Andrew worked with me for 5 months, four offers and a few «almosts» before I finally closed on a duplex in Berkeley. He knows the East Bay market very well, has a contracting background so is great at helping you visualize upgrades and estimating the costs. He is extremely savvy at reading the tea leaves in multiple-​offer situations to help you pick the price point and other aspects of a competitive offer. He has worked with small condo/​apartment developers so is knowledgeable about rent control, zoning and condo conversions which was important for someone like me looking for both income potential and a place to live. I highly recommend him.

Our experience with Andy made buying our first home a pleasure. We were expecting a baby when the search began so our house hunting timeline was limited. Andy was highly available, responsive, easy-​going, and professional. His insights regarding inspections/​construction/​lifestyle needs were on point, and throughout the entire process we truly felt like he had our best interests in mind. He discouraged us from situations that he knew wouldn’t fit our lifestyle or budget. The associates, mortgage broker and inspectors he recommended were equally awesome to work with, so the overall experience was pleasant, exciting, and fast. Andy was a great help in expediting the process of selling our property. It was a complex project involving the offering of a lot for a variety of opportunities from remodel to new development and Andy handled it all with ease and expertise. He has a vast experience with a wide variety of property types and this knowledge came through in a great result for us.

Andy helped us purchase a condo that was recently converted from an apartment. It was also in the midst of being renovated when our offer was accepted. We then embarked on a nearly 3 month long process of working with the sellers and their contractors to modify and complete most aspects of the unit to our specifications.
During this time, Andy was punctual, organized, and professional. We encountered several unexpected changes and delays on behalf of the seller, contractor, and loan officer, but Andy helped us tackle these challenges in stride. I’d recommend Andy to my friends and family after seeing how he successfully managed this fairly complicated and demanding process from initial offer to closing.

Andy represented me as a buyer’s agent for a condo that I purchased in the East Bay. He did exactly what I needed. I currently live out-​of-​the area and had to negotiate and make the purchase remotely. This meant I had to have a lot of trust in the agent. I also needed someone who was willing to work with me at all hours, including nights and weekends. Moreover, I also had some unusual requests. For example, I wanted Andy to go to properties and show them through Facetime or Skype. He was always reliable and available for consultation. We finally closed on a nice condo in Adam’s Point that I think was a fair deal. Andy was instrumental in making that happen.

All I can say is FANTASTIC. We were trying to find a place in a ridiculously competitive market in the Bay Area, and I am convinced it would have been impossible to do without Andy’s expertise. The process could have been very difficult since we were from out of state trying to do this, but he made it as easy as if we were there the whole time. He was always willing to assess properties ahead of time for us and figure out which ones we should see. He took the time to make sure he understood EXACTLY what we were looking for and hit the nail on the head every time he found a home to show us.
He is a huge asset, not only for the real estate experience, but he was incredibly knowledgeable on construction issues. He saved us from a couple of «bad houses» that looked just fine to the non-​trained eye at first glance but would have been a money pit. He was ALWAYS available by phone/​text/​email whenever we had questions.
The transaction we entered into was highly complicated by the seller’s situation, but Andy made the entire process painless and easy. We even closed on the house much earlier than expected because of his ability to work through everything in a fast efficient manner.
I really can’t recommend Andy enough, I wouldn’t dream of using another agent in the Bay Area. I actually look forward to buying/​selling another house in the future.

We are so incredibly happy with our new home and we couldn’t have done it without Andy. He consistently went above and beyond what a typical agent might do. He always took our calls at any time of day and he made sure he was present at everything from home showings on a weeknight to our signing at the title company’s office. As first time home buyers in a tough market, we were so lucky to work with someone who was so patient with us as we tried to make sense of every strategy move and each of the myriad documents we were given. What can I say about Andy Pitarre. He is an excellent Realtor who’s knowledge and understanding of the buying process is tremendous and it was my honor to work with him over the last 10 months. I found Andy after doing some research about the most sustainable Real Estate Agencies in the Oakland area and discovered Green Key Real Estate. I enjoyed his bio and summary on the Green Key website and decided to give him a call. He was my first and last call. I didn’t take another meeting. Andy’s experience, patience and customer service was impeccable. I was blown away by how quickly he would respond to any of my requests whether they were important or mundane. I started looking at properties in October 2012 and I believe we saw over 20 different properties together and then there were the countless listings I emailed him. Each property was given ample inspection and evaluation and I never once felt like Andy didn’t have his finger on all of the potential upsides and downsides of each property. I was thoroughly impressed with his ability to allow me to mull over listings and the pros/​cons but what struck me as absolutely incredible was his willingness to stick with me despite my waffling every other month about buying. Back in March, I actually told Andy I wasn’t going to buy anything and stopped looking for 3 months. Andy would periodically check in just to say hi. He reminded me this is a process that takes time and that the right property will show itself. Finally after 9 months, it did. I closed in 30 days on a 2/1.5 bath condo in Diamond District in Oakland with an owner occupancy % of less than 50%. His lender was able to get my conventional financing with 20% down.
I would highly recommend Andy to any potential buyers in the Bay Area who are looking for a top notch Realtor that will give you the knowledge, dedication, patience and customer service you deserve.

There are few words adequate enough to describe our experience with Andy Pitarre. We ultimately purchased a flipped home, and saw Andy as an excellent source of knowledge, but equally important, a necessary advocate on our behalf. He knew the rules inside and out, understands construction, and when necessary, applied this knowledge to insure the best deal possible and prevent the flippers from ripping us off. There is excellence in service and excellence in advocacy, but these do not always come in the form of wisdom/​creativity. Andy demonstrated the combined skills to hold the flippers at bay, and close the deal on time with the minimum amount of hassle. His advocacy, service and creativity were only matched by his follow through after the deal was closed. I cannot recommend anybody anymore highly than Andy Pitarre.
