Great kids boutique. They carry both new items (including Robeez, Zutano, Tea, Haba and more) and a nice selection of used items. The used items are in the back right corner of the store. The prices on the pre-​owned items are super reasonable. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Since I no longer buy clothing for myself and only focus on buying clothes for my baby, this shop is one of my favorites. They carry trendy and durable new items, as well as a great selection of used clothing.

I always visit this store before a child’s birthday party. There are so many adorable items to choose from, you will always walk out happy with your purchase. I find the prices to be a bit on the high side, which is the only reason I didn’t give five stars. Otherwise, I am in love with this place!

Love the selection, high quality toys, books, clothes, as affordable as possible, and a friendly owner, knowledgeable about her stuff and always happy to give advice.

The staff is generally rude and will over look me for a more upperclass shopper even though I always buy something. Everything in this shop can be bought online. So if customer service is spotty well what’s going to keep you in business? My advice to the store, train your staff to provide great service. You never know what’s going on in your customers lives. Retail therapy fail. Went to gap instead got great service and dropped over 200 bucks instead of at a local business.

Such a great store to have in the neighborhood! I shop here often for everything from clothes (used and new), books, hair accessories, sun hats, toys, shoes. I love this place so much that I forego Amazon Prime sometimes just to give them business. The staff are very helpful, always measuring my little one’s ever-​growing feet so that I buy the right size. As a mom, I highly recommend this place.

Way back when my mini– me was a real mini– me, everything we needed to accessorised was coveted here at Silver Moon. A little mini-​me Goorin Bros. hat, cool shades, cool-​neon pumas and rings and things. Yea my tyke was always styin’. Dima (the store proprietress) has a good eye with a cool factor. The clothes/​shoes selection is quite small however you’re going to want every style for that little person in your life. She also carries some really cool unique toys (dinosaurs, action figures, etc). Theres a nice train play-​set to keep the kids occupied while you browse.
Silver Moon also carries used clothes (buy and sell/​trade). On a lucky day you can find premium jeans for little wee arses. Only downside– Restroom is not for public use. Moms know when a kid’s gotta go a kid’s GOTTA go.

today i went in to sell as opposed to buy (shocker). i had 4 giant bags from my «roaring 20s era». yep, i went to town and spent money likeit was going out of style with my oldest daughter. needless to say i had some prize pieces, lots of Tea, matching gymboree sets, party dresses, to die for cold weather coats, fabulous baby headbands, you name it. usually i dread bringing stuff in to sell but she definitely has a good eye for quality and what will see. i hate to see some of my prize pieces go but glad someone else will gain some sweet memories in my daughters’ stylish pieces.
LOVED the experience. they were friendly and respectable. i will definitely be using my «credits» to purchase some new Tea dresses for my daughters. oh, and maybe Jr too :) but not dresses, some manly pieces.
come in if you want quality at a good prices.

Stopped by this store per the recommendation of a friend; was on the look-​out for an inexpensive gift for a friend who just had a baby boy. The store is ridiculously cute and has a good variety of new and gently-​used clothing and accessories. I bought a few newborn items, a book, and the cutest tiniest congratulatory card. Overall, it’s a great place to get things for baby. Great customer service, too!

Great for birthday gifts! And they offer very cute gift bags with tissue paper. Love how knowledgeable Dima is of kids and their likes.
They have a good eye for new and barely used clothing. Happy the store is in Oakland.

Super cute kids store. Some items are pricey but over all its for the quality items. Custom puppets, wooden toys, and the like. Clothing is at consignment prices and good to excellent condition. It’s a nice children’s find in the area.
The service was nice and the woman at the counter was friendly and personable. If I was in the area again, I would definitely stop in.

I haven’t bought any of their new clothing items but they’re good brands like Zutano which are expensive no matter where you go so there’s no getting around that.
The prices and selection on their used kids clothes are great though. They only offer good name brand used stuff in perfect condition so if you don’t feel like spending $ 45 on a baby sweater that she’ll fit into for 2 months but you dig the designer styling, this is a great place to shop.
Also, major extra bonus points for letting me come in on a hot day and nurse my baby who was having a meltdown and needed to eat and go to sleep. I came in and asked for a regular customer favor of a chair and a quiet place to nurse and the owner didn’t bat an eye. I was SO grateful — those of you who have been in that bind know what it’s like — they have my loyalty.

This is the perfect example of how to run a neighborhood business. Dima is helpful, down to earth, and funny. I always stop in here for gifts and get all my boys’ shoes here. Also, really great selling experience for my used kids’ stuff. Love love love!

I just sold some of my kids clothes here for the first time and I really enjoyed my experience. My youngest son destroyed nearly all of their toy displays, but they were very nice about it. Also, they were really well organized. They jumped between buying from customers to selling their goods easily and made it so no one felt like they were being ignored. My new favorite kids re-​sale shop!

I’ve sold things here once before and it was the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had for a used clothing store. The store owner took nearly everything that I brought in and was very pleasant through the entire transaction.
I ended up getting cash but I may consider getting store credit next time. She has great new and used merchandise.

I have 1 nephew (turning 4), 3 nieces (ages 7, 5, 1.5). Since Silver Moon came to Lakeshore, it is a my «can always find a kid gift» store. Today was no exception. The hat rack of little boys’ fedoras and wool caps caught my eye but I was hesitating b/​c I was unsure of sizes. A store clerk, Dima, noticed my focus on the hats and she came over and explained the sizes to me (some fedoras fit size 1 – 3 and other fedoras fit boys ages 6 – 8). Dima thoughtfully laid out some fedoras and caps on a flat surface so I could view them (vs trying to move the rack — the pole didn’t swivel). Within 6 min, I made my decision. Note: Dima did NOT in any way pressure me or make me feel rushed The caps are made by Goorin Brothers –famous hat makers since 1895. I bought the Night Star Junior flat brim (see URL below for pic.) Normally $ 25.00 — Silver Moon discounted 10%.

I go here cause there’s nothing else like it within walking distance of my house. The staff tries to be helpful, but they just do not give off a friendly helpful vibe, even the stilted customer service seems forced.
Prices are a little excessive, but doing business in Oakland ain’t exactly a picnic.

The owner wrote to me and said she’ll no longer allow religious music being played, so I’ve stopped in with the kids a couple times since then.
When I visit the place by myself, it’s usually because I’m going to buy a gift, but when I take the kids, it’s usually just to entertain them. Luckily, they are always friendly and helpful, even if it’s obvious that we have no intention of buying anything other than a couple of dollars worth of tchotchkes. This makes me want to come back and spend more money!

I walked by this store on the way to the Farmers Market and it made me realize that I needed to buy a gift for a 2-​year old girl’s bday.
The place was small yet has different varieties and cute things.
A lady came up to me as I was looking for a gift and was helpful in showing me different gift ideas. Their items were all reasonably priced.
I’m also happy to see a lot of «green» toys, although I’m not a big advocate for it.
After choosing my gift, the lady even helped me wrap my gift.
Glad to have this place in this neighborhood.

I love the products in this store. The owner has meticulous taste in used clothes, and since my family moved to Lakeshore in February, most of my daughter’s wardrobe has been from this store.
Unfortunately, the owner leaves something to be desired. Most of her smug, holier-​than-​thou attitude is contained in the snobby look on her face, which I can endure (even though when you don’t look in the mirror while putting on a ponytail in the morning, you really have no place to judge) for the good finds. I’m in there many times a week.
The other day I brought in my daughter and she was eating M&M’s, which she was dropping and we were promptly picking back up. The owner came over to where I was looking at clothes and POKED ME in the back. I turned around, kind of shocked, and she said, «There’s no eating in here. For next time.»
I put back several of the items I had been planning to buy. Then yesterday, I went in as she was closing to buy some $ 1 items from her sidewalk sale rack. She informed me that she wouldn’t take my card for $ 4, and I didn’t have cash. I asked if she could hold them for me, and she said yes, but only until 11 a.m. I went in at 12:30, and sure enough, she’d put them back on the rack and sold every one. That was to be expected. But then she made a point of saying to me, «Yeah, I thought about it last night, and I should have just given them to you.» Then why the heck did you put them back on the rack? If I come here several times a week, you’ll definitely see me again.
Obviously she cares not one bit for the $ 50 – 100 I drop in her store every month. So I will take my business elsewhere.
