We needed a new sliding glass door installed two weeks ago in February, Kevin came out, measured on a Monday, and Jerry installed it the following Monday. The door looks great, and thanks for the excellent service.

We have done business with Kevin McCann three times and he has done absolutely wonderful work for us. We have had new windows installed in the house, some siding repair and yesterday, we had new windows installed in our basement, and a new storm window on an existing leaded glass window. We had to have the windows custom made for our house and they turned out beautifully. The timeline was very good from the ordering to the installation. Our installer was efficient, clean and knowledgeable. Kevin looked in on the job during the day to check on the progress.
I would recommend McCann Windows to anyone. They know how to get the work done on time and properly. Thank you again Kevin for the fine products and the integrity of a fine company.

We had new windows installed Tuesday (13 in all) and could literally not be happier with both our new windows and the service we received from start to finish. Kevin came out to the house to give us the estimate, and our windows were delivered two weeks ahead of schedule. Jerry and the team came out to install and were professional and kind, and did an exceptional job with the installation. Jerry’s crew worked so quickly, they had the job done by 4 in the afternoon and completely cleaned up afterwards.
New windows make the house look and feel brand new, and my only wish is that we had done it sooner. The work by McCann Windows exceeded what we could have asked for from the estimate process to the finished product.
Five starts all the way through — couldn’t be happier.

McCann Window & Exteriors rocks! We just moved into a new condo on the North side of Chicago and Kevin came out to take a look at the windows. The windows turned out to be in far better shape than they looked. Kevin explained what he saw, reassured us that we were protected from the elements and made recommendations for what our next steps could be. Kevin has followed up diligently since our last meeting and we are planning on replacing the windows in the Spring. He keeps us abreast of any discounts or promotions that he has going so we can get the best, most competitive price he has to offer. Lucky for him, we won’t be shopping any longer, McCann Window is our supplier!

We had a really good experience with them a few years ago when they installed many new windows for us, but last summer we got a wooden storm/​screen door from them and they were rude and condescending during installation. In addition, the screen insert for the door was very shoddy: the screen was super loose, and coming out of its staples. They said they would cover the cost to replace it after I complained a couple of times. They have not done anything about it in almost a year. We are really disappointed; we have many more windows to do, and we won’t be using them, alas.

The condo owners in my building had not updated the windows of the building since they were first installed.
I contacted four companies for a quote, and after many deliberations and research about window options, Kevin and his team proved to have a high quality product that is competitively priced.
After the first unit had windows installed, everyone agreed that the final product matched the original style.
Additionally, the installation process for my new windows was fast and expertly done by the experienced McCann team. It only took one morning to get done.

We just re-​replaced the 11 McGann windows with Gllkey windows. We discovered during the new installation that the McGann windows had little to no insulation. Our McGann experience resulted in a waste of $ 8,000 — a truly frustrating experience all around. Meanwhile, the GIlkey windows are fantastic and beautifully installed if you are looking for great quality windows and installation.

We just ordered new windows from McCann Windows. For us where to order windows was a no brainer. We used McCann to replace most of the windows for our last house. Kevin McCann is a very friendly person and more important, extremely knowledgeable salesman. His installers are very professional and friendly as well. We have referred McCann Windows to many of our friends, and all of them are as satisfied as we are. You can’t find better service!!!

Worst experience! Rude! I definitely do NOT recommend this company. My husband made the appointment with Kevin (who by the way showed up 15min late).
Upon arrival to my home we sat down at my dining room table where Kevin proceeded to interrogate me on what part of the process this is for me in my new window search. After telling him that my husband is performing a lot of the research, he then told me that he is wasting HIS time and would not give me a quote on new windows nor would he tell me about any of his products he had to offer.
I told him that my husband and I would consult with each other on the consultation and his response was that he did not want to ARGUE with me. There was no arguing going on. The meeting lasted no longer than 15 minutes. There was no time to even start arguing.
He ended the conversation with, ‘I would like to do business with you, if you make another appointment to talk with your husband…‘
I couldn’t wait for Kevin McCann to leave my home and never come back. If any of my friends or family ask about window companies I will be telling them about my bad experience.
I recommend to others to read the other Unilocal reviews (especially the not recommended reviews) to really know how this company operates and communicates with others. Terrible customer service. That is not how you do business.

We bought a house in December 2013 and found two windows obviously needed replacement (condensation, cracks, drafty.) Kevin had replaced some basement windows in my previous house, so I called him again. I wanted these replaced, but I wanted to match some of other new windows in the house, and I had no idea what brand or vendor they were from. He knew exactly the make and model, and within a few weeks they were replaced. Installers did a great job, I expected to come home to a little dirt or dust, or at lest some paint chips, but no mess at all.

McCann Windows just replaced 13 windows for us. The entire team did a great job, from showing us possible window types, to ordering, to installation. Any questions I had were answered promptly and in a friendly manner. I highly recommend this company.

Dave and his team painted the full exterior of our house. From the day he showed up to start a quote for us until the last day Dave and his team were professional polite and really easy to work with. We could not be happier with the outcome they did a great job and really went above and beyond to make it perfect. The pricing was very reasonable as well. Would definitely recommend!

My wife and I are in the process of completing a fairly large remodel of our home. We hired McCann to replace all of the windows in the house, including the removal and replacement of the interior trim. The trim details were very important to us as we wanted to match the vintage detail of our home but with new materials. Getting new trim to match an 80+ year old home can be a real challenge, so we were concerned with the details.
The McCann team delivered as promised! The windows were ordered and arrived to start the job on schedule, the installation crew knew what they were doing and did a great job inside and out. The trim carpentry turned out better than we ever expected and we’re very happy. The windows look awesome and the house looks fresh and new while maintaining the vintage detail that we desired. Great job!

Back in 2010, I wrote a (5-​star) review after a window install and 3-​years later, these windows still look as good as they did on their installation day. Excellent installation of an excellent product.
It is a competitive world out there and things change… when we needed to have upper floor exterior replaced in our bedroom (think BIG window), we bid out the job. And again, we went with McCann.
Product: Very happy with the originally purchased triple-​pane Pella windows with built-​in shades, We wanted the same in dual opening French Doors. This appeared, AND TURNED OUT TO BE, a fantastic, solid product. It looks like we hoped it would. The expertise offered during the selection phase made wading through the numerous options as easy as it could possibly be.
Labor: Everyone has been easy to work with, no high pressure sales pitches or scare tactics. Throughout the process, everyone (product selection, estimate, installation) showed up on time. The room was cleared as much as could be (big water bed in the room). I watched while the install took place (looking for tips/​techniques) and am ecstatic with the quality of work done (e.g. some wood rot was found, dealt with). As problems arose, they were dealt with professionally and very much to my satisfaction.

Just had three windows replaced. Work was terrific, quick and clean. The installers were professional and courteaous. Price was fair. Would definitely use again.

I requested a consultation with McCann Windows and Exteriors for a residential replacement window project after finding info about McCann on-​line. Kevin McCann was professional, straightforward and knowledgeable. His style of doing business made me feel like I could trust him and that he had nothing to hide. I learned a lot from talking with Kevin McCann and would recommend seeking him out for a consultation on your window project.

I contacted McCann this fall because I wanted a local business. I had three quotes and picked McCann. We have an old two story Evanston home that had beautiful but old and leaky original windows on the house. We were covered with old thick vines (and some birds) they had to deal with too.
We picked the fancy Pella windows for the first floor and a notch cheaper for the second floor to save a bit of money.
The installers arrived early and, like a military team, worked at a 100 miles an hour right out of the gate. They replaced all 28 windows and a door on the first day of what was to be a 3 day project. The weather was a bit rainy and muddy so it was not the best conditions. They came the morning of the second day to put on some shutters and do a little extra clean up — the place was spotless inside and out. I was very impressed. No third day needed.
They covered the inside of the windows while working so there was no mess inside. My garden is against the house and the installers where very respectful of the plants and items on the deck.
The windows look great and we are very happy with the service received. They did what seems to be a very clean and tight job — our house was drafty inside and we can tell the house is sealed up tight to wind and it’s even much quieter inside too.

I contracted with McCann for to exteriors doors, at the end of September 2011. The installation was stated as 6 – 8 weeks. That would mean end of November.
During that time I was moved from my customer service rep, to a man called Dave, who came out, measured, took the paint specifications etc. I also e-​mailed the information to Dave. The following week a painter called and asked for the paint color specs!
End of November came and went, with no call from the company. When I e-​mailed Dave he said that they’d gotten slightly behind because of the weather (the mildest November in some years, as I recall) and it would be about another two weeks. (Note to service providers — It makes for poor customer service when you tell clients that they are basically being bumped for another client.) In the following two weeks I was contacted again for paint details, and told that Dave had left the company. After another e-​mail from me asking for an installation date, I was offered the week leading up to Christmas, Apart from this being a ridiculous time for a door installation, I wasn’t even in town. The installation was rescheduled for January 4^th.
On January 3^rd the painter called to get the color information again, meaning that a Jan 4^th schedule wasn’t going to be met. At this point I e-​mailed the company with a complaint and suggested that since I was now almost double the installation time promised, a discount was in order. My original rep replied, saying that they had indeed dropped the ball and asking me what i thought was fair. «Great» I thought, «We’re getting somewhere». I suggested a 25% discount and heard nothing. Meanwhile the installation was re-​scheduled for January 11^th.
Jan 11^th — The front door didn’t fit! Apparently it would take another three weeks to make another and a few days to paint, taking me to the end of February. Given that my aim had been to winter-​proof my hallway, I canceled the front door.
After posting my remarks on Angie’s list the owner e-​mailed to ask what he could do to make it up. Given that there had been no way of contacting him throughout my experience I said Thanks but No Thanks.
