Jacky Chow, Ph.D

Jacky Chow is an excellent real estate agent! He assisted us in a trust sale this summer. The process was seamless. Jacky is a true professional in his attitude, follow through, responsiveness, knowledge of the market and in the final negotiation. This was a co-​op sale which required much more attention. As we do not live in SF Jacky handled all the paperwork, appointments, and referrals for a contractor and stager. He acted like the property was his own! He answers your phone calls and emails immediately and is always willing to step in and help out. He had a sales strategy and it worked. We received an excellent offer for our condo, but Jacky negotiated a better deal as we had a wonderful unit and it was highly desirable. My husband and I would recommend Jacky for any property and we know that you would be very pleased with his performance as a Real Estate Expert!

For the purpose of writing this review, we have read the previous reviews of Jacky and could not agree more with all the great compliments. Jacky is very trustworthy as a person, very knowledgable about SF real estate, very understanding of our needs and limits, very responsive to our questions and requests, very patient during difficult times, very respectful of our decisions, very calm in stressful situations, very sharp during negotiations, and most importantly, very wise in critical times. As a real estate agent Jacky is really second to none.
We met Jacky right at the beginning of our two year long investment property hunting journey in SF when my sister and I went to our very first open house in our neighborhood, which Jacky just happened to be the listing agent. At the time, little did we know the many difficulties and challenges we are about to encounter before we could find our dream property in SF with our limited resources. Very fortunately for us, we also did not know the very first real estate agent we ever met was also going to be the best agent we could hope for and he would help us in overcoming these difficulties and challenges and eventually getting the property of our dream.
Without going into details, the difficulties and challenges we faced included issues such as deciding which properties (single house vs duplex vs condos vs TIC) were best suited for us, finding affordable mortgages, dealing with international wire transfers, understanding the advantages of cash vs credit, and writing a winning cover letter as well as figuring out how various factors such as microclimate, liquefaction, rent control and even google bus routes can potentially affect the value of property we purchase. And even before we close escrow Jacky was already two steps ahead of us helping us renting out our property.
When we first met Jacky we were amazed that he already had a Ph. D in electrical engineering from Stanford and a successful first career in high tech before he became a real estate agent. We can now understand how he was able to accomplish all these great achievements at the conclusion of our journey.

We went through 5 formal offers and hundreds of open houses with Jacky before we finally found our home. Jacky’s loyalty and dedication to his clients’ interests (rather than his own) are what I believe makes him a great agent. He is very responsive, open minded, honest, hard working, direct, and available to accommodate our busy schedules.
When we found our home, it was all thanks to Jacky who had connected with the selling agent to communicate our interest in making an offer on the offer acceptance date. We would have had no way of knowing that the owners received a preemptive offer which they were going to accept. Jacky got on the phone with us, filled out the paper work, researched comparable homes, and submitted our bid in a matter of hours. Jacky’s consultation in the bidding war was spot-​on and lead to the successful purchase of our first home.
Even after we moved in, he continued to put us in contact with contractors, roofers, even a great cleaning lady when we asked him for his advice.

Jacky started working with us back in fall 2010. We finally bought our first house in April 2012. He was very patient with us the entire time. Whenever we emailed him, he would reply within 5 minutes, literally, even after months of break. On top of that, he gave us the nicest housewarming gift. Thank you Jacky!

Being a non-​native San Franciscan, Jacky helped us purchase our 1^st home in SF back in 2010. In addition to being knowledgeable about the local real estate market, his sincere, courteous and patient approach makes, to many people, what could be a stressful home buying process hopeful and enjoyable. Through multiple tours to various tiers of open houses with Jacky, we understood more about the competitive market, and making the final decision was easy. I’m not saying it’s an easy process, but at the time, we put offers in 3 different properties in Mission Dolores and Noe Valley areas over the span of 4 months. The result was we were able to purchase a home at a price that the previous owner purchased in 2004. Most importantly, Jacky understood what we wanted and respected every decision we made throughout the process, and to me, that’s a very rare and important characteristics one needs to have in looking for an agent!

My husband and I fully credit Jacky for becoming the single-​family-​homeowners in one of the most competitive real estate markets like San Francisco. He responded to our every single email, text and voicemail within a few minutes; it was non-​stop communication and he took each question with the most thoughtful and compassionate manner. He had his pulse on every movement of the market so that we always had the information we needed early on which saved us a lot of time. Once we found the place we liked, it was Jacky who arranged the showing, typing up all the paperwork, negotiating with seller’s agent and working out the detail with the lender. He was there for us every step of the way and we can’t thank him enough. When it comes to the most important decision of your life like buying a home, you must have the realtor who will be honest and diligent with you all the way to the end. And Jacky has been the most reliable and resourceful lifeline for us. Thank you Jacky!
