Simonis Quality Christmas Trees

These guys are great! My 3YO son & I arrived late morning on Sat ¹²⁄₅. Lots of tree shoppers around. Surprising how tree shopping can elevate some folks stress level. We looked and looked and looked at all the tree varieties — but chose our annual favorite, a Noble fir. The Simonis squad then trimmed the base, made a fresh cut (my 3YO son loved the chain saw), and double checked with me the height of our ceiling. After that, the guy helping us bound the tree, and set it upon our car & tied it down. Their squad is nice & friendly — I can only imagine the stress pots that come in that these guys have to deal with. I couldn’t do it. Nonetheless — they were all quite pleasant. For prices, my mantra is «Good work isn’t cheap, and cheap work isn’t good.» Can you find cheaper — maybe — but you can’t find better folks eager to help you. They are like Santa’s elves! Enjoy!

Based on our experience last year, we opted to return again and were not disappointed. Same excellent selection, attentiveness, and friendly people. The young man who helped us last year was there again, and actually remembered us (I remembered him too after realizing he’s about a foot taller now)! Still a happy customer! Thanks!

Great selection of trees, ample parking, excellent customer service, netting wrap for the tree to make it easy to carry it indoors, it took under 15 – 20 minutes from when we arrived to when we left with this year’s tree. This is our 2^nd year at this lot and we will be back!

Really lovely. Good selection, very friendly teenagers helping out (I think they’re part of the family). Just felt a lot of holiday cheer shopping here — a noticable lack of cynicism. Dog friendly :)

Went to this tree lot today and got a beautiful tree. This was actually the 3^rd lot we went to searching for our tree. It was a large lot, had a lot of options, was dog friendly and only seemed a wee expensive. I liked that I could buy the tree and get one of the plastic water dishes at the same place.
We found a tree without a price tag and spent about 10 minutes unsuccessfully trying to track down someone to quote us a price before we ended up just dragging it to the pay line, getting a quote and making the purchase. Will probably be back next year!

At $ 10 a foot the price is okay for our area but since they don’t use a stick the pricing varies… a lot. We were quoted $ 49 for a tree and when we chose another tree the same height and skinnier we were quoted $ 59 by a different worker. Which okay, I understand prices vary and since I had already been waiting in line for 15 min with no quote I was just ready to get the tree. But what makes this quote two stars beyond the $ 65 I paid for a skinny short tree is the fact that while 5 – 6 people waited in line for 15 – 20 min with no assistance, multiple other people were having their trees brought right in to the trimming area and getting their trees right away. It wasn’t until we finally said something that one of the 7 – 8 workers finally helped us.
In short, randomly priced and somewhat expensive trees and chaotic poor service make this review 2 stars.

Purchased a tree at 9:00 a.m. this morning with delivery. It is now 6:30 p.m. and it still has not arrived! I guess I won’t get my tree decorated this weekend.

Great tree selection, with a friendly and efficient staff. My fiancé and I purchased a beautiful Silver Tip, and we couldn’t be happier!

Wonderful!!! Family owned. Immediately approached by a young boy around 13 – 15 years old who was very friendly and informative. The trees were beautiful. We paid $ 59 for about a 5.5 foot traditional tree (can’t remember the type). They cut and loaded the tree for us. Felt like we were taken care of from the beginning to the end. Buying our Christmas tree was a wonderful experience thanks to Simonis!

We had great luck finding the perfect tree at Simonis. This was actually our second stop, after not finding one at another lot in Oakland. Simonis had lots of trees and didn’t seem picked over at all. The shape of the trees too looked much better pruned We were greeted by a helpful guy who ended up being the one htat put the tree on top of the car for us. I like that he offered to take the tree out of its holder and let us see all sides before deciding, and wasn’t pushy at all. The pricing seemed the same as the other lot. My favorite thing was that they put the tree through a machine that wraps it up tightly after giving you a fresh cut off the bottom. This way its more secure on the car if you have to take the freeway.

Went here for our tree this year. Great selection and not overwhelming. Staff/​family was very helpful and nice. Prices were great though they only take cash or checks. Have a look see!

This year, our usual Christmas tree lot was closed down, so we had to search far and wide for a suitable replacement. Not only did Simoni’s provide exemplary service, but the tree was got was quite literally the best we’ve ever had. We bought it two week before Christmas, and it’s the 7^th of January and the tree is still green and fresh. The prices were very competitive, better than other tree lots, and the family working there were personable, kind, and provided top notch service. I’m so happy we found this place, and I’ll be coming back next year for sure!

One of the nicest tree lots I’ve ever seen. Parking looks tough but just pull in at the vacant bank building next door. The people working here are really kind and helpful. The tree (a noble fir) is one of the best we’ve ever had. This will be our spot next year.

We’ve only been in the bay area for a few years, and hadn’t really figured out where to buy a quality tree for a reasonable price without going to one of those big box stores. Last year we ended up buying one at our local grocery store, but this year we needed to get the baby to sleep so we decided to hop in the car and drive around until we saw a lot that looked promising. Our first stop was the Piedmont Boy Scout Lot. Holy pricy trees! They didn’t have anything less than $ 80. Discouraged, we hopped back in the car, cursing bay area prices, and kept driving.
Just down the road we saw a sign pointing us toward Simonis Trees. Simonis?! My sisters and I all went to school with one Simonis or another in our tiny (way) north state hometown. They’ve been selling trees to our family up there for ages, so we crossed our fingers that it was the same clan.
Sure enough, these are the same Simonis folks! They have a ton of trees (both quantity and variety). I’m very partial to Silver Tip Firs, which can be super pricy, but we got a really nice 5 – 6 footer for $ 50. Considering that the same tree was $ 30 more a few blocks away, I’d say that’s a deal.
