Chunky Pig is a division of Pavé Consulting, a local pastry development company bringing innovative conceptions of sweetness to The Bay Area. Owned & operated by pastry chef Gina Conedera, Chunky Pig products were born of the desire to marry 3 favorite things: Sweet, Salty & Pork. Twice Candied Niman Ranch Nitrate~Free Bacon is the bedrock of the brand & we make sure there is plenty of pig packed into every bite. Other Top-​Shelf ingredients include Peter’s Kettle Corn, Cordillera Single-​Origin Columbian Dark Chocolate & Pure Vermont Maple Syrup. Chunky Pig products contain no preservatives & are baked in small batches to ensure the freshness of these addictive snacks.

Business Owner

Born and raised in Portland, OR, she got her clog in the door of the restaurant industry at age 19, apprenticing as a pastry assistant in some of Portland’s best kitchens. In 2009, Gina headed to the Bay Area for a change of industry scenery & some sun! She currently owns and operates Pavé Consulting, a pastry development company based in Oakland & shuttling to Portland. Chunky Pig is the retail division of Pavé Consulting.

It’s a fantastic blend of bacon & caramel corn. You bite into one of the popped corns and that mixture of not-​overly-​sweet caramel (very important! not to feel like I’m just consuming spoonfuls of sugar) accompanied by a hint of flavorful, smoky bacon just delights your taste buds.
I could not put the bag down.
They also make great gifts.

Just had myself a bag of caramel bacon kettle corn. And the bacon– not that smoky nasty taste like someone snuck in some stank ass bacos – it’s legit, buttery, salty, sweet goodness.
I had them at a comapny picnic, and I hope to run into them again soon. I’d even give this away for Christmas. But only to people I love.

One of the samples was a mini bag of Chunky Pig’s CANDIED BACON CARAMEL CORN. That’s right, a mixture of bacon and caramel in popcorn form! With kettle corn being my favorite, I knew I would love this sweet & savory snack. The popcorn was generously coated in caramel with bits of candied bacon mixed in. The bacon actually added a really nice fatty, savory flavor that complemented the sweet caramel.
A quick peek at their website shows other dessert items made with candied bacon — from cookies to chocolates. I will have to stop by a local Oakland or SF store that stocks Chunky Pig goodies to get my candied bacon fix because shipping is $ 7 to my house (ouch!).
Until then, I’ll have to satiate myself with normal, boring, non-​candied bacon popcorn.

The name doesn’t have anything to do with popcorn. But after you taste it, you’ll know it belongs together.
Contemporary, innovative, smokey, salty, porky, bacon flavor infused into caramelized popcorn. The flavors were odd with my first bite but I began to crave for it more with each handful I shoved into my mouth. It’s a tasty treat to add into your snack-​able pantry.

Delish! This bacon essence caramel popcorn is light and crispy and best of all not sticky! The popcorns pretty much melt in your mouth and the whole experience of eating one of another is rather delightful. Definitely a dessert (super sweet), but a worthwhile one for sure. Highly recommend.

Three words: Candied Bacon Popcorn. Food magic at its finest. Tasting this golden morsel is an experience and I can only say that to know these flavor profiles are to love these flavor profiles.
The salty bacon perfectly complements the sweet vermont maple syrup. Add a dash of cayenne pepper in there and I would be perfectly fine with this being my last meal :) Get yourself a case or two, and spread the Chunky Pig word :)

I guess I am catching up with this bacon craze, I tried the Candied Bacon Caramel Corn, it’s a great sweet and salty combo popcorn you will find addictive. You will find the same result with the chocolate and bacon cookies!!!

Hi, My name is Lynda and I’m addicted to sweets. I especially love the combination of salty/​savory/​sweet. I discovered salted caramels a few years back, and have recently experimented with a salted cayenne caramel that delivered sweet & salty with a kick. Then along came a chunky pig. My local store is at Farm Fresh to You at the Ferry Building — or you can order online from their website. All the foodies on my list are getting oinked this Christmas. :)
