Anthony Peter Hair Salon

One word: CASEY. She is outstanding with color and gives great haircuts. She’s also the nicest person you could ever meet. The prices are very reasonable. The salon is attractive
and immaculately clean. The owner, Anthony, is also an outstanding colorist and stylist. There is parking right next to the salon. And there is no yucky hair salon vibe whatsoever. Casey is young and up-​to-​date on current styles but she is also great with older women who want something more classic.
I can’t imagine how anyone could have a disappointing experience at this salon and I
unreservedly recommend Casey.
And for those of you who need rescuing from hair color disasters, trust me she rescued me from a total «worst-​case» scenario. I didn’t leave looking like the color was «fixed» either. I left looking like I never had a problem and with my color more beautiful than I ever thought it could be.
They take credit cards but tips are cash only. No worries, however, there is an ATM right outside the shop if you get stuck.

After looking for a salon that can put color on my hair I found Anthony’s and decided to make an appointment for the same day. I walked in and was greeted and helped by Casey. She’s the best. I had a picture of the color I was interested in and on her first try she nailed it. We did a test strand and the color came out perfect so she proceeded. Let me just say she did a wonderful job. Besides her the entire staff was nice and offered me water/​tea and the head massage was a first. I recommend this place and I definitely recommend Casey. I did pay more than normal for the service, but it was worth it. This was my best experience at the Salon ever.

Went to the salon in a panic with yellow hair and left with my natural hair color. I have been trying to get back to my natural color for months and Casey was able to achieve it in one appointment! I will definitely be going back. Anthony consulted along the way and also had fresh baked cookies when I left! Casey did a wonderful job and was very professional and kind.

My first hair cut here and can not say enough good things about Cristina! She cut off 5 inches and gave it a nice style! By far the best haircut I have ever had! She took her time and was very detailed. Looking forward to my next cut with her!

Worst cut ever. Had to go to Another salon a week later to fix the mess. Basic man cut and when i got home i noticed the front was totally uneven. Wouldn’t pay $ 1 to go back.

Anthony takes the time to teach you the basics of hair. He and his wife are super and go above and beyond. That, and I love my layer haircut! Whenever I can I will come back here.

I first went to see Amber for a color & cut after reading good things about her here on Unilocal,and went back 2 – 3 more times since. The color was always fabulous — she is very, very good with color, though she usually ran late, and I was charged more and more each time I went in for the same service. My opinion of this stylist and this salon changed today, however, when I went in for my appointment — that I had just scheduled one week ago — and was told that Amber no longer works there. There was no apology or explanation from the receptionist, other than «[the owners] were supposed to call everyone,» and when I asked to speak to the managers, she simply said they are out of town. I was coming from the northwest suburbs and lost a good deal of time and money (for the babysitter), let alone the parking meters, for this appointment, and I am angry. Mistakes happen, ok, but this is totally unprofessional and has completely tarnished my opinion of this salon.
EDITED 7÷10÷13: I called back and spoke with the owners when they returned from vacation. They were very apologetic, and told me that Amber had assured them she would be calling all of her clients with appointments and letting us know she was leaving. Needless to say, she did not call me, and I am still quite irritated that she would have such little regard for her client. At any rate, the owners offered me a complimentary haircut by Anthony, the owner, so I went in again for a cut and color with Anthony. The cut is very nice. The color actually does not resemble what Amber had done despite using her notes, and despite me showing a picture of what I was looking for, but I understand that it’s not always going to end up looking like what you’ve got in mind. I should have mentioned in my first post that the owners are very nice people and that they really try to make their clients feel at home by constantly replenishing water/​tea, providing magazines, etc., and they also give out homemade cookies when you leave. I do, indeed, think that Anthony and his wife are good people and have a nice salon there… but I may try to find a colorist that can do what Amber did to my hair.
EDITED AGAIN 7÷12÷13: Now a few days have passed, and it is quite clear to me now that my hair actually looks nothing like what I went in there for. I can only conclude that the formula was mixed wrong, or that he just decided to do something other than what we discussed. I am not going to call back to get it fixed, I’ll just find somewhere else. But again — the owners are very nice people and it’s with mixed emotions that I will have to find someplace else.

I had the best experience at Anthony Peter Salon. I walked in on a Monday to make an appointment and Anthony was able to schedule me in that same day. I was ready for a new style and wanted to try out color– I had never colored my hair before so I was very nervous. Anthony and the ladies in the salon were so incredibly nice. Anthony took time to explain the hair color process and the science behind it– He really cared about getting it right and helping me understand why and how the color process worked. My cut and color turned out beautifully thanks to Elena! She was so nice and took her time. I felt so good when I left and I even got a compliment from a stranger at the bank! They said, «You are beautiful– You have such a great look!» It made my day! If you need some TLC– Anthony Peter Salon is the place to go!

Anthony Peter is the absolute best hair stylist I have EVER been to! He is so nice. He gives helpful tips on how to care for your hair from washing to styling. This was the first time I went to someone that I thought actually knew what they were doing. I told him what I didn’t like about my hair and what I wanted it to look like and he was able to form a plan of action, so to speak. He looked at my hair from all angles to really see what needed to be done. He also does a scalp massage during the wash that is amazing. My scalp was very grateful. He is flexible with the hours and willing to stay late for a client. His wife is also very nice. The salon is clean and well maintained. I haven’t tried Paul Mitchell products before, but so far I like them. Anthony Peter also trains his other stylists and helps them style their client’s hair. Best experience I have ever had at the salon and I will definitely be going back. I would give 10 stars if I could!

The BEST salon experience! If you want to feel pampered, welcomed and leave feeling and looking beautiful, Anthony Peter’s is the salon for you. The salon is beautiful and tastefully decorated with a warm, relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Anthony and his wife Linda quickly make you feel like family and are gracious hosts offering beverages and Anthony’s delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies. Anthony has been a successful hair professional for years and continues his passion for learning new techniques in cutting, styling and color through seminars and classes he attends frequently. I love hearing about what new technique or tip he has learned and how it could apply to my style or color choice of the month. My teenage daughter and son really enjoy the experience as do the friends and neighbors we have introduced. I was extremely pleased with my experience at Anthony Peter Salon — Anthony and his wife, Linda, own the salon and are super nice. I love my new hair cut and color. Also, my scalp massage was the best scalp massage I have ever received. The prices are extremely reasonable and Anthony will take time to even teach you a new trick or two about your hair.
I will definitely be back.
