Final Touch Refinishing

**BEWARE** Don’t do business with these people. They are dishonest. They refinished my tub and gave me a 5-​year warranty but when my tub started peeling a second time within a year and a half They ignored me completely. Even after a better business bureau complaint, I was treated like dirt. If I could give them zero stars, that would be being nice. I’m now stuck with a ugly peeling tub which I paid almost $ 500 for. There are some small businesses that should not be in business if they can’t provide good customer service and stick to their promises to small customers and Final Touch is one of them. Unfortunately this is definitely one of those companies! After reading the other poor reviews (and there are more bad than good), I can see that Final Touch serves larger, higher paying customers well but is lacking attention to the «little» people. Perhaps they ought to stick to the big bucks then? Let the «little» people find an honest contractor instead? I know there are plenty of honest, hard working contractors out there who would love to have customers that give good reviews. Seems like I’m not the only one who’s been lied to. I don’t like to give bad reviews but Kirk and his crew have left me no other choice here. The 5-​year warranty means nothing. If you’ve had your tub refinished by Final Touch, don’t expect it to last more than a year and don’t expect to ever see them back, because they are very unprofessional.

There seems to be a common theme with other poor reviews. I had the same experience: they don’t return phone calls, they don’t show up when they’re supposed to. But some people rated them highly — there must be a lot of inconsistency in their business.
I reached out three times to them and nobody got back to me. First time was through the website «contact us» form and when nobody contacted me, I called. The receptionist told me Kirk would call me back, but he never did after 2 days. When I called again, the receptionist was apologetic and put me in Kirk’s voicemail, but still no return call. And I think he’s the owner the owner of the company! I guess they don’t need new customers. I have 3 full bathrooms to refinish in my house with tubs, tile surrounds, sinks, countertops… in other words, lots of work. I got their name from a business who used them, and even though they were happy with the result, they mentioned problems showing up on time, coming on the wrong day, etc, like the other reviewer. I have contacted another company who returned my call right away. It’s just not that hard to be professional, yet so many people cannot manage to do it.

Short version: Don’t use them! They don’t care about their customers at all, and if you don’t spend a lot of money with them they will bump your appointment to another day at their convenience and claim it was a mistake. They are the people who make this world a lesser place.
Long Version: I can’t tell you how disappointed I am with this company. I took a vacation day so I could have my tub and sink refinished and nobody showed up the day they said they would. They apparently had me scheduled for Thursday, not Tuesday even though when I spoke to them we set up starting early on the day after Memorial Day. When I asked the scheduler what happened she said she didn’t know, but she would call me back to see if she could get someone else out that day… no call back. When I called her later she said she couldn’t do anything because her manager wasn’t in and she couldn’t get a hold of him, nor did she know if he was even working that day. Great. I told her vacation days were very important to me and she immediately told me she would give me a discount. So this must happen often. Wonderful. I told her to have her manager call me when he gets in on Wednesday. No call on Wednesday morning so I call her back in the early afternoon. She tells me she took me off the schedule for Thursday because I didn’t call her back. WHAT!!! When I start to tell her I can’t believe what is happening she instantly transfer’s me to the manager. After talking to Kirk for a few minutes, we discuss what could have happened and I ask him to put me back on the schedule for the next day, but he says he can’t do that because he has important clients to do work for the next day. I asked him who was more important than the client he messed up on twice this week, and he said his $ 150,000 client, that’s who! I guess you have to appreciate his honesty. I assume this client is why I was bumped on Tuesday to start this whole mess, but with them who knows, it could just be carelessness or ignorance. So the moral of the story is: if you aren’t spending lots of money with them don’t expect any kind of service. They could not have cared less about me, my wasted time, my wasted vacation day, anything. It’s sad that people like this exist and I can’t believe they are still in business. Like I said, people like them are reason the world is a lesser place. I’m going elsewhere and hopefully I’m treated with some respect.

Upside surprise. Really fantastic service and reliability at competitive price point. The two contractors were ON TIME, respectful, efficient and thorough. My bathtub was stripped, reglazed and looks brand new. I highly suggest this company for your refinishing needs.

I just bought a building in Logan Square. It seems that the old tenants took a liking in draino. So much that it completely ruined the finish on the tub. I thought about tearing out the tub and replacing it. This of course would be a huge project to break up the tub, replace tile, and all the other hidden tasks that would go along with it. So I researched so reviews and decided to go with these guys. I already recommended them to a few guys at work who are looking for the same project. Final Touch was informative on the phone, explained all the rates and reasons. Their guy showed up 15 minutes early and had all his tools and material on the front porch ready to go. He was very nice and informative. Above all, he did an excellent job. Really it looks like a brand new tub. Judging by the job he did I think it will last far past the warranty. I would suggest these guys to anyone and I will most likely be using them in the rest of my apartments when the time comes. Happy Bathing!!!

I called this company two times to get my bathtub refinished. Both times I was directed to voicemails (of two different people). It has been a week and I have received no return calls. Sorry, you just lost my business. Very unprofessional.

When we bought our place, the bathtub was in terrible condition. It looked like it had been refinished at least once before, it was all chipped and there were a few rust spots. After due diligence in researching places, I called Final Touch. The woman on the phone explained how everything was done and also that because I found them on Unilocal,I get a discount.
The guy that refinished it did an amazing job! It took him about 4 hours total. There were several spots that had tiles over-​caulked and he fixed those as well as some glue that was on the floor from a vinyl piece that was stuck to the floor. (The bathroom was clear a hot mess.)
All in all, we are so happy we went with Final Touch. They give you a 5 year warranty and tips on how to clean your new bathtub. I’d recommend them to anyone.

These guys did a great job on our bath tub that was a total mess. Looks like the previous owners did a bad job on refinishing the tub, probably just did it for the sale. So after two years, it started to peel like crazy. These guys refinished it in a few hours and it looks amazing. There was a small chip that we noticed the next day and they came back immediately to repair it, no issues since. I recommend their work.

Final Touch refinished my tub and tiles and did a fantastic job!!! The worker was competent, courteous and cleaned up after himself. My tub and tiles are so white and bright they’re almost blinding! Just looks amazing… such an improvement and it comes with a 5 year warranty. Very satisfied customer… many thanks!!!

I had Final Touch refinish my tub last week. It now looks brand new, fantastic and gleaming white! I wish I had done this earlier. Only time will tell to see how it holds up but I think as long as I follow the cleaning directions it will be fine. The guy who did the refinishing was very prompt and finished up about 3 hours. Final Touch was very reasonably priced and communicating with them was easy and pleasant.

I am completely satisfied with the service. When I first called to talk to someone about getting an estimate, Kirk explained the whole process to me. I didn’t even have to ask any questions because he answered them all in his explanation. I called a few other places and the prices were all pretty much the same, so I called Final Touch back to set up an appointment since I was very happy with their friendly attitude over the phone. They were able to schedule us two days later. The technician was even a little early. He did a fantastic job! I was shocked when I saw it — it looked like a brand new tub!
We just bought a house and the bathroom was disgusting. I was afraid that I was never going to get the tub clean enough for me to feel comfortable taking a shower. My husband and I decided to spend the money and just get it refinished. Best decision we made! $ 300 well spent!

The bathtub looked so good when they were done, I seriously wanted to eat off of it*.
They arrived on time, finished on time, did a fantastic job, and made me sad that we’d waited until we put the place on the market to finally get this done. Like, really sad. But isn’t that how it always works? You make everything pretty for the next person…
So, if you’re contemplating getting this done, just do it! Totally worth it.

We just got the Unilocal deal to reenamal our bathtub. It looks brand new! They said the job would take 8 hours, but it only took 4. Just so you know, you have to wait 24 hours for it to dry– but the wait was worth it. I took my first bath in 3 years!!! The work was amazing, and I highly recommend this as a cheap alternative to replacing your whole bathtub. I wish I had thought of it sooner, but I was afraid that remodeling our bathroom would cost thousands. Little did I know with just $ 300 I could have peace of mind!
