Knox Sewer & Backhoe did our sewer lateral replacement a few months ago and we had a good experience. Mr. Knox proposed a way to replace the sewer line without tearing up our walk-​way, unlike the other bidders, and was not deterred by our inability to use a trench-​less replacement due to a number of reasons.
The workers dug the ditch quickly and replaced the sewer lateral with little disruption to our plumbing use. The bid was way lower than competitors and the EBMUD inspection went off without a hitch. They did the replacement on short notice and they even re-​cemented the small area of our walkway that they did have to disrupt.
I would recommend Knox Sewer to anyone in need of a new sewer lateral.

Not only does Isiah actually pick up the phone when you call (shock!), he is responsive, professional, reasonably priced, and fast. I hired him to do the sewer lateral upgrade/​replacement on my Berkeley house and it was done in three days. His workers were very considerate of my neighbor’s plants and garbage area, which butts right up next to the wall of my home, and Isiah was very gracious and professional when the neighbor threw a (misguided) fit nonetheless. He worked seamlessly and professionally with the contractors who were replacing my foundation at the same time. He gave me a quote and stuck to it, not a penny more. A really honest, no-​BS guy, who I would gladly recommend!
