After checking every furniture store in the area(and there are quite a few) I drove by and noticed we have a Mattress Matters in the area. I was actually on my way to another furniture store right next to MM. I was greeted nicely by Beverly, told her my experiences with the other stores(no good) and told her what I wanted. Queen size, not too firm, probably a pillow top, maybe a memory foam, not too expensive, get it asap and haul away my old one. It still seems like a miracle to me that there are still human beings out selling you stuff without pushing you into something too expensive. It turned out the very first mattress I tried was the perfect one for me. Nice pillow top, very comfortable and a very affordable price. It was Saturday and when I asked when I could have that one delivered, and she said Monday, that was another nice surprise. Delivery fee and haul away(free) is by far the lowest in the area, and the delivery guys called as promised early on Monday and gave me a time window, called me again while on the way to my house, and showed up 10 minutes later. They were the nicest 2 young man I had deliver something to my house in a very long time. They asked if they have to take their shoes off, who does that these days? Overall this is the store to buy your mattress, and next time I drive by I will stop in person and tell Beverly how happy I am with the entire deal.

We had to get my kids some mattresses for the bunk beds we purchased. As my kids were jumping all over their showroom the saleswoman did not bat an eye, and also did not try to up sell us to wildly expensive models that we were not interested in. She was great! She spoke to my children like they were people too, which is something I greatly appreciate.(Note: I hate when strangers call my kid sport, sweetie, buddy, ect.) This was one of the easiest purchases I have made in a long time. Also we had purchased a queen size mattress here five years ago and we were telling her how it was kind of sinking. She informed us that it had come with a 10 year warranty and we could probably get in replaced. How’s that for excellent customer service?

Shopping for a mattress is weird. You go into a giant room filled with beds, and you start lying down. There’s no position that feels more weird and vulnerable than lying down. The last time we bought a mattress, it was at a big department store’s furniture department. 12 years later, it’s mattress hunting time again. Our first stop was the big department store, where we were met with absolutely no help whatsoever. We wandered around, lying down on a succession of beds, feeling increasingly silly, and after a while we just left. After window shopping at several places, we finally ended up at Mattress Matters. There we were greeted warmly at the door and made to feel quite comfortable. Our saleswoman was friendly and knowledgeable, and after we explained what we wanted she immediately took us to a bed that fit our description. After that, she took us to the bed that was what we really wanted. This is what sales expertise is all about. We were so shocked by how comfortable the bed was that we could hardly believe it. She encouraged us to take our time, get comfortable, and lie on it in the positions we actually sleep in. She made us feel so at ease that we were able to relax and really be certain. And then we went back and tried the other bed again, which only confirmed how right she was. The whole process was made easy by the expertise and friendliness of the staff, and we await the delivery of our new mattress!
