I’ve been working with Van on my 98 Prelude SH for years now. The car has a lot of mods, and custom kit, so when it gets damaged, I need to get it looking right, and Smooth Auto Body does it every time.
I’ve had my car fixed up here no less than 6 times, from body damage to getting the car smog ready, and I’ve recommended folks come here for detail touchups who have been quite happy.
They’re affordable and will work with you on insurance coverage and all that. Highly recommended!

Van and his crew has been in business for 25+ years in one week they had my 2006 Subaru Sti from salvaged to better than it was before my accident. Fair, honest and a pleasure to do business with. I will be recommending them to anyone I know who has the bad fortune of getting in a car accident.

This place is great! I brought my Prius to Smooth Auto Body a few weeks ago for a broken side mirror. I didn’t know what to expect from a body shop because I’ve never had any problems with my car. They knew exactly what needed to be repaired and were very helpful when explaining all the details to me and giving me the estimate.
I decided to have them fix my car and the work was finished within two days (the side mirror as well as a new bumper, which I chose to have them fix because they were so knowledgeable, kind, and the out-​of-​pocket price was very fair)!
I will definitely bring my car back any time I need to have body work done on it — as well as recommend Smooth to my family and friends! The quality of the work was perfect and customer service top notch!

I have been coming in to Smooth Auto Body for years. Besides great customer service and support, they go over every detail information with you and making sure you fully understand the situation. They will give you your baby car back in no time! My accord got into a bad rear collision last month. Got it back in a short period of time with perfectly painted match bumper and even take care other small stuff with no charge!

I went over to Smooth Auto Body today to have a break alert light checked out. The owner checked it out and topped up my brake fluid for free. There was another time my car was in a car accident and the owner drove me to the Bart station while my car was being fixed because I could not get a rental car in time. The customer service cannot be beat! For work that they did charge me for in the past, they have always been very reasonable. I can’t recommend this mechanic enough!

I took my car into Smooth Auto Body but the owner was out for another hour so I decided to come back another day. The next time I called first to make sure he was there. He was friendly and told me to bring the car back when the part I needed was delivered. I didn’t have insurance to cover it and he tried to make it as reasonable as possible. The BART station is an easy short walk.
They finished the job earlier than expected and they called but didn’t leave a message. I picked my car up as originally planned and they did a great job. I can’t tell that it was patched and the new paint matches perfectly. The window worked perfectly with the new part they replaced. They must have washed my car because my car looked cleaner.

A friend of mine refer me to this body shop for repairing. What a great gem to find! Friendly customer service and very informative during the process. Thank you for being extremely patient with my bad insurance company for weeks. Couldn’t get it done with out smooth, because some would just give up and not care about it.
Repair job are well done and even take care of some small stuff here and there. Customer service was excellent like I mentioned and couldn’t praise for more.

I came by for a car wash. They were extremely friendly and provided excellent customer service! I brought my daughter along with me, they offered her a banana and cartoons in a waiting room that wasn’t bad at all. I didn’t know they’d be cleaning the inside of my car also. It was a mess! Without making me feel embarrassed they politely asked me to gather my personal belongings together. They pretty much took care of things that were obviously trash.
Highly recommended for car wash! I know they offer other services too. With a staff so friendly & communicative I wouldn’t mind letting them work on any other services needed for my car.

I dropped by accident today around 4:15 after trying 3 other body repair shops who said they couldn’t fix my car today. The front bumper got cracked and detached and it looked so bad I was afraid to be pulled over.
I went in and the mechanics sent me to the owner who looked really busy. I felt it wouldn’t work and was leaving when the owner came out, same story, about to close, I told him I’d never get it fixed since I had to be at work at 8 am and this was the earliest I could make it to the shop.
He looked at his watch and asked me to park. Other’s prices were 60 and 75, he estimated 80 which for being a last min deal was great!
I came back an hour later to my car in perfect condition.

Smooth not only took care of my car, but also took car of everything needed during the repair of my car by setting up rental cars, having someone to drop me off to pick up my rental car, and giving me updates on the cars repairing status from time to time.
Great overall one stop service that I can not be more please with! And ofcourse in the end my car looks brand new again!

There are a lot of auto body shops in Oakland and they all have very similar sounding names. So when my car had some body damage that includes some dents, paint damage and a broken side mirror, I wasn’t sure where to go.
My mom suggested Smooth Auto Body. My dad took his Porsche into them before after a slight fender bender and she said the non-​insurance price was reasonable, but then again that was a Porsche so I was a little skeptical.
I was able to file the insurance claim pretty easily given the fact that it was a hit and run. I came in with the claim# and insurance estimate and came in once for them to take a look and then brought it in a way days later. When I was there they were fixing a lot nicer and more expensive vehicles than my Hyundai Elantra so I figured my car would be in good hands.
The owner, Mr. Gee, is friendly and gets right down to business.
The repairs took slightly longer than I expected but it coincided with Thanksgiving so I’m giving them a break. In fairness I brought my car in before they even had a chance to order the parts because my insurance set me up with the rental sooner than expected.
What matters is they did a good job. In the area where they did the repair you couldn’t tell there was an accident. They tested the wheel alignment and also cleaned both the inside and outside of my car.
I’d recommend them to folks who need some auto body work done and I hope I don’t have to go there again anytime soon.

I’m surprised Smooth Auto has not had more reviews. I think they deserve some positive feedback. We have probably had more than our fair share of car accidents and need for auto repairs. Smooth Auto has always done a great job, for a reasonable price, fixing our cars. A reliable, trustworthy mechanic/​auto body shop is hard to find. I’m glad I finally found a go to mechanic.
