UPDATE 6.9.16: Today I spoke with Melanie Schafer of Treasure Wine Estates, Rosenblum’s parent company and she couldn’t have been nicer. She apologized for my experience and let me know that because several people had had similar experiences, Teri was no longer with Rosenblum. While I hate to see anyone lose their job, I do really appreciate the call from Melanie and knowing that they took action to remedy the problem and improve customer experience. Changed me from «I’ll never go there again» to «I will DEFINITELY go there again»!
I thought this place was awesome until I wanted to have my birthday party there. I emailed them through their website letting them know that I’d like to have a private event for 20 – 25 people and wanted to pre order and pay for bottles of wine and food.
Their event person, Teri Harper called me back and left me a message letting me know that because they are so busy they don’t do private events/​large parties on weekends.
I emailed her back, offering to do my party on Sunday rather than Saturday but got another VM from her saying no.
That all seems sort of reasonable to me except that my boyfriend did the nicest thing ever and called to try.
Lo and behold when he called, Teri Harper was not only happy to accommodate but offered to suggest wines, give him a private room and send over catering menus.
I don’t know if the policy changed between May 5 and May 31, or what, but regardless of the reason, I certainly won’t be spending any of my money at Rosenblum Cellars or any of the other wineries in their «family»…ever.

Hidden gem with delicious food, wine and music. Staff is friendly and accommodating with Kenny and Sharon) view is lovely and if you can sit on the patio, there’s even more to enjoy.
I’ll make this a go-​to spot for beautiful afternoons or meetings before Dinner in JLS.

This place is awful. You are offered a taste of your selected wine and, when you approve, are then poured an amount equal to the taste — except this time they charge you $ 14. Worse, I bought a cookie at the SF farmers market to give to my friend who was waiting for us at the ferry dock in Oakland. These clowns wouldn’t let him eat a cookie in their restaurant «because it wasn’t purchased here.» Never again!!!

I am going to confess that I am not a huge fan of Rosenblum wines. They seem to specialize in reds, and more specifically in Zinfandels, which I do not naturally favor in the first place. And the wines’ high alcohol content seems to destroy any complexity and depth. If I was going to have a drink that packed such a punch, I would order a Scotch. The wine tastings are quite expensive for what you get; running about $ 20. However, the space is very inviting and I look at the high prices as the cost of admission to sit in a beautiful space and watch the ever changing sky and water show outside.

I have been to this location a few times and I enjoy sitting outside sipping wine and looking at the great water view. I went on Sat. 2÷13÷16 day before Valentine’s day around 2;00 and found it to not be too busy with a few seats still open outdoors. I was looking forward to enjoying a nice crisp cold bottle of Chardonnay while relaxing and taking in our unusual Feb. sunshine.
When I looked at the menu of options there were two red flights, one for $ 20 and one higher. There were glasses of reds and whites around $ 12 + per and bottles of reds to purchase. I saw no bottles of whites to purchase. So I asked for a bottle of Chardonnay and was told by the server they no longer sell this to drink on site. I could buy one to take with me but not to drink there. I have never been told I could not buy a bottle of wine at a winery to drink on site this was odd to me. I much prefer whites on warm days. I asked why? I was told that if they filled this location with only people that purchased Chardonnay they could not make any money and they are sitting on prime property. So they are telling me that the price point of their white does not warrant them selling it for consumption while there as their rent needs to be paid. This did not set well with me. If I had not planned to sit there and relax I would have got up and left as there are other wineries in the area, Cerrutti, Jeff Cohn and more.
I went ahead and selected the overpriced red flight for $ 20 and four small tastes but this will be my last at Rosenblum Jack London Square. I do not feel that a winery that will not sell their own wine for their customers at their site says much for service.

Our favorite place to taste wine close to home. It’s all because of Sharon. We always request to be seated in Sharon’s section because she is the hostess with the mostess. Our glasses are never left empty and it’s always service with a smile and more. It really is all about customer service (besides great wine) and the service with a smile that Sharon provides is THE best. Make sure to order the cheese and crackers which well complement the wine. And enjoy the gorgeous view.

Rosenblum Cellars is definitely my new pantrydroppin’ go-​to-​date night. It is right by the waters, the lights, lovely bricks of Jack London Square. It is jaw droppin’ beautiful.
I’d assume summertime is the ideal spot for souls that are into fine wine-​ing. You can sit out in the patio, raise those pinkies, and pretend that you know all the language of wine. «Oh nodes of concord grapes, almond, butter, truffles, dark chocolate (See I can be a wine connoisseur too!)» My lovely coworkers came here on friday night for some light wine tasting after our late night adventures from Thursday night. What better way to cure a hangover with some more wine. Plus, it was a Friday night, payday, we got our W-2’s. Uhm WINE. Please. Now. Fill ‘er up!
The fine young dapper that helped us throughout the night was a stud! He was extremely attentive and slipped in some old school jokes here and there. I love that attitude!
If you have membership, wine tasting is free before 6:30pm (?I think?) It was free fo me! I ain’t complaining. Of course we had crackers and cheese to go along with our gluttonous taste buds. I believe membership is around $ 100 a month or quarter? I forget. Membership includes discount wine by the bottle every quarter. Are we in school? Why I am mentioning these mathematical year divisions? I am definitely getting a membership. You know when you are a kid, the cool thing was to get a library card. Yeah I just got a wine card! Whoo!

$ 5 glass of wine with a Unilocal check in — That’s just perfect.
Go here while you’re waiting for the SF Ferry, enjoy the generous portions of snacks, and watch the dogs /​pigeons /​children run around the grassy green area immediately in front.
The staff brings little baggies so you can take your unfinished snack with you. Really a nice addition to Jack London Sq.

Right at the ferry to SF’s entrance, with a pretty sweet outdoor patio, Rosenblum offers up charcuterie plates and wonderful glasses of red. Feel free to forgo the tasting and just purchase wine by the glass, if you so wish.
Although their tasting at $ 20 is a tad bit pricy for my wallet (and not waived with a wine purchase), I still very much enjoy Rosenblum Cellars. This is a more «corporate» experience and therefore lacks that Oakland charm we know and love, but it’s a beautiful venue and the wine is really good. I’d rank this as one of the better wines I tasted on my Oakland wine tour.
Not gonna lie, they are pretty damn pushy on the wine club membership, but feel no pressure. It does happen to be a great deal when you are paying $ 20 a pop on wine tastings, but I can’t commit to something like this.
I can imagine myself on a beautiful sunny day enjoying a glass or three on this pretty small, but wonderful patio. Cheers!

Solid wine bar with a perfect view if ya choose to sit outside.
Rosenblum offers great wine, great service and the greatest wine club programs. I was invited by a friend for a wine tasting. He has the Explorers membership, meaning free tasting with up to four guest. Yay free wine!
There are a small selection of cheeses, charcuterie and wine snacks. Members get 20% off on menu items, and other purchases. Another perk: D We had cheddar cheese, and some crackers. It was impressive because the menu stated «picnic style» so we ended up with a block of cheese in its own packaging and enough to share with four people. And the utensils were pretty lol small and unique.
Ambiance is very calm and open space. High tables and barstools. In the evenings its a more lively and buzzing and the view of the port is priceless.
We had the tasting, consisted of four wines, wine guy, Yama was very knowledgeable and friendly. He shared stories about how each wine was made and its aroma tasting notes.
They also host various events and the wine tasting changes every two weeks. I was sold and joined the Explorers Club for $ 100 and not have regretted. Its for four months, 4 bottles of wine, free tastings, up to four guest and discounts on everything else. Its totally worth it. Especially if you live in oakland or near Jack London and making it part of a date night or afternoon outings with friends.

Urban winery specializing in Zinfandel wines. The location is trendy with great atmosphere. The outside patio seating is very nice. Pair your wine tasting with any of your favorite snacks on the menu. I enjoyed the Reserved Flight which gave me the opportunity to try four different Zinfandel wines. This place is located right next to the ferry that comes and goes to San Francisco. Definitely a nice place to visit, enjoy wine tasting and beautiful views of the Bay Area! There is metered parking and parking garages available in the area, or free street parking if you don’t mind walking a few blocks… just follow the signs to Jack London Square.

Gorgeous new tasting room in and of itself, but with the added bonus of being right on the water, so there’s not only beautiful picture views inside, but an absolutely glorious patio outside. There’s so much room to spread out that it could probably hold private functions on one side while still serving the public everywhere else.
The wines are a treat to discover, and the tasting room attendant I spoke with very knowledgeable. They appeared to specialize in, and showcase, reds like zins and syrahs, all of which were quite deep and complex.
A welcome addition to Jack London Square. As a resident here with at least half a dozen wineries within walking distance, I’m grateful that we’re so spoiled for choice.

I really liked my visit here. I was not expecting the wine to be this good but I was surprised. Not the Rosenblum stuff you see on the bottom shelf. Very smooth well structured wines. Beautiful tasting room, views to the water. Yamma was pouring and was a gracious host, talking about the wines and just friendly conversation about many other things.

Hmm… this place is right in the corner of the hustle and bustle of Jack London square. It’s right across from the Ferry entrance as well. My sister, her bf, and I ended up stopping by after the Eat Real Festival, and there were a couple parties there.
My sister and I shared the flight of wine, which was super pleasant. Don (I think his name was) was very knowledgeable with his wines and was sure to check in on us to make sure we weren’t waiting too long before serving our next wine!
Only small thing was that we were asked to move and finish our wine at the bar because a party was supposedly coming in later. Not a huge deal, but we were on our last wine and would only take another 5 minutes. When we moved to the bar, no big party had shown up yet, even by the time we left. Not a super huge deal to me.
Overall, I’d definitely come here again to try more of their wines! On a sunny day I’d think it’s even nicer to sit in the small couches outside, which we saw one party do.

These people are passionate about wine and care about the business. It shows in the way the serve you and talk to you about your day and life.
At the bar we tried a few different wines letting him know we like sweet wines. He let us try about 4 different wines before we settled on one. We only paid 10 plus tax because of our Unilocal Check In deal (normally 12 $ a glass) (Can’t tip on the receipt so bring cash!!) There is beautiful comfortable outdoor seating. The BIG windows that wrap around the building overlook the bay and make for a gorgeous sunset.
Don’t miss this place while in Oakland.

This place was wonderful! We came in with a big group, they accommodated us immediately! The wine was great, the food was great! The whole experience totally made our afternoon! Sia was the BEST server! Thank you for a lovely outing!

Good service but super pricey! Prob won’t be back until our paychecks can handle it. Nice view of the bay, a nice stop before the ferry ride, just way above our $$ comfort zone, even during happy hour

Rosenblum Cellars is definitely one of my favorite finds of 2015! I had previously tasted their wines before at Lungomare and really enjoyed the light, fruitiness of their wines.
Experiencing a bottle of wine at Rosenblum Cellars itself was even more amazing. The patio space is gorgeous and provides a lovely view of lush green lawns overlooking the waterfront. The perfect backdrop to a lazy afternoon of wine sipping and cheese tasting. Furthermore, the service at Rosenblum Cellars was attentive and efficient. My friends and I shared a bottle of Zinfandel which we very quickly drained, and a picnic basket of cheese. The cheese and wine were lovely, fragrant and very light the perfect complement to the weather. True lovers of red wine may find the wine at Rosenblum Cellars less complex and interesting than preferred, but I personally enjoy it for its drinkability and lightness. All in all, I would absolutely recommend Rosenblum Cellars for the wine, service and experience. It is a wonderful place and I can’t wait to go back to visit.

I normally get Rosenblum’s zinfandel when I’m in the grocery and just need a good zin to go with dinner or to take to a friend’s house for dinner. It’s not complicated and you don’t have to be a legit wino to enjoy it.
I didn’t know there was a location at Jack London Square and when it came up on Unilocal I was certain that Unilocal was wrong. Nope, there’s a location here. What I loved about Rosenblum is that our tasting was semi-​private. We didn’t have to elbow our way to a counter and wrestle for attention from an overworked employee. You know when they’re so busy they pour your wine and say something like, «Hi, this is the Chardonnay and it tastes like apples». We were seated at a table and the server came over to and poured each of the different wines and talked to us about them. I think that’s pretty cool.
We bought a couple of bottles to go and had them shipped home. The shipping process was really easy, but it seemed like it took forever to get the wine. I was ready to call someone. Don’t play with my wine!

Awesome service, and the membership pays for itself if you go a couple of times. (A club member can bring 4 guests to a tasting!!!)

Met a friend here to catch up on life, and I must say, what a nice little spot for doing just that!
Located next to the ferry terminal, the space is nice and open, with vaulted ceilings, and a very simple and clean design. The views are amazing, and there’s nothing that will obstruct it, as there are floor-​to-​ceiling windows that make up the walls. They also have a outdoor seating area, which I’m sure is fantastic during the warmer weather.
I went with the tasting, and enjoyed every single wine poured. The one-​man staff was friendly, engaging, and knowledgable. We were the last ones there, and he did not once rush us.
At this time, they are also working on adding a small bites menu option, which is a great idea (we brought our own, and they were perfectly fine with it). This is an ideal spot for group hang-​outs, or something that’s more one-​on-​one. I’ll definitely be back.

Not bad Rosenblum, not bad. More like 3.5 stars…
Recently had a private birthday party in the curtained off area of the place. Personal pourer and attendant, unobtrusive service, good blends, and overall made for a great surprise birthday party — thanks for your help!
The location of this place is next to the ferry terminal, and close to Yoshi’s and the garage nearby. Makes for a nice sunset too through the port of oakland cranes ;) They don’t validate. The price was affordable per hour of service (roughly $ 200) midday — not sure if the price changes for other hours…
My only complaint? Take the merchandise out of the curtained off area to make room for the private party stuff (cakes, coat rack, purses, etc) or gifts. Otherwise, a great place to have a small get together — holds around 30 comfortably — but we squeezed in 40ish just fine.

I first discovered Rosenblum Cellars on a Savor Oakland food tour. What impressed me the most was not the wine itself, but their commitment to wine accessibility and education in an urban setting.
I live in Sacramento surrounded by countless regions and countless wineries competing for my dollar. The problem is, 99.9% of the wineries themselves aren’t easily accessible to the average city dweller, making tastings a luxury reserved for those with time, money and hired transportation on their side.
At Rosenblum, they are at least making a strong effort to bring the essence of what they do to the people. Our tasting consisted of three or four reds and was hosted by one of their winemakers. He was very informative about what goes into each glass. Not just the actual process, but the passion and philosophy of the winery itself. None of the wines fit my personal palette preferences, but they were all good for what they were.
The «cellar» is an open, sparse and modern tasting room facing the water. There are plenty of items for sale besides the wine, but that is really the main draw.

Rosenblum Cellars recently moved from its location at Alameda Point to Jack London Square. Its new location is in a modern facility with an outdoor patio area across from the Jack London Square ferry terminal.

Was here for the first time for the Oakland Magazine’s grand opening party for Rosenblum. There is the main tasting room and a reserve tasting room on the side. There are bar tables and a bar counter table along the window. You can opt to sit outside and sip your wine and take in the views as well. They also have various gift items displayed near the entrance. We were served by Jackie, whom we met during a visit to Rosenblum’s Alameda location, and had a nice chat about this new location.

As a person that does not really like change, I was nervous for our winery to move from Alameda to Jack London Square. My husband and I have been members of the Rosenbum wine club for too many years to count. We like the wine and we love the people that work at the winery.
We got the chance to stop by the new location on just the second day of it being open. This place is gorgeous! There is some outdoor seating you walk past as you enter the tasting room which is perfect for a summer afternoon.
We were greeted by many smiles from the employees and escorted to the «reserve tasting area» for members. They sure know how to make a girl feel special! The décor is nice with barrels against the wall and comfy chairs.
The wines were excellent as usual and the conversation was fun. Will we be back? Heck yes! I am glad the winery moved across the water so we have an excuse to check out all the happenings at Jack London Square… and sip a glass of wine while watching the people walk by and checking out the view!
