Hunan Restaurant

If you want a quick weight loss diet order from Hunan. You are guaranteed to get diarrhea within a few hours post consumption. This place had food that was picked from the garbage, and to top it off you had to wait 3 hours for it. The food was shallow and pedantic, and the lady understood nothing on the phone. The best part when I went outside to pick it up, it was delivered by a taxi driver! The rice was brown and the noodles were brown and gross. You can just get a fork and eat out the dumpster yourself. It’s beyond me as to how this place has not been shut down yet.

Ordered food at 12am, it said estimated delivery time was 1:30am. It’s now 2:12am and I haven’t gotten a call or anything, I’ve tried to call the number that’s listed on all its sites and menus but it just makes the busy tone. I don’t recommend ever ordering from here because it will pull your money out of your account and not give you food… horrible place of business.

Despite the late hour, our delivery was prompt and friendly. And the meal itself was wonderful!

well folks it’s been nearly 12 hours since I’ve ordered the food and on grub hub. the food was bleeping disgusting. I had the chicken salad, chow mien and an order of spring rolls. my rear end drooled the pain of the Huang He river prease. this is definitely the Chinese food from the City side of town.
the eggrolls were sacks of cabbage and oil.
the salad… the chicken. so bad. (ate a piece of the chicken and threw the rest directly into the trash)
the chow mien was the only edible thing from that delivery.
I hope someone posts a picture of their kitchen soon so you can see the disgusting conditions under which they were preparing your food. my eggrolls were black. that means the oil is old. very old. and they don’t filter their oil. seriously, this place should not be in business. I have been pooping liquid pain and have been enduring painful an unusually high gaseous pressure system.
I know it’s the only game in town at midnight, but if you like your body, wok away from this prace prease.

I’ve ordered from this restaurant 3 or 4 times now, the first few times were pretty lackluster but they’re open late so I figured I’d give it another go. The fried rice had a burnt cast iron taste every time i ordered it, real bad. The pork was inedible– it was nearly 100% fat and had such a nasty texture that it was hard to keep down but I tried forcing myself to eat it knowing I had just spent a pretty penny on it but ended up tossing it as it was just so bad. The spring rolls were soggy, cold and soaked in grease, all around a complete waste of money I would have been better off heating up some top ramen, I will certainly not be ordering again.

The shittiest food I have ever tasted. Don’t order the shrimp fried rice. Gross … smells disgustingly fishy. Sesame chicken is fucking terrible. Like what the entire fuck … on top of the disappointment of the food, it was 35 mins late. Imagine getting your food 35 mins late and it’s shitty as hell… I wouldn’t eat this if I was high. Chicken salad is inedible tasting chicken on some cheap ass romaine lettuce over dressed In ranch… fried wontons are also inedible. Five stars for the canned soda though. I feel like $ 40 was stolen from me.

HOLY DOGFOOD BATMAN !!! This restaurant undoubtedly produces the worst food that I have ever eaten in my 33 long years on this planet, and quite possibly the worst food in the entire f’ing universe. Anybody who gives this restaurant more than 1 star may have lost their sense of taste in some unfortunate accident. Anybody who eats product from this restaurant more than once in their lifetime deserves to be publicly shamed and ridiculed. Even as I type these words, I feel that I’m not doing justice on just how offensively inedible this GARBAGE is. My boy Foley ordered this for delivery last night at like 2 AM. We were severely intoxicated. I’ve been known to eat copious amounts of absolutely disgusting stuff during such late night inebriated states. When this sh*t arrived, it was utterly appalling. The «spring rolls» were nothing more than sopping wet deep fried cabbage. Not joking. You bite into that crispy outer shell, and uncover soaked wilted cabbage and nothing else. With the «spring rolls» came 2 cups of ketchup as dipping sauce. You read that correctly. I said F’ING KETCHUP!!! I’m dry heaving just thinking about this TRASH. I took 1 bite of the General Tao’s as well. It was bland, dry, gelatinous, and uncompromisingly terrible. Do you know how freaking hard it is to make General Tao’s so poorly that a nearly blacked out dude cannot stomach to eat at 2 AM? What a JOKE!!! I took 1 bite of the noodle dish — they were so hard yet chewy (I couldn’t understand). I took 1 bite of the «spicy beef with asparagus» — it did not seem to contain either of those things. I had a few fork-​fulls of the fried rice, just to try to wash the taste of the other terrible venom out off my palate. Foley guzzled some of the awful looking and smelling soup down (I didn’t touch that crap). He said tasted like a rotten gym locker. When I gave the 10 pound bag of leftovers to a starving homeless man this morning, I actually felt guilty. I felt like I was doing him a disservice. That’s how hellish this establishment is. I implore an Oaktown health inspector to go through this place Stasi-​style (finding a violation no matter what). Who ever owns this place must be hysterically laughing at all the fools who buy their slop. SHAME.

Ordered off EAT24. Worst meal ever.
Crab puffs were OK, I never really buy them but had a rare craving for it.
Ordered Salt n Pepper Prawns, received spicy chicken wings. They were really gross, too greasy.
Wonton soup, my main order was INEDIBLE. No flavor to the broth, and the wonton meat was not cooked.
Hell no, will not be ordering from here ever again.

ABSOLUTELY SKETCH. Lady told me food would be there in 45 minutes. Long story short she was unable to get the food delivered and she told me «call your bank for a refund». Also, it sounded like she put the food in a taxi and sent it to my location? It goes with out saying that I don’t think I would have eaten the food had it arrived in a reasonable amount of time. DEFINITELY SKETCH

I wish I had read Unilocal reviews before ordering from them on GrubHub. While I am normally not in favor of wasting food, what was delivered to me was completely inedible. I feel like this restaurant clearly took advantage of me, and it sounds like lots of other people as well.
First red flag: the delivery person was a cab driver. He didn’t even get out of the cab to hand me me food. He just honked and I walked over to him and took it out of the passenger-​side window. Of his CAB.
«Food”–
— «Crab Rangoon» was actually just wonton wrappers filled with powdered parmesan cheese from one of those green shakers or possibly parmesan packets taken from the nearby Pizza Man. There was no crab or anything else contained therein.
— «Orange Chicken» was– I’m hoping– chicken bits coated with super oily breading, tossed in a very chemical-​y tasting goopy sauce that was not even really that sweet (because you’d think they’d default to some super sugary mystery sauce, but no), and DEFINITELY NOT orangey or even remotely citrusy. It just tasted like chemicals. It was horrendous.
— «Vegetable Crepes» was going to be the meal’s saving grace because it resembled actual egg and vegetables, so I was stoked that I was going to get to eat dinner. So I started munching on this until I saw that it was soaked, halfway to the top, in cooking oil. There was no excuse for that much oil, considering what the dish was.
The only silver lining was that I had an excuse to take the trash out, so I ended up feeling like a productive human being in that sense.
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

My order of crispy spring rolls:
All I got was JUST CABBAGE wrapped in egg roll paper and deep fried in oil. That’s it. You call that a «veggie spring roll»???
OMG, I can make better than that… (and should have never even ordered from any restaurant, period).

Should have never order from this place. I just order at 10pm and it came like 45 min later they meased up my order I order 3 sprite they gave me 3 7up which was fine. Then the chicken chow mein was over due it was sly and had a sour taste? My Mongolian beef had a couple of meat and a bunch of onions it look like a salad. I could have been really sick I’m so disappointed I can’t even write a review right now. Had to called them the lady said she knew the chicken chow mein was sitting out for a long time??? Wtf if you knew why she gave me that order she apologize and said she will make a new one for me tomorrow? I don’t think I will ever eat there I could have been seriously ill. Just a warning I don’t want this to happen to anyone so take my advice watch out if you are going to order from this placeni suggest you don’t to be safe.

Please don’t ever order food from this restaurant. Took 90 minutes for delivery and the food wasn’t even edible. I don’t feel too good. Also half my order was missing. I ordered generals chicken and crab

This is your standard Chinese eatery with great happy hour deals on food and drinks.
I really like their broccoli in garlic, veggie fried rice, crab puffs, sesame chicken, green been chicken, Mongolian beef and, oddly enough, their cheeseburgers (I know, I know. But sometimes you get a late night burger craving and they’re only one that deliver.)
As I said, food is standard take-​out fare.
Eating in is a pleasure. Great service from the owner and her staff. Usually pretty gracious even when they’re busy.
All in all, pretty decent.

Order food from here through grub hub … worst decision ever. The delivery took an hour and 40 minutes … by the time the food got her it was just horrible !! I order the general tso chicken. not spicy. Soggy and taste horrible. Felt sick after eating it. Honey walnut prawn not good. Dry no sauce and taste horrible. I thought maybe the crispy spring roll would be good. no its all cabbage oily and soggy. This is a place you should avoid for to go delivery. I feel so sick eating this. Never again will I order from here. The person on the phone is rude af. She didn’t even want to help me at all. I suggest grab your money snd go somewhere else.
I ate a few bite and end up vomiting it all back out.

Really delicious food! Ordered the green beans, Singapore noodles, beef chow fun, orange chicken, mushroom chicken, and hot and sour soup. SO YUMMY and came out in a good time :) great service, definitely coming back again!

Today was my worst lunch at this place. I got the salt and pepper fish with two day old rice Awful hard and disgusting.
While sitting there waiting to pay my bill a mice was darting from under the chair! YIKES I am in shock and paid for my last lunch there today. GROSS!

One of the best chinese resturants in chinatown. Their lunch special deals are the best ($ 6.50 comes with an item over rice, hot tea and house soup). Very welcoming and friendly.

The fried rice was delicious, but unfortunately they messed up my order.
I ordered takeout on a lazy evening. The combination fried rice was great. Perfectly cooked with lots of pork, chicken, and shrimp. I ordered a beef dish as well, but I got an order of just broccoli instead. «Where is the beef?» Has never been more fitting. I realized too late after the driver had left so I called the restaurant. The lady on the phone acknowledged the problem, but I never got the beef delivered. Maybe I got a reimbursement…
I also ordered a beef and tofu soup which was honestly not the best. The meat had a bit of an off taste.
Perhaps stick to the recommended dishes and check your order when you receive it!

Grand Re-​Opening
Located near the Hotel Travellers aka «No-​Tell, Hotel» on the corner of Franklin/​11^th.
If you’re comparing this place to before, then you might not be a fan.
This place is newly remodeled, scaled down menu with pictures, fancier table settings, tea served in stemmed water glasses and a lunch special that comes with soup of the day along with a green salad (unusual for a chinese restaurant).
* Price: Very reasonably priced lunch specials
* Ala Carte pricing: seems a little high but haven’t seen portion size
* Service: quick, attentive, more formal
* Food: Flavorful with nice selection. caters to more diverse customers
* Menu selection: interesting dishes with pictures
* Ambiance: asian décor and fancier table setting
Thumbs up for the General Tso’s Chicken (not heavily breaded) and Mushroom Chicken lunch specials.
Note: if you try to order the General Tso’s chicken mild it will still be pretty spicey but without the thai chili pepper garnish.
