Out & About Dog Walking & Services

Nate is the best dog walker! We were lucky enough to use Nate for the past year and have been extremely happy with his service. It’s really important that a walker be organized Nate was always on top of Wrigley’s schedule. Also important, anytime Nate had to miss a day he proactively offered to schedule Wrigley’s walk with a trusted co-​worker so there was no interruption of our service. Nate is also extremely knowledgable about dogs and was able to really help us out by recognizing the signs of a foxtail in Wrigley’s nose and even took him to emergency care when we were unable to get to Wrigley quickly. Wrigley loves Nate!

This is such a long overdue review: Nate, put simply, is THE best. Our little pup Alta was part of Nate’s pack for almost three years and she had the most amazing experience going on hikes with all her friends, socializing, running around in the Oakland hills, and playing. With us, Nate was responsive, understanding, and accommodating of our ever changing schedule; to boot, he write fantastic messages about Alta’s days out and about (sometimes even song lyrics!) in our shared dog journal. We recently moved to Alameda, where we quickly learned how much of a gem we had with Nate, and Atla’s no longer in Nate’s region; leaving Nate and Out and About was one of the things that made us saddest about our move to the island.

My puppy baby and I had an awesome dog walker before. Then we moved. I didn’t know what to do until we found Nate of Out & About Dog Walking. Nate is super friendly, attentive, and über accommodating. Ok, I admit, I might be that obsessive dog mommy… and well, my puppy *is* my baby. And having a full time job with long hours sometimes mean, I need extra services. Nate has been really great to work with. He sends me photos regularly when they are out and about. My Holly always looksl like she’s having so much fun. They do real nature stuff so I often find dirt caked between her paws and she comes home really tired but, I love that my pup gets to be a dog!
I often text Nate to ask if my puppy’s status or if she was sick, if she’s pooped or how she’s fairing during the walk. And he provides timely responses and puts me at ease. If I have to work late, he will do extra walks for me. What a life saver!
From the research I’ve done, Nate and his services are one of the best deals out there in Oakland. I almost don’t want to tell people how great he is… because I don’t want to share him! (Just being honest!) But it’s been about a month and it’s time for a review… and he deserves it!

Best decision!
Batman used to go to doggie day care and it was too hard on her body. Out and About provides the perfect balance of exercise, socializing, play, and calm. I feel this service has made time with my doggie a higher quality.
Batman loves Nate. I never feel guilty leaving her alone on workdays. I know that she has the best, luckiest doggie life. You should see all the beautiful places «the pack» goes together. Nate sends photos or a video and I rush over to my coworker (who also uses Out and About) to discuss the happy pups. Occasionally, I would come home early and be able to smell the eucalyptus on her paws.
I’ve also used the dog sitting service when away on vacation last year. I swear I had more fun, knowing that Batman was hanging out with her friend.
I really can’t say enough positive things here. The communication is great, funny, positive, and the perfect amount (not stifling). The cost is more than fair and he offers discounts for cash payment.
I think the world of Out and About!

Out & About has been our pooch’s source of fun during our work day for almost the past 4 years, and we couldn’t be happier. Nate and co. are wonderful with her, giving her the love and exercise she needs. We also get a little update about what they did and where the dogs went each day. And they are very flexible with my ever-​changing schedule. I don’t believe many other dogs are as fortunate as mine with the care she receives from Nate and the folks at Out and About!

Our dog has been adventuring with Out & About for almost 4 years now. He can’t get enough of Nate and totally looks forward to his daily adventures, but Out & About is much more than a dog walking service. Nate has been amazing in all aspects of caring for our boy including sitting for us on short notice, doing extra care when work requires late nights, and making sure we know what he’s been up to during the day.

laura is flat out amazing with my dogs (and cat!) she visits daily to take them out and they are excited and happy to see her. when my dog expo was very ill with cancer in the last two months of her life, laura treated her with love and care and gave me immense peace of mind about having to leave her to go to work. now that expo has passed, laura continues to care for java on a daily basis, helping him to transition from being in a two dog family to being the only dog.
i cannot say enough good things or rave enough about laura and her service. she knows dogs, she treats my dogs as her own and i know that they are loved and cared for, and she is a really nice person to boot!
her service is fairly priced, she is flexible with her time and she keeps me informed about how java is doing during the day.
you won’t be disappointed!!! i promise!

We’ve used tons of services for our spoiled dog. No one compares to Laura. Not only does she bring home a happy, tired dog, but she’s really wonderful about keeping you up to date with your pup’s activities. Our neighbors have repeatedly remarked on how well behaved our boy is with her (not nearly as well with us) and how happy he is.
When our dog was really ill, Laura took him on with all day care. She was flexible about times and kept us up to date on his progress.

LOVED this dog service! First off, their prices are the cheapest in the area so you really get a bang for your buck. Second, I had a consultation with the company owner so you can make sure you’re not leaving your dog in the hands of a nut job and she was totally chill. She volunteers for the humane society AND is a dog owner so she really knows what she’s talking about AND she can relate to being a concerned dog owner. Third, my dog has social anxiety issues (more of a human’s dog than a dog’s dog) and she helped him play with the other dogs which is an incredible feat. Definitely using this service again!!!
