Called yesterday to make an appointment and ask questions … had someone out today to replace all locks and answer all of my questions.
Sterling was super professional, friendly and worked really fast (re-​keyed all 6 doors and cylinders in less than 45 minutes).
Can’t say a bad thing about these guys and will definitely use them/​refer them to anyone else in the market.

The staff at Glewview Key & Lock Shop are extremely courteous, knowledgeable and professional. They helped re-​key our home that we recently purchased. The locksmith that came out was right on time, and had the job done in less than a couple of hours. She took the time to explain the different kinds of locks & bolts, and the reason behind her recommendations. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the work they did, the parts they used, and they are now our «go to» lock shop in Oakland.

We are having a problem with a painting company who had access to our front door key. Glenview Key and Lock sent someone out who re-​pinned our locks, replaced an old cylinder in a mortise lock so it could accept a matching key, and left us with locks that work more smoothly than before. Great job! Knowledgeable, helpful, and skilled. Price was very reasonable.

Great company to work with! I called on a Wednesday with a job that needed to be completed by week’s end. The owner of the company, Debbie, came out that day to provide me with a quote, which she did on the spot. On Friday, a technician came out and completed the job on time and for just under $ 600. They were tidy and swept up all the wood shavings and didn’t leave any sign they were ever there, except for beautiful new deadbolts on my doors.
From beginning to end, every person that I worked with at Glenview was polite, friendly, competent, and provided great customer service. I also feel like their pricing is very fair and their work is excellent. I can see why they came so highly recommended on NextDoor and Unilocal.I am now a loyal customer.

I brought a lock assembly from a motorcycle saddlebag in to have the cylinder taken out and put in the new one. I was looked up and down, and after about a 10 second assessment told «No Thanks I’ll Pass» and to «take it to reeds». Shortness, no eye contact, no explanation and worst of all no service. Guess I should come in looking more like any of the ladies with the 5 star service reviews instead of working class motorcycle rider. Counter-​person at Reeds Security had my cylinder picked out and swapped in 10 minutes. they will forever get my locksmith business.

Made a key on the spot for an old steamer trunk that was locked shut. Other locksmiths didn’t even know what a «steamer trunk» was, and thought I was talking about my car! Great, fast, and affordable service.

Glenview Key and Lock came to my rescue after a handyman wanted to charge me 3 times the price to realign my dead bolt so that my door could actually close and lock. Sterling was great! He arrived exactly on time, explained everything he was doing and asked if I had anything questions. No holiday rate made it even better! First-​rate service. I will definitely use again.

I called Glenview Lock and key to rekey all the doors to my new house. Within a few days Dale came by to give provide an estimate for new locks, new deadbolts, new door handles as well as strike guards on the main doors. I booked the job later that week. Dale was on time, professional, and friendly. He explained what he was doing and I felt reassured I was getting an excellent product. Thanks for the great service.

Dale came to re-​key my house. He was on time, courteous and easy to work with. Prices were reasonable. He even helped me with a remote for my gate, which I didn’t mention when I called about keying the house. He must’ve been a Boy Scout when he was younger, cause he was totally prepared for the unexpected. Thanks Dale!

I used to have a negative perception of locksmiths based on my experience of being gouged by several. Dale from Glenview Key & Lock changed that and I will be using his services going forward.

The Glenview lock team worked magic today!
Have a front door handleset and the inside door lever suffered a broken spring.
The handleset is no longer made, so it was dicey in terms of having to replace the whole assembly and maybe not matching the original door cutout.
Debbie was enthusiastic and challenged by trying to find a spring replacement (apparently no walk in the park.) She said bring it in to the doctor and we’ll put it on the operating table. Couple hours later, a call from Debbie: score! It took a third try but they got the spring replaced.
They’re Gods, I’m tellin’ ya!

I have been going to Glenview Key and lock for over 12 years and unfortunately my last experience was very disappointing.
An older gentleman was not very patient explaining how the lock I brought into him for repair was damaged and how it would go back together. He went as far to say that, «I told you 4 times, now 5 times how this lock works». I realize the situation was frustrating, but it should never come to a point to tell a customer this. I just wanted to understand how the problem occurred, and how to prevent it in the future and this gentleman was not listening to my questions. I realize these people are professional and it is clear to them how things work, but it wasn’t to me and I don’t think how he handled the situation was at all professional. All I was asking for was for some patience and for my years of loyalty and recommending of their shop i was hoping they would continue to treat me decently.
Perhaps it was a bad day, but at the end of the day this experience will cause me to think twice before I call them.

My excellent real estate agent, Kate McCaffrey with Bayside Real Estate in Alameda, recommended Glenview for some lock issues I was having with our family home which I was preparing for sale. Glenview responded quickly and even came back a second time with a part and did not charge for it. The locks, which are very old, are now working like new again. I highly recommend Glenview Key and Lock Shop to anyone needing help with their locks and door handles, etc.

When we moved to Glenview, one of the first things we needed to do was get house keys made. Not knowing there was a lovely, skilled key maker right up the street from me, I went to a hardware store that shall remain nameless.
The line to get keys made was really long. And magically kept getting longer in front of me. (Cutters. Gross.). The guy making keys wasn’t totally skilled in the practice, so he took 20 – 30 minutes per order. Also, he was sweating a lot. The whole thing was really unpleasant on a lot of levels. So while in line, I keyword searched «keys» and Unilocal told me to get my ignorant self to Park Boulevard– and also maybe get to know my neighborhood a little more.
There are several things to love about this little shop.
1) They’ll make your keys in as much time as it takes to find a parking spot at the hardware store. Because they know what they’re doing. Also, all the keys will work.
2) Friendly mom and pop service with no long lines. And credit cards are accepted.
3) I’m a girl, so I must add that the Tudor storefront is insanely cute; it’s a major player in the charm of Park Boulevard. Which is important to me.
So get your keys made here. You’ll save time and aggravation and help maintain a place that really ought to stay right where it is.

I have only come to get keys duplicated, but the guy who works here is super nice. It’s easy to get keys made and they accept credit cards which is awesome.
Key copies are reasonable — around $ 2.20 each I think.
