History

Established in 1979.

Chic Lumber & Hardware was started in 1979 by David Hendrix. Dave realized that St. Charles County needed a hardware and home center for individual home owners. This was before the time of «Big Box Stores.» Dave was convinced that this was needed for the future growth of the county. It took two years of planning, and lots of hard work for both Dave and his wife Carol. They started the company with 10 employees and one store in St. Peters. Thirty years later, Chic Lumber has three locations with over fifty employees, and a custom millwork shop.

Dave Hendrix continues to run Chic Lumber & Hardware. He is a hands-​on company president and strives to be available for all employees and customers. Chic is a family run business, and Carol still heads the accounting department. With a friendly attitude, and family support, Chic Lumber & Hardware is a company that continuously maintains high standards of materials and services.

Dave is a hands-​on Company President. He enjoys fishing and golf, and spending time with his family. If you are a current customer, I want to thank you for your business.
