetta is very helpful and takes her time to help you.
Dr. Marie Ellen (Womens Health) was not very helpful. I have a cyst in my ovaries and told her about my concerns. she seem very unterested about my concerns. I asked for a refereal and she suggested to have the pap completed until she decides what is best.
I even brought proof that the cyst is there and she seems to think I was lying or that the cyst were not big enough to be concerned about and that she didnt feel anything. I do however feel pain. I was very disappointed in her service
I just really wish they would not take so long to schedule appts they ask you to get there early, but they still dont see you on time and the medical assistant need to be more on top about that.
