Best bike shop in northern Marin, they really know their products and can put you in a bike that suits your needs; and they have BEER! Nothing better than having a good long ride then being able to go to a bike shop and pick something up that broke or you have been needing to pick up and you can sit down either outside or inside and have a few cold ones! The owners are very friendly and so is the staff I highly recommend Brüstop if your looking for a new bike or picking up a new hobby they have everything you could possibly need.

Beer is great, but the service has been really remarkable. I had a problem with flat tires from a new road bike I bought at Brustop and the service personnel corrected the problem easily by re-​taping the cushion strip between rim and tube. Nice! Worked great. Thanks you guys, and cheers! The giant road bike is also the best buy for the money, especially those under $ 2000.

Friendly knowledgable staff that is quick to take care of you. They are not salesman. They are a staff that makes sure you get what you need. It’s great. Same day service on a new chain and they even helped with me derailer issue. The beer is cold and I’ll be a regular now.

Solid local bike shop with a friendly staff, apparel collection, and a cool temperature to enjoy a beer in after a hot summer ride. I can see their concept growing into many locations because of the experience they offer. You will spend more time enjoying yourself in this bike shop than any other!

Bicycle Brustop has not only become a wonderful fixture in Novato and the local cycling scene, they have set the standard for what being a small business owner should be in this town. The owners are local and are incredible people, kind and really fun. The staff is top notch, extremely knowledgeable about all things bike and totally unpretentious.
The shop always has a great range of bikes, including an electric bike that looks way fun. They carry kids bikes and cruisers and all the gear you need to perform and look good and maintain your bike and self. I think they just got new shirts in that say support your local bike shop, which is totally important. Oh and they also serve beer and snacks in the back, that is a super cool touch.
They offer group rides both road and mountain and have specific rides geared to female riders. They offer classes about bicycle maintenance and exercises you can do to prevent and alleviate cycling injuries. They sponsor local riders and donate to the schools and were also very instrumental in the Stafford Lake Bike Park project (holla)!
I am the first to admit I do not know a ton about bicycling, but I enjoy it and want to foster a love of cycling in my kids. We got new bikes for our kids here as a surprise and they very kindly held them for us so we were able to reveal the bikes to the kids in the shop. I really feel like they are an extension of our family community. When we are downtown we always stop in because they always have something new to see and something going on, you should too.

While I have not purchased a bike from this shop, I do think they sell a great product. Giant bikes are the real deal. I am from Novato and really appreciate their service department. They turn things around very quickly for the most part. The one exception is when they sent my seat dropper out to a company that rebuilds seat droppers, forks and other shocks. This outside repair shop did not give accurate service time estimates or even have a good record of where the part was in their schedule. Bicycle Brustop did become very involved in getting response/​action from the company. In the end, they got the repair shop to send a new seat dropper and only charged me the install. I was very appreciative that they did everything they could to make it right.

WooHoo as good as it gets. And Beer! my new favorite since returning to Marin. I have dropped my bike of for some service twice, both time came back flawless. And the famous Slomobro works there. My LBS go to.

Who doesn’t hate getting a flat tire after starting out on a great ride? How about having your headset come apart just after buying new handlebars, stem, headset riser and headset overhaul? Wanted to update my aging mountain bike with some new parts and went to Bicycle Brustop to get the parts and the work done. My wife loves the shop and I’ve had a great cold beer while waiting. Very nice. Liked the casual atmosphere so had them work on my bike before a weekend bike riding at Henry Coe State Park (a bit of a haul).
Bike was ready on time and everything looked great with the $ 200 in parts and labor! Made the two hour drive south and soon hit the fire roads from the park headquarters. It was only a short time before I heard a rattling sound. The noise only got worse along with the feeling of looseness in the handlebars. The problem was the headset which was loose enough to see the ball bearings. Rather than risk more problems parked the bike for the rest of the weekend. Very disappointed.
Drove back to Bicycle Brustop to get the bike fixed and figure out the problem. It seems the steerer extender risers weren’t installed correctly. Once properly installed everything was tight and right.
That the workmanship in the shop was lacking and ruined my weekend of riding is one complaint. Aaron the owner when explaining the repair said there was no way the bike left the shop with a loose headset. I got the feeling he was accusing me of causing the problem. Complaint number 2. Very uncomfortable in dealing with someone (especially the owner) who is offensive and who refuses to accept that a mistake was made. Dan was the technician who initially did the work. It was bad enough to have the bike riding weekend ruined but to hear the owner deny any blame was incredible and reason for two stars.
I’d go back for a beer but not to have them work on my bike.

By far the best bike shop in Marin. Honest, friendly and happy to help. I have had many of my bikes serviced in this shop and was always happy with the outcome, therefore I purchased my latest bike from them and couldn’t be happier. Keeping it local can be hard with all the internet shops but the service and reliable mechanics at Brüstop make up for that. Ohh, did I mention you can enjoy a cold beer while you wait? I find myself in the shop without a bike in hand more often than not anymore… great atmosphere and cold brews keep me a regular.

I really wanted to love this place, but they ruined my breaks and charged me $ 100 for it. I went in to get my bad break pads replaced. I explained I was a local and looking for a good bike shop. They said great, 15 – 20 minutes and $ 50. Fine. Over an hour later, they explained my fluids started leaking out of my breaks and they needed to do extra work. What? Anyway, an hour later, they charge me for hydraulic fluid replacement/​job and the pads of course. It was just over $ 100…and if my breaks worked, I would be way less irritated. But alas, they don’t. I’m super sad. The owners were really nice, but to charge me for that crap job was a drag. And if they were smart business people they would have at least offered me something for the extra charge and wait. I did explain I was a local looking for a good bike shop. Little did I know at the time that my bike would never be the same. Super sad, but beware if you need work done to your bike here… they seemed out of their comfort zone with hydraulic breaks.

They really have personable service and are focused on the customer experience here.
I have never bought a bicycle from them, but visit frequently for small parts and high-​end bicycle service. I have been here for two Enve composites wheel rebuilds, Mountain and road, and they have done an amazing job building them up with factory spec tension and spot on trueness. I have also been here for Road/​cyclocross, hydraulic disc installation and I have done a bang up job.
I have raced road, Mountain, and cyclocross at the elite level for over 10 years and have worked on my own bike for many of those years. I have gotten service and been a customer at many of the bike shops around the bay area. I strongly believe that the true test of quality workmanship is in a custom wheel build. Their attention to detail is some of the best in Marin. No pretense, down-​to-​earth staff and owners. I would highly recommend if you’re anywhere near the area or looking for a great bike shop to frequent in Marin.

They hosted an aid station on a big ride I did recently in Marin and they were super nice people. They’re somehow even cooler when you go to the shop.
Tech service menu is on point. Clean and precise.
Shop was clean and everyone was eager to help. They could use a little more merchandising help to clean up the displays visually, but that’s just me being a retail expert nit-​picking.

Excellent local bike shop. Very knowledgeable and helpful. They also serve beer, which is a bonus! The owners were very nice. Good mechanic staff. I was happy with the service I received on my mountain bike. Nice place to hang out too. Bike parking and tables out front. They have a loyal local following.

This shop is just Excellent. The owners/​team are very kind people, and they know cycling world very well. They are very knowledgeable with their products, and with any topic about cycling in general.
I have been with them on one ride so far, and i must say it was beautifully organized and done. The route was very well picked for the training, and the spirit was just wonderful.
I got a tune up on my bike from their Mechanic, and it was very fast and my bike feels brand new again. Plus he walked me through tips and tricks to make my bike run smooth all the time.
I lived in many areas around the world, and i have been to many cycling shops, and i must say Bicycle Brustop will put a smile on your face, whether you are going on a ride with their amazing team, getting a new Jersey, or getting a cold beer! (YES THEY HAVE BEER).
It cannot get any better than this.

The concept: Bike shop with beer. What more do you want?
Why it matters: I am pretty sure that Bicycle Brustop is the hippest business in Downtown Novato. OK, I know that’s not very hard, but it’s the toes of the foot that needs to kick downtown in the butt and make it more useful and appealing to people under 300 years old. Maybe someday we can replace 20 of the 200 salons on Grant with a couple decent restaurants or a nice cocktail bar or two. I know this is just as likely as finding a unicorn that farts whiskey, but a man can dream. Either way, we need the Brustop and more stuff like it.
The execution: Freaking dialed. Let’s start with the bike shop component. There is none of the snotty bike-​hipster LBS attitude that we have all become accustomed to. Caroline and Arron (the owners, hopefully these are actually their names) are like, friendly and stuff. I know, it’s NUTS! I just kept thinking, «am I even in a bike shop? How come I am being helped instead of being simultaneously ignored and judged?» The selection of bikes and parts are decent, and they are mountain bikers, so us dirt junkies have friends here, too! Prices are downright reasonable.
But, what about the beer?: Don’t like the prices, have a beer! Had a long ride and got 20 pinch flats? Have a beer! Broke your clavicle? Have a beer! (then go to the hospital.) Can’t decide which tires to get? Have a beer! The friendly folks that staff the Brustop are also super friendly behind the «bar» in the back of the shop. If I recall correctly, they have four beers on tap from local faves like Moylan’s and Anchor. There’s other beer too, but I had like four of them after a 30 mile ride, so I don’t really remember every single thing.
If you have (understandably) given up on Downtown Novato, get back on out there and give the Brustop a try, even if you don’t ride.

Knowledgable, Friendly and Honest. Three words to describe the Brustop. My wife had her bike tuned 2 months ago, great value, and an excellent tune-​up. She bumped her bike last weekend and the shifting got messed up. Brought the bike back to the Brustop, they quickly found the problem, fixed it and sent us on our way. I tried to pay and they said «on the house.» It doesn’t get any better.

Brought my visiting friend from Sweden there who’s a hard-​core road bicyclist. He was looking to buy a bike to bring with him to Hawaii. Aaron who took care of us was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. My friend really liked a bike that also was reduced 35%, but decided not to buy it as it didn’t have the crank ratio he wanted. This is a very nice little bike shop with great service.

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff who will take the time to find out your needs rather than trying to sell you something just for the sake of selling it. Service department is great also — I’ve thrown some pretty tough/​custom problems at them (for example converting a TT bike to Di2 — TT bikes are finicky to begin with much less when you try to install parts that the bike wasn’t designed for!), and they worked hard to find a solution that would work! The shop also puts a heavy emphasis on women’s cycling, which is great to see! Additionally, the shop is involved in the community — supporting various local events, hosting group rides and skills clinics, etc. And they serve beer!

Did you know that Brustop has a small bar in the back of their shop where you can grab a pint of any of the 4 local beers on tap? What a great idea!
After a happy hour at Finnegan’s and dinner at Mi Pueblo, a friend and I came across Bicycle Brustop well after their closing hours (9pm).
Some of the employees were still in the shop hanging out after work, and they opened their doors to us to show us around. Very cool!
If you’re into bikes and riding, you should swing by and have a look around. It’s probably a good idea to come in and have a look around, so you know what’s on tap.

I love Bicycle Brustop! The owners and employees are very knowledgeable of their products and they care about our community. Any time I go in there I am greeted with a smile and a friendly ‘hello!’ which is important to me. The prices are reasonable and the service can’t be beat! Ride, Novato… Right on over to Bicycle Brustop!

Needed a small adjustment on my bike, came in coz saw this was a new place, owners are friendly great selection, after 5−10mins the bike was done, was charged over $ 15 for a small .25 cent part… I could have bought the part and installed it myself… other LBS would have done this for free to gain the customers business. anyway paid my $$$, it is what it is, but definitely not coming back to buy anything… I wish you the best!

I recently decided to stop in this new bike shop when I was down on Grant Ave the other day and I needed some tune-​up supplies for my road bike. I was very impressed! The staff was great… very friendly and knowledgable. They took the time to chat with me about life, bikes, products… just genuine people. I bought a few prods for lubricating my bike which were cheaper than usual. I checked out a ride bike for my lady and I couldn’t believe how good the prices were for Giant bikes there whichis awesome, definitely going to get one from there. Store was really nice too, clean.
Also the owner said they are going to be getting local microbrew beer soon so you can grab a beer when you’re there. Personally I think that is a great idea.
Overall I am really glad we finally have a cool bike shop in Novato… enough to the point I thought it deserved some Unilocal love. I recommend to check it out.
